Shantou Hotels with Bars

I booked the Maldives Sea Duplex with a panoramic mountain and sea view room, which comes with a private hot spring pool. Soaking in the warm water while gazing at the endless sea view, with the gentle sea breeze blowing, makes time itself slow down. The breakfast was very rich and enjoyable, especially with the sea view.

This guesthouse is incredibly comfortable, and the service is so thoughtful and attentive. There's a bathtub where I could enjoy the night view, which finally helped me unwind after a long day! I arrived quite late, but the front desk staff was very welcoming and made me feel so well taken care of. The self-serve coffee in the lobby is also delicious. The breakfast spread is fantastic, with beef rice rolls and incredibly fresh century egg porridge—this is exactly why I keep coming back to Guangdong year after year!

I was very satisfied with my stay this time. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the bedding was soft, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the location was convenient for getting around. Overall, it was excellent value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again!

I'm writing this review a month after checking out, because just thinking about it still makes me angry 😤! Room: First, let's talk about the room layout. I booked a tatami room thinking it would be good for storing things. I arrived in Shantou late at night, and after checking in, I opened the room door to find a mirror directly facing the entrance (with a small spotlight above it). All the fatigue from driving for several hours instantly vanished – it was horrifying! What kind of designer puts a mirror facing the door? Later, I realized it was probably because the room was small and there was nowhere else to put the mirror. The entire room didn't even have a proper desk, just a very small low table, about 20-30 cm high. After putting a tissue box on it, it was hard to even eat takeout. There was no space for laptops, tablets, or personal items, so I had to put them on the wooden shelf above the water kettle. The entire room only shared one trash can with the toilet area… The smart features of the toilet were all in useless places; it didn't have heating or a bidet, just a motion-sensing lid opener? Every time I went to the shower, the toilet lid would open automatically 😂. For a hotel that costs several hundred yuan, they use 'Bing Lu' mineral water, which even the Orange hotel two blocks away doesn't use anymore. The room came with a coffee machine, but no milk or sugar, which is unfriendly to those who like sweets. Now, for the main reason I felt compelled to write this review. I'm a woman with rather dry hair, reaching about my waist, so conditioner is a must after washing. When I went to use the conditioner after washing my hair, it looked like there was still some left, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't pump any out. The nozzle and bottle were in one piece and couldn't be twisted open. The frustration and anger at that moment were immense! 😤😤 This led to my hair getting tangled, and it took a long time to sort out, ruining my mood for the whole day. Do they really need to be *that* economical? Leaving so little in the bottle just for show? Also, the hotel is truly economical; the elevator doesn't have air conditioning. At around 9 AM, I took the elevator, and there was a very strong smell of sweat inside. There must have been workers who had done a lot of strenuous work and then took the elevator, and the smell was all trapped inside. It was truly awful 🤢. It really doesn't feel like an international brand hotel. Perhaps the Wyndham next door would offer a much better experience.

Our stay was a wonderful surprise! The front desk service was warm and attentive, and check-in was very efficient. The family room we booked was incredibly comfortable, clean, tidy, and well-equipped. They even thoughtfully provided breakfast vouchers, and the breakfast selection was extensive and delicious. The location is a big plus; it's very close to the small park and Longyan South Road, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. When we returned to the hotel tired from exploring, the front desk staff even helped us with a late check-out – so many thoughtful details! Overall, our stay was very pleasant, and I'll definitely choose this hotel first next time I'm in town. Highly recommended! 👍

We booked the Octonauts themed room, and my child absolutely loved seeing all the dolls. The room even came with a themed mini-shoulder bag. The room and facilities were pretty standard. I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was served until noon. There are plenty of convenient dining options nearby, especially the goose rice and congee places. It's also quite close to Aofei Plaza. If you don't feel like walking or taking a taxi, you can just grab a shared e-scooter on the street and explore the area.

Staying in the heart of the food district, it was incredibly convenient with Longyan South Road just across the pedestrian bridge. The front desk lady was super nice; she even gave me a few Chaozhou and Shantou fridge magnets, which was so thoughtful and saved me the trouble of buying souvenirs. The next day, I couldn't make it back for checkout by 12 PM, and she helped me arrange a late checkout. Despite any minor flaws, it was a really great experience!

The room is newly renovated and not bad. It was in the middle of the night after the reservation time, and a special room booked was canceled. The price of booking a room is more expensive, which is not very pleasant.

Before booking, I inquired with several places on Ctrip, and their host was by far the quickest to reply. They answered all my questions, proactively shared weather forecasts, and recommended the best room types for watching the sunrise—really helping us pick the perfect one. Meeting them in person was even better; they were so genuine. The room was clean with a cozy, cream-toned aesthetic. It has direct ocean views, so we could literally wake up to the sunrise right from bed. The location in Houzhai is easy to find, and parking is convenient. It's rare to find a B&B that is this reliable from booking all the way to check-out. Definitely deserves a top rating!

A wonderful hotel in the middle of a forest. Really friendly and helpful stuff who also know how to leave you alone to enjoy your stay. Food is excellent! We really enjoyed the chicken cooked in the sand pit and the pizza. Their drinks are also excellent. We brought our dog and he loved walking around their gardens which are also very nice. There's two big pools, one of which wasn't open because it was being repaired, but that's life, the pool downstairs was more than enough. Room was big, clean, modern and we'll equipped. Loved the bed so much and loved the projector. Waking up to see the forest outside our window every morning was amazing. Excellent hotel overall and we'll definitely be back in the future. There's not a lot to do nearby, but if you're like me and just love to chill out all day when on holidays, then this is the place for you. They also have lots of chairs outside where you can eat BBQ in sort of a camping style and a massive TV where people like to do some karaoke. Too much to mention! Place is awesome!!!
