She had her brother take me to the market on an electric scooter to buy seafood while the elderly guests rested and enjoyed the view. That evening, she even took us to see the local village's Mazu welcoming and sending-off ceremony—a truly authentic experience of Mazu culture, filled with the sounds of gongs and drums, the aroma of incense, and dazzling fireworks. This genuine immersion in Mazu culture is something tourists can't find on their own. Even more heartwarming was her thoughtfulness. Seeing that my mother had knee problems, she offered her some knee ointment. The next day, when the weather turned cold, she brought my father a jacket so he could wear it to the pier across the water to return it to the Mazu liaison office. These small gestures deeply touched us. The rooms were clean, conveniently located, and offered beautiful views, but what we remembered most was the landlady's warm hospitality. Meizhou Island boasts beautiful scenery and warm hospitality. I highly recommend this guesthouse when traveling to Meizhou Island.
