"This is my first time staying at the Atour 4.0 Jianye Hotel. I heard the price soared to over 4000 RMB during the Spring Festival (is that true?). Overall, I had a fantastic experience and was quite satisfied! Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons. Pros: ◦ The hotel seems to have opened at the end of 2025, so the facilities are brand new, and you can tell they’ve incorporated many new design concepts. ◦ The one-click deep sleep feature is amazing! The bedding (mattress, pillows) is incredibly comfortable. The two nights I slept here were the best sleep I’ve had in years! Even more comfortable than at home! ◦ The 'Zhuju' library in the lobby is captivating! The selection of books feels very tasteful, I absolutely loved it. I flipped through so many great books – literature, history, society, politics, mathematics, all kinds of genres. Most are renowned good books, unlike other bookstores or hotels that often feature mostly self-help or success-oriented books. The person who curated this selection is truly cultured. ◦ (The existence of 'one-click deep sleep' and 'Zhuju' alone makes me want to book Atour for all my future travels!) ◦ The room I stayed in was very spacious. The square-shaped room felt larger than the rectangular one my parents stayed in. ◦ The laundry room is big and very convenient. The washing machines dispense detergent automatically. ◦ The hair dryer is a Laifen, and it’s excellent! ◦ The front desk staff were very thoughtful and provided some guide maps and food recommendations, though we didn't end up using them much. Oh, and you can take as much water as you want. Cons: ◦ Parking is quite limited (only about a dozen spots?). If you can’t get one of the few spots right outside the hotel, getting in and out becomes inconvenient! This building seems to be a renovation of an old structure, not a new build specifically for an Atour hotel – hence no underground parking. When we arrived on the first day, it was quite early, and the surface parking next to the building was empty, so we got a spot with easy access. However, after dinner on the second day, when we returned to the hotel, there was only one parallel parking spot left in the entrance driveway – luckily, we managed to fit in. Otherwise, we would have had to go to the underground parking across the street, which would have been a long walk, and very inconvenient if we had luggage and it was raining. ◦ The gym equipment is not extensive (of course, it’s a high-end hotel, not a five-star luxury hotel, so expectations can’t be too high) – there are only treadmills, an elliptical, an exercise bike, a weight bench, and a few pairs of dumbbells. The dumbbells are 5-7.5-12.5-15kg, but surprisingly, there's no 10kg! That's really odd. = = ◦ There are many mosquitoes on the first floor, and even in the lobby."

This place is elegant, quiet, and spotless, so the surrounding photos I've included are the best compliment. It's incredibly rare to capture these popular spots completely empty, you know. Location, location, location! This small hotel, located above a popular photo-op spot, is accessible by ride-hailing apps. The staff are young and enthusiastic, yet maintain a good sense of boundaries. We had been traveling in Guangdong for many days, and Shantou might be our only chance to visit in this lifetime. Nanao Island was a letdown, but this guesthouse is the only place I'd happily give a high score, making this trip incredibly pleasant."
