Ulaanbaatar Hotels with Kitchens

"The hotel was in a good spot and comfortable but there were a lot of issues with the toilet they weren’t concerned about fixing. There were also samples all over the room because I’m assuming they’re going to be renovating. But overall good. Great location."

"The place is clean and warm. Bed’s really comfortable. There are curtains for privacy and the lockers are huge which I really like a lot. Hot water works well in the shower. The toilets could be a little quite small though but manageable. And there’s free use of the washing machine as well. They have a kitchen where you can drink coffee/tea for free. And the host brings bread for breakfast :) Since there’s also a sofa in the kitchen, i was very happy that i was able to meet fellow travelers to hangout with. Location of the hostel is really good. It’s on the 6th floor of the same building of KFC on Sambuu st. It’s near a lot of restaurants, convenience stores, and the main touristy places. The host Sonny was really kind, warm, helpful, and friendly. He lent me his jacket when i went for a day tour to Terelj National Park because it was cold that day and I don’t have enough thick jackets. His brother Bayaraa was also very welcoming when he picked me up at the airport at almost midnight. Thank you again for the hospitality and will definitely stay here again when I come back in Mongolia. :)"

"Aurora Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Ulaanbaatar, located along Peace Avenue in the western part of UB City. It is about 15mins walk to an Emart and it is also pretty easy to book a taxi/cab using UBcab mobile app to get around as visitors. I highly recommend Aurora Hotel for short visits to Ulaanbaatar, despite it's non-central location. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a decent variety and quality. Khulan Restaurant on the 2nd floor also serves good Mongolian cuisine. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were served breakfast in our room during the Tsagaan Sar festival and it was a generous portion. Unfortunately during our visit, the gym and sauna were closed and we weren't able to use them."

"Central location, 15 mins walk can reach the main square and Shangri-la shopping mall. Price good. 2 restaurants inside hotel. Room spotless clean, spacious, well equipped. But pre-ordering of taxi to airport is not available and staff can only call on the spot when transport service needed (uber like apps in Mongolia is not user friendly). Please note that the ride between airport and city centre (where this hotel is located) can take 1.5 hr long as there's serious traffic jam around the city centre."

"This hotel was recommended by my Mongolian colleagues, and it's excellent value for money. It's cheaper than the hotel next door, but the quality is much better! Mongolia in December is absolutely freezing, I was shivering the whole time!!"

"Really Disappointing Communication, But Decent Hostel Overall I contacted the hotel through Trip.com a week before my arrival but they never responded. I also sent two direct emails with no reply, and when I tried calling, the number didn’t work, not even when a Mongolian with a local SIM card tried. They claim to offer a shuttle service, but my request was ignored, then rejected bia trip.com, and I had to arrange my own transport. Only ONE HOUR BEFORE my flight departed did they finally message me saying they could arrange it, which was far too late to be useful. Also they couldn't be trusted at all. Communication and customer service were extremely extremely poor. Wondering if they ignore requests on purpose and they just cant be bothered replying to emails and messages? My check-in was quite late, around 1:00 am, and since their website says check-in is only until midnight, I just wanted confirmation it was okay, but they ignored all my messages. That said, the hostel itself is decent. The capsule beds are comfortable, even though my USB charger did not work. The showers are ok, and breakfast was ok too. Special thanks to the morning reception ladies who were kind and helped me get a Unitel SIM card. To be noted that it is not even allowed to drink alcohol in the lobby, not even to quietly have a beer with someone else. I understand it is not a party hostel, but this rule feels a bit exaggerated. Left after 1 night and went somewhere else where they offered a much better service"

"The hotel is very clean, heard it’s one of the best in the city. There are many selections of breakfast, staff were very responsive to any needs and questions I had, location is great close to convenience stores and Gobi store and other stores. Taking a taxi is not easy in Mongolia, but staff can call it for you. Also they have a good restaurant called Grill in the building with live music on at night maybe around 9/10pm, it was great experience overall."

"The hotel is modern and situated in a mall. It’s in a walkable spot to good locations e.g. The State Department Store and Black Market. Everything was very clean, the room was spacious and it was comfortable. The woman on the reception desk was not particularly polite nor helpful - our keycard did not work immediately after checking in. The room was also very hot and the temperature could not be changed."

"It’s good for the family or couple. The quiet and safe neighborhood. The best location for the family and kids. The manager Tsogoo was always very attentive and supportive with any issues."

"Old and quite basic. Staff hardly speaks English so almost no interactions with guests. Only 1 bottle of water given a day. Wifi is horrible! Keeps dropping every couple of minutes and had to reconnect every time. Location is good."
