This was my second time here. The service was excellent, but there was an unpleasant experience when I was leaving. I had already paid for the fruit I ordered for the day at the restaurant the night before, but I was asked to pay again at checkout. The receptionist was quite loud, which made me unhappy. The fruit was only a few hundred baht, not much, but it upset me and affected my mood! I was also told I had to pay 150 baht for dry cleaning bags, which I don't understand. After talking to the receptionist, they said they wouldn't charge me… The first time I came in June, the service was much better. This time was a bit unpleasant, and there were so many mosquitoes! After two nights, my thighs and calves were covered in bites. However, my child loved it, especially the restaurant service, which was excellent. They even offered DIY ordering of meals: porridge and meat soup!
But anyway, it affected my mood all day. It wasn't about the amount of baht, but being asked to pay extra was very annoying!
I don't know if I'll go a third time. I'll think about it… but I'll stay at the hotel for two days anyway!

Let's start with the pros:
1. The service was excellent. They proactively provided information about nearby amenities, beach locations, and show times, and were very friendly.
2. The environment was relatively quiet, with occasional motorcycle noise, but it was completely acceptable.
3. The cleanliness was good, with the staff tidying up the front door every morning.
Drawbacks:
1. A common problem with island accommodations is the abundance of mosquitoes, especially mosquitoes. Be prepared for this.
2. One thing I was particularly concerned about was that some of the room amenities were rather unpleasant (the bed legs were a bit risky, and the hair dryer, while functional, would have been much better).
In summary: On islands, unless you're staying at an international star-rated hotel or a higher-end hotel, you'll usually encounter the mosquito issues I mentioned. Overall, the price is still very good value. Easter egg: The hotel is a 5-minute walk to one of the only two 7-Elevens on the island. Continue walking for 3 minutes to reach the beach. Turn left at the beach and there will be fire dance and iron flower performances around 7:30 every night. If you are traveling with children, it is recommended to take the children to AO PHRAO Beach in the morning. When the tide goes out in the morning, the coral reef will be exposed. There are many small fish in it and the water quality is also very good. Go there from the bus stop next to 7-Eleven. If there is a carpool, it is 30 baht per person. If there is no carpool, it is 200 baht to charter a car. If there are few people, it is recommended to go by motorcycle. We have two children and we can't ride a motorcycle.

We chose this hotel based on reviews. We didn't book in advance, as the trip was unplanned. It was our first time on this island, and we weren't sure which beaches were best. We decided to pick an inexpensive hotel with a good view and then visit each beach separately.
Upon arrival, we realized we had made an excellent choice.
LOCATION. You couldn't ask for a better location. It's so close to the pier that we literally walked there with our suitcases in 4 minutes. The two nearest beaches are a 10-15 minute walk away. We thought about renting a scooter but quickly realized we didn't need one. There are cafes, main restaurants, massage places, and, most importantly, a 7/11 nearby. We only went to the pier once to catch a shared songthaew to Ao Prao beach for 40 baht per person. (On the way back, a songthaew acts as a taxi for 250 baht for two, which took us back to the pier).
We were worried that being so close to the pier would mean smells from ferry fuel, dirt, and noise. But in the end, there aren't many ferries, no real noise, and the only smell is the sea. The cicadas sing louder! 😄
HOTEL. We had room 10. An excellent room. Yes, it's not brand new, but for the price, it was more than decent. Every morning, we woke up and enjoyed the sea view right from our bed. There's a hammock on the veranda – definitely lie in it! We sat on the veranda at night, and there weren't many mosquitoes or gnats; we didn't even need repellent. Closing the doors provided a little sound insulation. I particularly appreciated the drying rack for clothes and the abundance of hangers in the room. There were glasses, mugs, a kettle, a safe, and a hairdryer. The mattress, pillows, and bedding were all fine. We got one towel per person.
CLEANLINESS AND HOUSEKEEPING. There isn't daily room cleaning as such, but they change towels daily, and replenish the gel, shampoo, toilet paper, and tea/coffee sets. If you go out, leave your used towels on the veranda, and when you return, you'll find fresh ones in a bag on the table. For the trash can from the toilet, also place it on the veranda, and they will empty it.
Hot water was available 24/7.
We really loved this hotel. After returning from the beaches, the scenery visually changed, and we simply enjoyed the beautiful view from our window and the sound of the waves. And, of course, you can't escape the cicadas.
We recommend this hotel.
Our recommendation: Make sure to walk a little further past this hotel; there are also lovely swimming spots there with no waves.

The Hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little bit old kind of. The bathroom needs improvements or a renovation. The is big, coffee, kattle, hairdryer, towels and shampoo and shower gel is provided. Unfortunately the room is really dark, there is a window or glass door to get in, but if your room is at ground floor level, then there is not much sunlight.
Location is super! Right in the middle of the city centre and very close to the Beach. The cleaning staff is really friendly, reception stuff is quite slow and not so welcoming.
Overall it's a nice location to stay for a few days

The water heater is not hot enough. The location is excellent. Although we found the wrong hotel on the first day, the hotel with the same name still let us stay. The service is OK. The first room smelled very musty. After I raised the issue, the housekeeper also changed our room.

We stayed at this hotel for a week and had only positive experiences. It's 500 meters from the pier. We walked there quickly. The beach is about 600 meters away. The street is busy. There are lots of inexpensive cafes. Fruit. There are three 7/11 stores nearby. There's a yellow ATM at the pier and a red one at the beach. Tuk-tuks from the beach take you around the island every hour for 20-30 baht. The hotel has everything you need. Cleaning is available upon request. They bring clean towels, water, coffee, and paper every day. The air conditioning works well. I recommend it! If we go to Samet again, we'll definitely stay at this hotel.

Small but very pleasant hotel, location is just top. Get to it in 8 minutes from the pier Nadan, next to two 7/11. There are no signs, we flew past it even didn't notice it) on the recession at this moment no one was, waited for 15 minutes, the luggage of the rum is missing, told to leave the suitcases right there 🥲 Authentic numbers, quietly and quietly. At the same time to the central beach to go minutes 3)
From the downsides - a large enough room area, but absolutely no cabinets) room as on the photo, only a little viewed views)
Breakfast personally I liked! Yes, the choice is modest, but food is enough, the hotel is small after all)

This is a two-story house with 3 extra rooms. We booked it with friends and rented the whole place without even realizing it. The location is great, 5 minutes to the main beach, we liked it so much that the distant ones didn't even go. The ceilings are a bit low - but these are minor things, we checked in just to sleep. For that price, everything is very good!
