Chongqing Hostels

It’s the best hostel I’ve been in so far. The owners are really friendly and provide you with some fresh homemade bread. The rooms and the amenities are clean and there are two sit down toilets. It’s close to the city centre, the night market and the metro. They also provide some helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities. Another big bonus is the rooftop terrace and the little balcony in the second floor. It’s a very social hostel and there is always something to do. I would really recommend this place!

🚗For self-driving trips, a hotel with parking is the top choice. This one has parking right at the entrance. The parking lot isn't great, but it's convenient. 🚶 The hotel is conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the visitor center, where you can take the scenic bus to the Puhua Underground River. You can also visit the covered bridge and explore the ancient town. 🏠 I stayed in a standard room on the second floor. The beds were one 1.1 meters and one 1.2 meters, not the 1.3 meters listed online. Cleanliness was average, and the room had a slightly musty smell, likely due to the recent heavy rains. 🍽️ There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but I didn't find any good ones. The Qianjiang chicken offal hotpot, at 98 yuan, is actually less expensive than the 58 yuan in the main city. The noodle shop's seasoning wasn't very fragrant, and the mung bean noodles were a bit hard and tough. 📄 Overall, for a one-night stay with no high standards, I recommend this hotel.

I found this hostel on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) through a recommendation. It's currently off-season, so the price is especially cheap. The bedding is very clean (no need to put on your own). It's conveniently located just steps from a shopping district, which is also quite lively. They have everything women need, including curling irons. It's also very reassuring to be surrounded by women. Plus, there are plenty of seats, making it convenient for doing makeup and eating (I chose this hostel because of the large windows and natural light; I prefer doing my makeup in natural light). Later, I accidentally left my ID card there, and after telling the owner, they immediately found it for me and even mailed it back. I'm so grateful! I highly recommend it; it's great value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area!

The location is good, but there are no shared electric scooters or bicycles in Jiefangbei, so you have to walk everywhere. Taking the subway means crossing an overpass and an underpass, and that one kilometer walk was a real pain... Also, Chongqing has a lot of one-way streets. A 1km walk in a straight line could be a 3-6km taxi ride. Getting around is really inconvenient... **Facilities:** I recommend not booking a special offer, as those rooms don't have windows. Book a room with a river view instead, otherwise you'd be wasting the unique scenic resources this place offers. Also, if it's autumn and the air conditioning isn't on, a windowless room will be very stuffy. You'll have to keep the room door open all night. **Cleanliness:** Clean **Environment:** Minimalist **Service:** The response time was very slow, and they didn't send any check-in instructions or anything... However, they do provide free slippers, toiletries, face towels, and tissues. There's also an automatic water dispenser.

Excellent value for money! The staff is very helpful, kind, and nice to me...especially Zhulu, whose English, btw, is very good! The place and the views are breathtaking and perfect location. Shared room with bunk bed was clean and fine, also had a/c inside. All in all, super good place to sleep for some nights while visiting the beautiful Chongqing. Thank you sooo much 🙏🏼

The location is great for terminal 2 of the airport (not so much for terminal 3 The bed itself was good quality, with proper privacy curtain, plugs, and a personal light. The shower toilet was big, and it had a separate wet area so you can keep your stuff in the room while showering. WiFi was OK. The windows of the building are terrible, so it was extremely noisy from both cars and planes. It also didn't stop the cold weather, and heating wasn't provided, so it was extremely cold in the room...

Roof deck. Amazing large roof deck with amazing large view of the Chongqing skyline. Lucky if you find yourself here. Authentic neighborhood, authentic building, super cheap price for what this place is- a well positioned, homey, comfortable stay with a very friendly host. Chongqing known for confusion with navigation- this place is mad easy- lines up with the cross-river tourist cable car, is 10-15 minute walk to metro stop (Shangxinjie, Line 6. And I think it might have been this metro station that I was able to get a metro card good for near-all cities in China; convenient..) . Pretty much same distance to the bridge to walk over the Yangtze River. Convenient store with fruit at bottom of steps. Plenty of neighborhood restaurants. It was a place I found hard to leave. Lots of stairs in Chongqing.

The hotel is right in the city center, close to all the main attractions, and the view from the room through the huge panoramic window is truly breathtaking. The rooftop terrace was also a pleasant surprise, a nice place to spend some time. I'm only giving it a higher rating because of these views and the great location. Unfortunately, everything else left a bad taste. Upon checking in, there was a strange, unpleasant odor in the room that never went away during our entire stay. Cleanliness was a major issue: the floor was dusty and covered in small debris, and there were strangers' hairs on the bathroom floor. There were no towels, toilet paper, or basic toiletries in the room at all when we arrived. We also had issues with the amenities. The shower drain was so clogged that water kept backing up, and we had to clear it ourselves; otherwise, it would have been impossible to shower. The Wi-Fi barely reached the room; there was a signal only if you stood right by the front door, so effectively, there was no internet. The air conditioning worked fine, and the bedding was clean enough. The views and location are excellent, but the housekeeping definitely needs serious improvement.

The room is on the 18th floor, room 1815. The owner responds quickly to messages and is easy to contact. The location is good with many restaurants and a food court downstairs. Several bus lines pass by. Cleanliness is acceptable; the toilet and shower are separate. The room is large and the bed is comfortable and clean.

There's convenient parking right outside, and the atmosphere is comfortable from the moment you enter—I'd give the environment a 5 out of 5! For this wonderful ambiance and service, I have to give it a thumbs up! The facilities are complete, the stay is quite comfortable, the room size is just right, and the soundproofing is pretty good.
