Datong Ancient City Dai Wang Mansion Manxin Hotel

The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are well-equipped and very comfortable. The front desk staff are all super friendly, and the floor attendants provide excellent service. It's within walking distance of attractions like Dai Wang Fu, Nine-Dragon Wall, and Sipailou. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

Pros: 1. Convenient location 2. Excellent service, very responsive to requests Cons: 1. The hotel hallways and elevators reeked of sewage – I've never experienced anything like it before. 2. The room design was extremely 'user-friendly': 2.1 The frequently used vanity mirror had no independent light switch; you had to turn on all the room lights from the bedside panel to illuminate the sink... 2.2 The shower room only had a low-power exhaust fan for ventilation. The enclosed design made taking a hot shower feel like climbing Mount Everest. 2.3 The 'smart' toilet would always flush intelligently at the most inconvenient times. 2.4 The air conditioning vent was thoughtfully positioned to blow directly onto your head, perhaps to prevent guests from getting a fever at night. There was no way to avoid it, ensuring a 'cool' night. It's hard to imagine these significant flaws in a hotel that just opened in 2026.

The room was excellent and very comfortable. The front desk staff, especially the lady, provided great service. The hotel is right next to Daiwangfu, and we had a beautiful view of it from our window. The soundproofing was also very good, ensuring a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious!

Datong in September is absolutely beautiful, with clear skies and crisp air! This was my first time visiting Datong, Shanxi, and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights – I was very satisfied! The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to the 'Four Archways' in the ancient city, and Drum Tower East and West Streets are less than a 10-minute walk away. From my view room, I had a fantastic panoramic view of the 'Daiwang Mansion' (Prince's Mansion). The front desk staff and all other service personnel were very welcoming and always ready to help. The room was clean and tidy. Even though the view room faced the street, the windows were very soundproof, so you barely heard any outside noise. The breakfast buffet was extensive, with authentic flavors like 'knife-cut noodles' (daoxiao mian) and lamb offal soup with vermicelli (yangza fen)! There was a wide variety of both Chinese and Western breakfast options, and it was served until 11 AM, which is something most hotels don't offer!

This hotel is located right in the heart of Datong Ancient City, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions within the old city. It's just across the road from the Daiwangfu (Prince Dai's Mansion), so you can enjoy the night view of the mansion right from your hotel room. The facilities are complete, and the layout is well-designed. Plus, they have delivery robots that bring your takeout orders right up to your room!

Choosing Manxin Hotel for our trip to Datong was definitely the right decision! The hotel is conveniently located near the Ancient City's Daiwang Mansion, making it easy to visit Daiwang Mansion, enjoy the ancient city's night views, and see the Nine-Dragon Wall – no need for constant taxis, saving a lot of hassle. The overall design is very tasteful, blending the ancient charm of the city with a modern minimalist style, perfect for photos. The room was very clean, with a separate wet and dry area, smart controls, and good soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk staff were patient and even recommended local dishes and sightseeing routes. Breakfast offered a wide variety, and the freshly shaved noodles were a unique local specialty. The self-service laundry room with a dryer was very practical for longer trips. Next time I'm in Datong, I'll definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the ancient city!

The hotel environment is great, and the breakfast is good too. The location is absolutely fantastic. My child really loved it.
