Beach Hotels in Sokcho-si

I'd known about Maremons Hotel through YouTube since the pandemic, hearing it was a decent hotel in Sokcho with clean bedding and formal service. I especially wanted to visit because it had a sauna. So, I finally came for an early summer vacation. The Ocean View Suite room was spacious and lovely. The unobstructed ocean view from the hillside was definitely the highlight. At 3 PM check-in time, a lot of guests were waiting in the lobby. About 5 minutes before 3, everyone rushed to the check-in desk, forming a line that felt more like a market than a formal hotel lobby. It would be better if they implemented a number ticketing system or allowed early check-in if rooms were ready, as the first impression was quite chaotic. There were two male staff members at the check-in desk, and their service seemed very slow, which was a bit frustrating. The room's cleanliness was relatively good, and the outdoor balcony was also clean. The TV was an outdated model and needs an upgrade in the future. The coffee maker was clean, but the teacups were so old and discolored that I was reluctant to use them for coffee. The male staff member at the B1 sauna facilities was incredibly friendly, which I appreciated, and the facilities themselves were well-maintained. If I get the chance, I'd love to visit again. I recommend it.

This review isn't much different from what others have said. Considering it was peak season, getting this good a deal was nearly impossible – truly excellent value for money. **Pros:** Great value for money, good access to the city center, an extra duvet provided for four adults. Despite the older facilities, the cleanliness was good. The parking lot was huge. **Cons:** Not enough elevators for the number of guests. In the summer, the ondol room (floor sleeping) had no air conditioning. Aside from soap and towels, no other amenities were provided. However, there were dishes, a coffee pot, a refrigerator, and a gas stove and knife. **Suggestions:** It would be great if the annex also had kiosks or self-check-in/check-out. It would also be nice to have additional facilities like an arcade or karaoke room.
