Luxury Hotels in Chongqing

"Visited with family, had been wanting to come here for a long time. Before arrival, the hotel's guest butler, Yannie, proactively added me on WeChat and introduced the hotel. Upon alighting, our luggage was directly sent to the room. We booked a suite this time, facing Nanbin Road, with Chaotianmen where the two rivers meet to the right. The high-altitude river view was superb. The kids absolutely loved it. The room was very clean; I used a white cloth to wipe the railing in front of the panoramic window, and it was spotless [strong emoji]. Booking a suite included afternoon tea at Bar 62, which offered an unbeatable view of the two rivers converging – what we ate didn't even matter anymore. I left my room key there and when we returned after dinner, it was handed back to us exactly as I left it [strong emoji]. They also provided welcome fruit, a handwritten welcome card, red wine, and dessert. As for the summer special drink and ice cream scoop, we didn't get a chance to try them [facepalm emoji]. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it felt more refined, and there was also an à la carte menu. Upon departure, we received a farewell gift of two packets of Qiaotou hotpot seasoning."

"I specifically traveled from Guiyang to Chongqing for one night just to experience the Conrad, then headed back to Guiyang the next day. I don't usually stay at Hilton properties; I mostly frequent Marriott or GHA luxury hotels. However, this Conrad truly amazed me. To cut to the chase, it single-handedly elevated the Conrad brand. Before checking in, I was actually a bit apprehensive. My experiences at other hotels like the Hilton Haikou, Conrad Hangzhou, and Conrad Tianjin weren't great, so I was worried the Conrad Chongqing might also be a 'flashy but hollow' internet-famous hotel. But the overall experience was absolutely fantastic! From the hardware facilities and scenic views to the public area decor and service attitude, everything was incredibly satisfying. 🥰 One day before check-in, the front desk agent, Mia, called me in advance to ask about my hotel preferences and room type needs. I mentioned I'd like a high-floor room. I arrived at 3 PM the next afternoon, and the doorman quickly took my luggage and escorted me to the lobby. Upon arrival, I noticed the front desk was packed! Chongqing is a popular tourist destination during the summer, so my room wasn't ready yet (which made me a bit unhappy at the time, especially since I had requested a high-floor room in advance). However, the hotel's handling of the situation was perfect! I must specially commend hotel staff member Demi here!!! When I asked to see a lower-floor room, she proactively led me to a cleaned room to view it. After realizing I wasn't entirely happy with the view from the lower-floor room, she suggested another room type, a loft-style room, and invited me to see it. The design and decor of the loft were completely different from the suite, truly, truly beautiful, and it felt very much like home. I can honestly say I've rarely seen loft-style rooms in luxury hotels. It was a shame, though, because I had specifically come for a suite. So, to prevent me from getting tired while waiting, she then escorted me to the Executive Lounge for afternoon tea. During the wait, Ms. Demi perfectly demonstrated the attitude and standard that service staff should embody. From engaging in friendly conversation to prevent guests from getting bored, to leading me on a tour of different room types, and providing highly professional service, she deserves a huge thumbs up! 👍 I checked in around 4 PM, and the view left me extremely satisfied! Even though it's only around the 50th floor, it might surpass most high-rise hotels across the country and even rival 100-story hotels like Rosewood. 😍 I was also lucky that day and won a limited-edition Conrad Christmas bear. Ms. Demi also heard that I chose a bear with a leaf on its head at the front desk and brought me another one. I was genuinely, genuinely delighted! 🥰 Overall, the hotel has a dark, deep green palette, giving it a sense of an exclusive oriental mansion. The design language is quite similar to the Rosewood Guangzhou – very luxurious yet understated. What I particularly loved was the window-side bathtub, offering panoramic views of the mountain city. It's a truly beautiful and comfortable design (and I'm sure countless people come to 'check in' just for this window-side bathtub, haha). The sky was indeed too bright during the day, and I knew these few days were extremely hot in Chongqing, so I wasn't keen on opening the curtains during the day. But the ambiance of the evening view was simply gorgeous! The combination of the hardware and the scenery fully satisfied my visual senses. The Conrad Chongqing absolutely nailed the atmospheric aspect. The hardware facilities and bedding, in my opinion, meet Conrad standards, so I'll gloss over them quickly. What needs to be said is that Ms. Mia and Demi are truly, truly attentive. During my stay, whether it was needing toiletries replenished, turndown service, or even the room getting too hot due to the room type and weather, they responded very quickly. With the hardware already being so satisfying, the service attitude and efficiency were also exceptionally high, leaving me feeling very happy! 😆 Of course, after praising the positives, let me offer a few insights or suggestions about my stay. First and foremost is the heat due to the weather. 🥵 It was genuinely hot. Of course, this isn't an air conditioning issue; I could feel the AC working. This was purely a matter of the weather and the 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows causing the room to get very, very hot. It's also possible I'm just extremely sensitive to heat, so staying in this room type in July or August was a bit challenging for me (though Ms. Demi brought me a portable fan, which helped a lot). Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this room type in the summer; it's genuinely hot. Secondly, there are quite a few 'internet-famous' individuals taking photos... I understand wanting to document one's life, but having numerous 'influencers' of all sizes occupying various public areas to take all sorts of photos made me a bit uncomfortable. After all, some people are there for photo ops, while others are there to relax. As a luxury hotel, shouldn't we prioritize guest privacy or comfort? If your hotel sees this review, I hope you can improve guest screening (or prevent 'freeloading' photography, etc.). 😊 Nevertheless, these minor flaws don't detract from the overall experience. All in all, the Conrad Chongqing perfectly combines timing, location, and human touch. From the stunning views, design language, and decor taste, to the professional, efficient, yet personable attitude of the staff, it's a nearly perfect hotel. As I said at the beginning, it has raised the bar for the entire Conrad brand. I hope my next stay brings even more surprises. See you next time!"

"Facilities: Every year, our family road trip's last stop is always this hotel because the kids love playing in the water. I'm usually wary of public swimming pools due to hygiene concerns, but this is the only one where the pool is clean enough for them to enjoy! The courtyard pools are cleaned and refilled for each guest, which is great! There are both hot and cold water pools. The hot water pool is slightly larger in one corner (the first six photos show the hot water pool booked earlier this month, the last one is the cold water pool), so you can compare. I'd like to specifically mention that the toiletries in the hot water rooms are Aesop, but in the cold water rooms, they're Cha Ling. It would be better if they standardized to Aesop 😝 for a more consistent experience, especially since more guests book cold water rooms in the summer, and the price difference isn't significant! However, the quality gap between the two brands of toiletries is quite noticeable. Cleanliness: The cleaning is decent, the bedding is clean and tidy, with visible signs of laundering, clearly indicating they've been changed. Details like the shower corners and drains are very well done and spotless, not a single strand of hair. Environment: It's an independent villa, surrounded by birds and flowers, which I absolutely love. All you hear are birds chirping, no city hustle and bustle. Service: I have to say, the service genuinely gets better every year. Honestly, when I first came, the service wasn't great, though the hardware was fine. But having visited twice within the last month, I've clearly felt the improvement in service quality. From the warm and thoughtful room service staff and their polite manners, to our private butler Rachel's meticulous attention, attentiveness, and quick responses, it truly feels like a home away from home. With two children, good service is essential. The night before, we had a lot of leftover dinner, and she proactively offered to come pick it up and reheat it for us the next day at noon. The next day, in over 40-degree Celsius heat, she drove a golf cart to our room to collect the food, reheated it, and brought it back. During our stay, she also helped us collect numerous takeaways and delivered them to our room, constantly busy and always with a smile. The kids all love Auntie Rachel! Our younger child is small and needed a nap on the second afternoon, and Rachel spontaneously helped me arrange a late check-out even before I had to ask. This kind of thoughtfulness and understanding is truly something every hotel professional should learn from. The boss absolutely needs to give her a raise and recognition! In short, I feel that Songpin Hotel is improving bit by bit, and I truly wish them a prosperous business! It's our happy base camp for me and the kids! We can play in the water, visit the Ocean Park, and explore Yule Town, it's just wonderful!"

"Service overall was very pleasant and worth every penny we paid! All the staff were very polite and greeted us whenever they saw us. A special shoutout to Ashe, who was incredibly helpful, attentive and shared some interesting history about the resort and the hotspring with us. We especially enjoyed the food at the resort. 过桥米线 was definitely the star of the meals, and 碳烤冬瓜猪 was also super delicious. I also loved their breakfast, which included several local noodle selections - my favourite was the 豌杂面! A small downside was that some areas outside the main resort area felt a little run-down, and there were mosquitoes in the open-air dining area. However, the restaurant thoughtfully provided mosquito repellent and mosquito coils, so it was manageable overall."

"Before coming to Chongqing, I looked at many hotels and finally chose Intercity. Firstly, because it hasn't been open long, and secondly, the location is excellent – very close to Bayi Square, Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, and Shibajie. It's also near Metro Lines 1 and 2. Thirdly, it has a swimming pool, which is great for kids, and fourthly, it has a laundry room, which is essential for summer travel, so I ultimately picked it. And it didn't disappoint! Upon check-in, they upgraded my room. Although the room wasn't huge, it was clean and tidy. A very thoughtful design feature in the room was the USB charging ports on both sides of the bed, in addition to regular outlets, which is super important for charging various electronic devices. Breakfast is on the 12th floor; the variety isn't massive, but it covers the basics with both Chinese and Western options. The gym and laundry room are on the 2nd floor and are open 24 hours. Compared to other hotels, a big plus for the Intercity laundry room is that guests don't need to provide detergent; it's automatically dispensed, which is a great touch. The concierge also recommended local attractions and eateries, and they even gave me a small souvenir when I checked out. My experience this time was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Chongqing."

"The hotel offers river views and is conveniently located close to popular attractions like Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, and Luohan Temple. The service was excellent; after a shopping spree, I didn't want to carry my bags to dinner, so I simply left them at the front desk, and they were delivered directly to my room. The breakfast selection was varied and plentiful. My only minor complaint is that breakfast for children wasn't included, which many other hotels offer, but other than that, everything was great."
