The Barbados Terrace provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Koh Samet will find that the Barbados Terrace is a fantastic accommodation choice. This hotel is located near many of Koh Samet's attractions including Wat Koh Samet, Samet Island, Prao Beach and Ao PA Cha. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

"I stayed four nights in a Deluxe Bungalow. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. The only downside is the bathroom door, which is a bit awkward (it needs a door stopper). The grounds are absolutely gorgeous!!! Green, well-maintained, and blooming. Each terrace has a swing. It's worth an extra 100,500 for it; I loved having lunch, relaxing, and creating content while swinging on it. Water is brought daily. Towels are changed once every three days. I couldn't figure out how to use the TV, but it wasn't a big deal for me, so I didn't ask. I also missed a kettle and a hairdryer in the room (but I didn't ask; they might have provided them upon request)."

Great
CCooldayThe Samed Resorts group offers the guests a free boat shuttle service to Samed Island (even free car parking), which I find very convenient. The staff helped us loading the baggage to the boat and from the boat to the hotel. Ban Ploy sea is located right next to the pier with a few minutes walk. The check-in went smoothly. The staff was so helpful and friendly. He even offered me an upgrade room with the sea front view for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfy. At the back of the resort is a log house cafe, offering tasty cakes and fancy drinks. I feel really relaxed lying on a private beach. In the evening we were so lazy to go out, just had dinner at the hotel‘s restaurant every night. It was not cheap but everything was delicious. Overall, we are very satisfied. Highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserI've stayed at this hotel three times. The first two times, I stayed in the Premier area. Last time, while walking around the hotel, I saw that the bungalows had great views, so this time I decided to stay in one. I specifically asked a Ctrip specialist to help communicate my preferred bungalow location, and the hotel said they would try their best to accommodate. When I arrived, the location they gave me was indeed good, the second row from the sea. Let's talk about the pros: 1. **Price**: It's the cheapest among all room types. 2. **Location**: Because I specifically requested a spot, the bungalow faced the sea directly. I could watch the sunrise and the ocean right from my bed. 3. **Photo opportunities**: The bungalow area is great for photos, with rocks by the sea, perfect for shallow swimming (be mindful of strong waves). Cons: 1. **Wildlife**: Geckos, ants, and mosquitoes – it's practically a wildlife sanctuary! Don't even think about keeping any food inside. If you do, ants will inevitably line up, and geckos will show up out of nowhere. 2. **Rooftop battles**: Every night, squirrels would fight on the roof, running around and brawling as if possessed, non-stop. 3. **Bird chorus**: With many large trees, birds rest there. When a strong gust of wind blows from the sea, the birds would start chirping for a while. 4. **Distance**: It's a bit far from the hotel's central area. If you're okay with these four points, then the bungalows are a good choice. Now, about the service and public facilities: The hotel's restaurant/bar is excellent. Every night there's a fire show and performances. Five nights a week there's a band, and the other two nights are singing. The prices at the bar are also good, not expensive, with a 10% service charge, which is standard in most Thai restaurants. Since this was my third stay, I didn't have high hopes for the service; it's hit or miss. Some staff are enthusiastic, others are not. On the first day of my stay, the shower water was quite cold, around 37-38 degrees Celsius. I called a staff member, and they found that the only way to deal with it was by reducing the water flow. So, I waited for the front desk to resolve it. Their final solution was to pre-reduce the water flow in the adjacent bungalow so the temperature would go up, and they asked me to switch rooms. I honestly couldn't be bothered to communicate with them further. This problem seems to be specific to the bungalow area; I never had this issue when I stayed in the Premier area. But they weren't very honest about it. One of the bar staff members was truly sullen. No smiles, fine. But when I went to the restroom, a foreigner next to me was locked inside and couldn't get out, calling out loudly for help. I quickly went to them for assistance. I mean, as a customer, I'm helping you solve a problem, right? But after he opened the door, he didn't apologize to the trapped foreigner, nor did he thank me.

BBushishanmuThe hotel is located right by the sea and boasts a very spacious private beach area. The accommodations are well-distributed across a large area, featuring numerous individual bungalows that truly capture an island resort vibe. While the rooms aren't overly spacious, they are very clean, and housekeeping is prompt. Breakfast is extensive and delicious. In the evenings, à la carte BBQ is available, and the beach hosts performances like 'Da Tie Hua' (molten iron fireworks).

NNhanBeamBeam9The room was beautiful and clean. I got a room next to the Kahe and Sai Kaew beach. The view was beautiful. The accommodation was between Buggy and Sai Kaew Beach Resort, and it was a short walk to a 7-Eleven. Breakfast was a set menu with options to order in advance. You can eat at the cafe or in your room. However, the staff at the cafe and other areas lacked service mind. They didn't smile and greet me. They were either sitting on their phones or chatting in groups. The water and toiletries were insufficient for the guests. The restaurant and cafe closed early, closing before 5 p.m. There was nothing available for drinks or food. The entrance was under renovation, but every time I walked past, the attentive receptionist would come out and tell the technician to stop and let me pass. Thank you. The air conditioning wasn't cool throughout the room, but overall, I liked the beautiful and complete interior design. The mattress on the large bed was too soft, causing back pain.

GGuest UserMixed impressions) For families with children, the pool was a great help: two depths, for babies and a maximum of 110 cm. We vacationed with my 9-year-old daughter in June 2025. There were waves in the bay, so we often swam in the pool. For breakfast: buffet (watermelon, melon, tea, coffee, juices, cornflakes, milk, green lettuce, cherry tomatoes, white rice, rice with vegetables, with chicken, sausages, fried eggs, white toast, jam, butter, etc.) We got a room in which the water in the shower and sink did not drain, not comfortable at all. But we lasted two nights) as in other houses - I don't know) Overall, good. We rented a motorbike and traveled around the island: we were on other beaches and at View points. At the very end of the island, there are gorgeous views!

GGuest UserBooked Deluxe Grand Executive room for 131e/night for two people for four nights. COULD NOT GET TWO KEY CARDS FOR THE ROOM, RECEPTIONIST REFUSED THE REQUEST FOR SECOND 20 cent PLASTIC KEY!?!?!? NOT NORMAL SERVICE AND NOT PRACTICAL FOR TWO PEOPLE!!! ALSO THE BUILDING HAS NO ELEVATOR!!! Had to climb to third floor with luggages as bell boy was somewhere....also the actual room is in two levels i.e.: entrance and toilet downstairs, bedroom and living room upstairs. Outside balcony shower and bath tub had no privacy as shower is visible to the courtyard. Stayed 4 nights and 2 days water and electricity interruptions. Beach bar Happy Hour doesnt work traditional way: Ordered Kamikaze and Strawberry Margarita and tacos. Drank the first Buy 1 get 1 Free and ate the tacos. Waited for the second drinks for a while but then waitress brings us bill without asking it. Happy Hour had ended and we didnt get our second drinks but got invoiced for only one THB350 cocktail and tacos, so be aware of the Grand View Happy Hour practices and dont miss the ordering window like we did. 🤭 Daily issues with the restaurant card machine, cant pay with a CC. Clean and modern room, but poor service and not practical room with two levels and stairs.

AAnonymous UserNewly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time.

MMaria Z. from Canada. If you are picky, need private beach and a big swimming pool - this hotel is not for you. It is a nice small hotel, with small pool, great breakfast. There are rooms that can fit 4 people. It’s a 20 second walk to the beach, you can rent a beach chair or lay on the towel. This hotel only servers breakfasts, there is no lunch or dinner, but you can always get good food at Samed Villa Restaurant. It’s a pleaser stay for several days, lots of greenery on this hotel property, it’s small but cozy.

GGuest UserPlease be aware: if you don't book the deluxe room, you will not receive a bungalow, but rather a room located in a rather unattractive main building. I found this quite misleading, as all the pictures shown online exclusively featured the bungalows. For this reason, I strongly recommend booking the deluxe room. My negative rating applies *solely* to the standard (non-bungalow) room and the deceptive images presented during the booking process. The photos displayed are NOT what you will get when booking a standard room!

SSam DockseyWas a reasonable stay for one night and the breakfast decent range of choice. Room was clean but the only thing which made me concerned was when it came to booking the grand deluxe room It stated sea view room you can only see a little bit just a heads up for anybody staying here. Would stay here again in the future.
