"Citymax Sharjah is in a very local part of the UAE, and getting around was more friction than it was worth. It’s a decent hotel if you have business in the area but that’s about it. Coffee is ridiculously priced at 12 dirhams and there is plenty of food diversity in the hotel if you like getting bent over. In terms of transport, the No. 8 bus stops right outside the hotel (not on Google Maps), then you transfer to the 307 toward Dubai; on the way back, the 307 drops you off far enough away that you’re stuck with about a 20-minute walk back to the hotel through a dense poverty-stricken neighborhood. There is no Bolt in this area so you’re going to have to be fine with overpriced Uber or Careem rides. Food nearby is mostly Indian trash and local fast food, nothing memorable, no nightlife, or shopping and there’s little to do beyond basic errands. One practical note: there are plenty of laundry shops around, and Ashraf Laundry / Dry Cleaning was the least sketchy option I found, professional and reasonably priced at about 1–2 dirhams per item."

"I booked my stay during Ramadan for 3D2N. Room view was amazing, overlooking Al Majaz Waterfront. Plenty of discount stores at walking distance since the hotel located at city centre. Big spacious room, clean toilet, plenty of toiletries were given. I booked my room with breakfast, I would say the breakfast spread was amazing. There was a breakfast section for kids too, that was very cute. Staffs were very attentive and interactive. Ikram, Aleesha, Win, Aakash, Manager ( I forgot the name ) and every other front desk staffs were very attentive and very helpful. Definitely will stay here when I am back to Sharjah in future. Thank you very much to the team for they amazing hospitality."

"Bad experience with checking in after sharing booking number on phone which took time & was showing concern for privacy on it but Mr. Rude shocked me with bad behavior saying I will not take the phone i was wondering why it took time even though name booking enough instead of asure concerns Mr. Rude instantly showing disrespect to customer & asked for other assist however Mr. Rude was definitely keeping acting with no manners I WAS EXTREMELY TIRED from international travel other wise definitely I will cancel booking thanks to him was first experience in such hotel name and definitely the last."

"Great hotel, can definitely recommend. Furniture is not new, but working properly, bed very comfortable. Teapot & fridge in the room (though fridge is barely working). Shampoo & lotion provided. Good wifi. Breakfast is various & tasty. Hotel staff ready to help. Small pool, sauna & gym (for ladies available until midday). Very close to marvelous beach, tasty cafés around. Nesto supermarket is also not far away. No slippers in the room, but staff provided upon request without problems. Great option if your point of interest in Sharjah is beach, beach, beach!"

"overall it’s a good hotel and everything works fine , but if you need to be close to Dubai downtown it’s too far and traffic has become an issue. The room smelled strange and bed pillows i found uncomfortable as well as the bedlinen smelled old/ not good not fresh it annoyed me a bit . the room was comfortable and quiet and the bathroom nice . If the location doesn’t matter it’s a good choice . The area around it has nothing to offer lots of traffic , better don’t walk around there"

"I booked the room at the very last minute, and when i checked in i wasnt expected that i was upgraded to the club room. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the most important thing is the reception knew my flight is at the night so she made a late checkout for me when checking in, nice place to stay and nice view"

"The room itself is super. Big and has everything. The linen is clean, the bed is comfortable. But as soon as I took off my shoes, I felt a million hairs on the carpet.
The pool on the roof looks like it survived the apocalypse. 2 dirty sun loungers, the same chairs and everything is shabby.
If you are staying for 1 night, then we walk in slippers and the room is good. If you want to sunbathe on the roof, then it is better not to choose this hotel. It is definitely not 4 *"

While not far, traffic can be heavy in the mornings and evenings. It seems to have been a Ramada hotel previously. GGuest UserThe front desk and facilities staff provided excellent service throughout my stay. I was pleasantly surprised that early check-in was accommodated without any issues, as my flight arrived ahead of schedule. The room was clean and well-equipped, offering slippers, tea/coffee, a dental kit, shaving kit, sewing kit, shoe polish, soap, and several other thoughtful amenities.
I was also informed that the gym and swimming pool were available for guest use. Early check-out was conveniently arranged to align with my early morning departure. Additionally, they offer the option to pack breakfast if notified in advance, which is a great touch.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. An added bonus is that the hotel is within walking distance of Sharjah Airport, making it a highly convenient choice for travelers.

TTrixAndThe hotel is showing its age, and it definitely needs some renovations. There were ongoing works on the floor where we stayed, which made the stay less comfortable. Service was not great either — staff seemed unaware of trip.com as a booking site, which caused some inconvenience during check-in. Overall, not the best experience, and I wouldn’t choose this hotel again unless improvements are made.

I have been a regular guest at this hotel and usually enjoy my stays here, but this time I was truly disappointed by the way my situation was handled.
Due to unusual circumstances, I couldn’t check in on the first night of my reservation. I had already contacted both the hotel and the booking website before the check-in date, requesting either a free cancellation, a refund for the first night, or an extension for one more night. Unfortunately, both the hotel and the website refused all options. As a result, I lost one night and three meals, since my booking was on a half-board basis. I was expecting more flexibility and understanding, especially as a returning guest.
Other than that, my experience at the hotel was generally positive.
• The staff were courteous and professional, especially in the restaurant — Mr. Shah Qinar stood out for his exceptional communication skills and helpful attitude.
• Housekeeping on the 6th floor was excellent — everything was tidy and well-maintained throughout my stay.
• Breakfast buffet offered plenty of choices and the food quality was quite good. However, the coffee quality and milk used in the machine were below the standard expected from a normal outside café.
• The room lighting was on the dim side with no option to brighten it, which made the room feel darker than comfortable.
• On the positive side, the bedding, blankets, and pillows were very comfortable, and having free parking beside the hotel was a great convenience in a congested area like Al Majaz.
Overall, while I appreciated the good service from the staff and comfort of the stay, the lack of flexibility and empathy from management regarding my situation has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to this hotel.

The only minor issue was that the room was a bit dim due to the window facing a neighboring building. Perhaps brighter lighting within the room could enhance the ambiance. Overall, I would recommend this hotel

GGuest UserLower your expectations! This is simply the cheapest option if you’re looking for a place close to SHJ. Otherwise, the experience was quite disappointing.
The room I booked didn’t have a kettle or an iron as listed on the website. The bathroom’s “warm” water was yellow, with sand and dirt coming from the sink. I asked them to fix it, but they preferred to move me to another room, which had the same issue, just a lighter shade of yellow. I couldn’t take a proper shower or even wash my face.
The TV was broken, and when it did work, there were only three channels, a broken remote, and poor signal. The internet was okay, but not fast.
On the positive side, the staff were kind and helpful. The receptionist also allowed a late checkout (2 hours extra), which I appreciated. However, there was a strange smell in the hallways, likely from nearby Indian food.
I would only recommend this place for a very short stay if you’ll be out most of the day and just need a bed and air conditioning.
