Amazing
AAnonymous UserLocation is great, easily walkable to Piccadilly. Room space is great, but the facilities aren’t fantastic. The lights in the corridor totally black out in the middle of the night and is motion sensor, but the first instant when you open your door, it is pitch black. Room service is not 24hours and they take super long to respond to your request.

HhakunaVery close to the train station, and we were upgraded to a two-bedroom apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook your own meals. There's a supermarket and restaurants downstairs. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserThe food selection at breakfast was superb. All the staff were lovely and helpful, especially at breakfast. The swimming pool was always clean and tidy, nothing broken or dirty. Only thing that could have made our stay better was if the pool were open longer

GGuest UserThis is a grand and historic hotel, and I had a very comfortable stay. Its location is fantastic, right in the city center and just a short walk from Manchester's Chinatown. My only complaints are the unclear smoking signs near the entrance and the tiny ashtrays provided. There was also no doorman to offer assistance or reminders. This could easily lead to fines (as enforcement seemed rather discreet), which unfortunately cast a shadow of frustration and disappointment over my trip.

GGuest UserThis hotel was a positive surprise to me. I did not expect more than a bed to sleep close to the center of Manchester for the price I paid for the stay and they offered so much more with the friendliness and professionalism  of the frontdesk service staff, the varied breakfast and comfortable bed. The hotel is however a bit outdated and I missed a usb plug in the room for charging mobile as I am a European traveller and the plug is different. Luckily front desk helped me with an adapter for the night. I also had a small lunch at the Garden restaurant and whether you go there for a drink or food you will find nice staff and you can taste the freshness of the products used. All in all, great value for money.

AAnonymous UserDuring my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience. A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay. The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience. One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons. In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.

SSenioritaEmzThe location is excellent and the staff are polite and all respectful . The only thing that made my stay unconfortable is the next door guest who keep bouncing on the wall like playing a ball. Also the toilet tissues are empty on the second day and the coffee and sugar were empty and didnt change my cups as well. Aside from that, its great!

ZZintle MalgasPlus: under 10 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Convenient location with bus stops right outside the hotel. Check in was really easy. Outside of hotel looks right out of an old movie, really pretty — plus the corridor on entry. See attached photos. Cons: the room is dated, expected for an old hotel. You get what you pay for I guess. The most terrible thing was the extra blanket they provided smelled really bad - like a wet carpet or dog that has dried up on its own and retained that most terrible smell. I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.

GGuest UserWe had a 4 night stay 29 April to 3 May 2026. The room was reasonably clean and tidy but small, and the bed was comfortable. The room had no windows, which was as described in the booking but was extremely hot. We were given 2 fans but that didn't do very much. It was extremely hard to sleep in the heat of the room. There were no radiators in the room, so we don't know where the heat was coming from. The TV didn't work. We reported it and was told someone would come and deal with it, but they never did . Overall the stay was ok. If the TV had worked and the temperature was right,it would have been a good stay. The location is great for the city centre.
