Guest UserI recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The location is excellent - just a short 5-minute walk to the main shopping area, with plenty of dining options nearby. It made exploring the neighbourhood incredibly convenient.
The room itself is small but it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Despite the compact size, the room was comfortable enough for a relaxing stay.
One of the highlights of the hotel is the onsen facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens, though they are not large, they create a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. I also had free Japanese noodles and ice creams at night times.
Overall, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

IceyliEven though it was a mixed dorm, everyone was really quiet, so my sleep wasn't affected at all. The toilets and showers were never crowded as people used them at different times. The location is excellent; there are several shopping streets nearby, Ritsurin Garden is only about a 10-minute walk, and Takamatsu Port is roughly 20 minutes on foot. On my last day, I found some delicious gelato nearby! 😋

I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier.
Downside: The soundproofing isn't great.
Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly.
Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes.
The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead.

The hotel itself is modern, spotless, and very comfortable. The rooms are well-designed, providing both style and comfort, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The attention to cleanliness is top-notch, and the overall atmosphere feels fresh and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Daily happy
During my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.
A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience.
While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.

We booked a twin room for two people. There were only two beds in the room and the toilet and shower were shared, but it was relatively clean.
The sounds of trains passing by and sounds from the next room could be heard quite easily.

Hotel staff at reception desk is super helpful and very patient to assist customer.
Room is super clean and breakfast is nice.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights for a golf trip. During our stay, there were a couple issues we have with car rental companies. Staff was very kind to help in local languange conversation with call center and local police individuals to effectively get thing done. I cannot image how long it will take for us to communicate with non-Japanese lauguage... Good job Route Inn hotel.

The hotel is only a few mins away on foot from JR Takamatsu station. The room (a double-bed room for a single traveler) is small and dated but in terms of cleanness and comfort, it still is quite alright. The hotel offers free drink in the lobby in the evening, which seems to be a common practice nowadays in Japan's business hotels. There are a number of restaurants nearby and the main pedestrian shopping street is also just less than 10 mins away. To sum up, if you need to be near the JR Takamatsu station or Takamastu port for a short stay, this is a very affordable choice. Reminder: if you need to catch airport bus to Takamatsu Airport in the morning, go to the starting stop which is located at the main road outside of the ferry terminals. The bus, in my experience, was fairly empty when I boarded at the starting stop, but quickly filled up after the 3rd stop and you might need to wait for the next one.

Everything was as expected and the room was a comfortable size for solo travel, even allowing to open a suitcase properly which is sometimes very difficult in average Japan hotels with limited space! The location was amazing just a five mins stroll to the main train station, where you can do shopping conveniently, and also the ferry port for island hopping during the Setouchi Art Triennial. I was asked to stay in the 2nd building for the hotel which didn’t create any issues, just a small block away, the hotel/staff were very helpful in allowing to store the luggage even before and after check in for a full day!

Anonymous UserIt is at a very convenient location near Takamatsu Port, JR station and Kotoden station, so it is a good starting point for attractions around Kagawa prefecture.
There are restaurants nearby but supermarkets are somehow a bit far away.
Independent socket, lighting and curtains are available to provide privacy for dorm bed users.
Temperature in the dorm room was ok but the toilet was a bit cold in early morning.
