"It's a bit better than our dorms back in school, still very comfortable. We stayed for about ten days straight, and by the end, it felt just like home – we really didn't want to leave. Out of all those days, only one night was in a room without a private bathroom, but honestly, they were all pretty similar. The living room is great for eating, with sofas and stools, which is really convenient. Plus, they even provide disposable face towels and the toilet paper is decent quality. Overall, I'm very satisfied! Next time I'm in Chongqing, I'm definitely choosing this place again. The owner and the cleaning lady are both lovely.
Just a heads-up for first-timers: when staying in Building A, take the express elevator on the far left to reach the 49th floor."

GGuest UserI had a good stay at Sonderia! I booked a twin room as a solo traveler. The area is close to Wenshu Monastery and takes 10mins to the train station Line 1 but doesn’t feel that far. Bus stops are just in front of the hostel too. The bar area is a great spot to chill at night and meet other tourists.
Nicole at the reception was sooo nice and accommodating!! I was allowed to check out late (2pm instead of 12nn) and she even let me stay at the couch area at the bar so I can rest for an extra hour before my flight. She even bothered to lend me a comforter!! Thank you!! 🤍

GGuest User🚗For self-driving trips, a hotel with parking is the top choice. This one has parking right at the entrance. The parking lot isn't great, but it's convenient.
🚶 The hotel is conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the visitor center, where you can take the scenic bus to the Puhua Underground River. You can also visit the covered bridge and explore the ancient town.
🏠 I stayed in a standard room on the second floor. The beds were one 1.1 meters and one 1.2 meters, not the 1.3 meters listed online. Cleanliness was average, and the room had a slightly musty smell, likely due to the recent heavy rains.
🍽️ There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but I didn't find any good ones. The Qianjiang chicken offal hotpot, at 98 yuan, is actually less expensive than the 58 yuan in the main city. The noodle shop's seasoning wasn't very fragrant, and the mung bean noodles were a bit hard and tough.
📄 Overall, for a one-night stay with no high standards, I recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserI didn't expect that the rooms we randomly booked would be so great. They were much more comfortable than hotels. We were a group of only girls, and the place was very clean and cozy. Everyone was very polite and not noisy at all. Downstairs was the Chongqing big screen internet celebrity check-in spot, and there was a lot of food to eat. The location was great, and it was very convenient to go anywhere. The housekeeper was also very friendly and helpful, and she was always available online to handle any issues. It was really worth the money, and I really recommend it to everyone.

MM635999****I found this hostel on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) through a recommendation. It's currently off-season, so the price is especially cheap. The bedding is very clean (no need to put on your own). It's conveniently located just steps from a shopping district, which is also quite lively. They have everything women need, including curling irons. It's also very reassuring to be surrounded by women. Plus, there are plenty of seats, making it convenient for doing makeup and eating (I chose this hostel because of the large windows and natural light; I prefer doing my makeup in natural light). Later, I accidentally left my ID card there, and after telling the owner, they immediately found it for me and even mailed it back. I'm so grateful! I highly recommend it; it's great value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area!

GGuest UserRoof deck. Amazing large roof deck with amazing large view of the Chongqing skyline. Lucky if you find yourself here. Authentic neighborhood, authentic building, super cheap price for what this place is- a well positioned, homey, comfortable stay with a very friendly host. Chongqing known for confusion with navigation- this place is mad easy- lines up with the cross-river tourist cable car, is 10-15 minute walk to metro stop (Shangxinjie, Line 6. And I think it might have been this metro station that I was able to get a metro card good for near-all cities in China; convenient..) . Pretty much same distance to the bridge to walk over the Yangtze River. Convenient store with fruit at bottom of steps. Plenty of neighborhood restaurants. It was a place I found hard to leave. Lots of stairs in Chongqing.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe location is quite close to the Eighteenth Ladder, and there are many restaurants nearby. The room price is not expensive, and the price is also suitable during the May Day holiday. The quadruple room I booked has its own bed curtains and its own privacy. It is convenient for boys to have one floor and girls to have one floor. There is also a cat that comes over as soon as it squats down.

GGuest UserTraveling solo, I picked this hostel. Basically, it's decent, nothing spectacular, but the value for money is unbeatable. It's affordable and super convenient for sightseeing, with easy access to the subway for transfers. It has all the essentials you'd expect from a hostel, perfect for a short stay.

AAnonymous UserThis hostel is great because the rooms have their own bathrooms, which is super convenient. The common area outside is also really spacious, perfect for eating, studying, or reading. The beds come with a reading lamp, power outlets, and lockers, all well-equipped. Plus, the bunk bed ladders aren't just rungs; they're like a sturdy, box-shaped staircase, very safe and solid. Even if you're usually scared of climbing to the top bunk, you'll feel secure here. Overall, I highly recommend it! I forgot to take photos, but it's genuinely good.
阿阿布 FAROOQUII had a wonderful time at this hotel; the spacious and warmly decorated rooms made me feel extremely comfortable, and the bedding was also very comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly through the night.
The service at the hotel was also excellent; Qian Duoduo went out of his way to help answer questions and provide assistance, so overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates a good stay!
Pc: This stay is walking distance to metro station, bus stop is right in front and all the main tourist places are within 15-20 minutes distance.
GGuest UserVery difficult to find, it is on the top floor of an apartment building and there are no signs to indicate it is there until you have got out the elevator and walked up 2 flights of stairs. Make sure you reach out to the owner before arriving and he will be able to help you and speaks great English. We didn’t do this and found out the hard way!
Owner was very friendly, able to book trips for us and recommend things to do. In a great location. You get what you pay for, but this was a great budget option!
