CcheerjuiceThis was my first time visiting Chongqing, and I chose this highly-rated guesthouse. It definitely didn't disappoint! The hosts even created a group chat to ensure someone was always available to answer questions. The location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around, and it's close to the subway station. The room was quite clean and even had a washing machine, which was a lifesaver in this heat! Plus, there's a small balcony for drying clothes, which is a big bonus. Overall, if you don't specifically need a river view, this place is a great choice.

GGuest UserThe room is very close to the subway station, right outside the exit. The room was exceptionally clean, and the bedding was spotless. The host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even when our train arrived very early in the morning. Nearby, there are traditional hot pot restaurants and various local snacks, all delicious and affordable. We truly experienced the warmth and hospitality of Chongqing people. I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance to visit Chongqing.

RrunrunzhaoThis hotel is nestled in the heart of Xiahaoli, a beautifully renovated century-old Western-style building. During the jacaranda season, I silently wished on my way there, and incredibly, I was assigned a room with views of both the blooming flowers and the river! It perfectly captured the民國 (Republic of China) era aesthetic I love. The staff were also incredibly friendly, and they even have adorable pets named Laikai and Caicai. The afternoon tea pastries and sparkling juice were absolutely fantastic.
On one side, you have the high-rise river views, and on the other, the stilt houses nestled under hundred-year-old banyan trees – a seamless blend of old and new. This is Xiahaoli. There are also some charming independent shops here; I even picked up a tea set and some delicious local food.

GGuest UserStaying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks.
Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares.
The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food.
This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

GGuest UserGreat location, dinner was good, but let down by malfunctioning hot water in the shower in 2 or the 3 rooms we booked. We had only ice cold water from the shower. Thankfully it was rectified. In one of our rooms (2005) the shower stall glass sliding door had come off the rails, and could East have fallen on guests, causing serious injury from the weight of the door and broken glass.
The check-in staff was very helpful, but the staff at breakfast on 6 Jan was quite unhelpful, and in fact started to argue about the prior breakfast arrangement our tour guide made with the hotel the previous day. Rather than saying she didn’t know and would check, she unilaterally decided the options were wanted (and had prepared the hotel for through our guide’s arrangements the previous day) were not available.

The attention to detail is truly impressive, creating a sense of tranquility and authenticity that is all too rare in today's hospitality landscape.
One of the standout features of my stay was the opportunity to explore the entire village on my last night. Navigating the winding paths felt like stepping into an adventure game, with new discoveries at every turn. The sense of wonder and excitement I felt was akin to being a child again, truly immersed in the magic of the mountain setting.
The service at Longmen Pu Village is equally impressive. Prior to my arrival, I had connected with the customer service team on WeChat, and they were well-prepared and attentive to my needs. Upon check-in, I was welcomed with delectable local Chongqing specialties, a delightful introduction to the culinary delights that awaited me.
The highlight of my stay, however, was the opportunity to enjoy the stunning sunsets from various vantage points around the resort, cigar in hand and fresh fruit nearby. These moments of peaceful contemplation, immersed in the beauty of the mountains, will be etched in my memory forever.
Beyond the breathtaking views, the resort also offered engaging activities that allowed me to fully immerse myself in the local culture. I had the privilege of learning the art of potting plants and marveling at the impressive bonsai tree collection, a true treat for a plant enthusiast like myself. The calligraphy session at the on-site tea house was also a wonderful experience, providing a moment of tranquil meditation amidst the adventure.
While I would recommend Longmen Pu Village to any traveler seeking a unique and authentic escape, I would advise international guests to have a basic understanding of the Chinese language or be prepared to utilize translation apps. This slight challenge, however, is well worth the reward of experiencing this remarkable resort.
In conclusion, Longmen Pu Village is a true gem, a resort that has masterfully preserved the local charm and flavor of Chongqing's stunning mountain region. GGuest UserThe location is super convenient, really close to the subway station. Our room was spotless, and the staff, especially the ladies at the front desk, were so kind and patient. You can walk to Jiefangbei in just ten minutes, and the Cloud Eye observation deck and Yangtze River Cableway are right nearby too. Plus, the room offered an absolutely amazing view for night photography!

GGuest UserThe Banyan Tree Chongqing Beibei is located right within the Old North Hot Spring Park, a place famous for its 'Ba Mountains Night Rain' and as the 'Homeland of Hot Springs.' It's a must-visit, especially for the ancient North Hot Springs, which is surrounded by lush greenery and a thousand-year-old hot spring temple. It offers a very serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind. The private hot spring on the room's balcony is incredibly comfortable and great for alleviating fatigue. Owen provided exceptional service. The hotel's design is very distinctive, with every room offering views of the Jialing River.

GGuest UserI originally booked this hotel for three nights in Chongqing, assuming a 5-diamond hotel would guarantee quality. Unfortunately, I checked out after just one night.
First, for the positives: the high floor offers absolutely first-class views. If you're only staying for one night, it's definitely worth considering. The room is very large and spacious. As for the location, getting a taxi in China is incredibly convenient, so location isn't a huge concern. It's a moderate distance from Hongyadong, not too close, but still walkable. There are also many restaurants right outside the hotel in Chongqing.
I discussed the hygiene issues with the hotel, and their attitude was very sincere. Cleaning staff work hard, so I hope there will be real improvements.
The biggest problem, however, is the facilities.
The bed quality is very mediocre. It's not just that it's soft; the springs are far too noticeable. When someone next to you turns over, the bed continues to shake. The bed itself is very light and moves easily.
There seems to be a gap under the floor, and if you're not careful, footsteps can be very loud and thumping. Families with children should definitely be aware of this.
The toilet is very basic, not smart. For a 5-diamond hotel, this is a bit low-end. In Chongqing, unless you absolutely don't eat spicy food, not having a smart toilet can really impact your travel experience.
The bathroom decor also looks quite ordinary. Upon entering, there's no standard place to put shoes or luggage.
The air conditioning is extremely noisy even on a low fan setting. We finally figured out in the middle of the night that it only quieted down if we set the target temperature to match the current room temperature.
Like the Pagoda Hotel we stayed at in Chengdu, there was no safe.
