GGuest UserThe hotel's location is superb, within walking distance to Otaru Canal and Sankaku Market. The hotel design is elegant and refined, with a vintage touch. The 5-person loft room feels spacious. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. The restaurant windows are adorned with charming Otaru glass elements. I really enjoyed the hotel's happy hour wine tasting, and I loved spending a relaxing time in the beautiful bar.
GGuest UserVery good, nice people, great view, nice room! It is recommended to book two nights to relax! The most amazing thing is opening the balcony door! From that moment on, you feel that taking a taxi is really worth it.
GGuest UserRoom: The room was spacious with a vintage decor. The twin beds in the double room were also quite large and very clean. We had a great view of the canal from the window.
Location: It's about an 800-meter walk from JR Otaru Station, or a taxi ride costs around 800 yen. I'd recommend taking a taxi when it's snowing. The seaside is just 400 meters away.
Facilities: You can pick up various samples on the first floor of the lobby.
Breakfast: The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious! The sashimi was super fresh, the fried dishes were excellent, and they even had Hokkaido milk.
BBingxue702Great location, nestled halfway up the mountain with beautiful views. The hotel service is excellent, offering pickup and drop-off at Otaru Station. The room also has a hot spring bath.
GGuest UserWe stayed for four nights, and the ski package we booked was a good deal. However, on the first day, the staff at the ski rental shop seemed a bit unfamiliar with the process, which caused us quite a bit of hassle.
The hotel's advantages are very clear. We chose it specifically for the convenient ski access. Every day, after skiing, being able to enjoy the hot springs before the crowds arrived was incredibly pleasant, especially since it was snowing during our stay, which made for a unique experience.
We had dinner at the restaurant a few times. Since we made same-day reservations, our choices were limited, and our dining times were somewhat restricted. Despite the limited selection, the dinner food was good and not expensive.
The downsides were also quite noticeable. Firstly, the moment I opened the toilet lid upon check-in, I found a curly hair, which was a real turn-off. It might have been an issue with the specific room we were assigned (this room was inexplicably next to the garbage room); the layout was a bit strange, and there were no bedside tables, which was very inconvenient.
I personally felt that the staff's service attitude was good, but my spouse mentioned that he used polite language when communicating with the front desk, and he was surprised that they did not reciprocate the same level of courtesy.
CC.YapVery convenient location if you are into skii/snowboarding. It’s quite centralized to majority of the slopes and only 30mins drive to Otaru town. Only downside there is no food nearby by the hotel itself has 2 restaurant. The Japanese one was superb, good food with reasonable price, sadly only open few days a week.
GGuest UserI was very impressed by the connection between the movie-worthy old house and the modern Japanese-style hotel. Just staying here felt like an attraction in itself. However, the lighting was a bit dim at night and the lack of a drain in the bathroom floor was a bit inconvenient.
