No. 2 of Luxury Hotels in Cusco
Monasterio - A Belmond Hotel - is centrally located in Cusco - a two block walk from the Plaza de Armas - Cuscos central square where the cathedral and most important museums are located. The hotels central location provides an ideal base from which to discover Cusco and the ancient ruins of Sacsayhuaman - Pisac and several other archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Machu Picchu can be reached via a spectacular three-hour train journey from Cusco. . Part of the magic is that from the outside - the whitewashed stone walls of Monasterio give little hint as to the splendid interiors within. But step inside the hotels cool - quiet confines and you will see graceful stone arches - cobblestones and original oil paintings. Stroll a little further and you will come to our cloistered courtyard complete with lush - scented gardens and a fountain. Its here you will find a 300 year-old cedar tree - a testament to the living history of this special place. Guests have remarked that spending evenings in the courtyard under starry skies makes them feel like they have been transported into a lyrical novel. . It is blissfully tranquil here - and there is no need to worry about Cuscos altitude. Besides the muna tea you will be welcomed with - you can reserve a room with oxygen-enriched air. Kindly note not all accommodations offer this unique feature. If you would like a room or suite where this feature is available - please be sure to reserve an oxygen-enriched room when making your reservation - as this feature cannot be offered in other accommodations. Our butler will even draw you a bath - for some well-earned relaxation after exploring the city. Whats so heart-warming about Monasterio is its personal touches. Oil paintings adorn the walls of our bedrooms - and the hotel as a whole houses one of Cuscos finest collections of 18th/century colonial religious art.

"Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio."

"A lot of rooms in the hotel are actually in the basement, and you can't see anything at all. The window is just a decoration, and the basement wall is right next to the window. The highest floor, the 4th floor, is called a luxury room, but because the roof of the third floor extends out 2 meters and tilts up, you can only see a little sky from the window, and you can't see the courtyard at all. It's very strange, but there is no reminder when booking a room. The front desk helps to order a car, which is at least 7 or 8 times more expensive than calling a car yourself. Consider it carefully."

"This is the style I want. You can pet alpacas for free. But the room lighting is too dim, which is a bit uncomfortable. Then on the day of arrival, something went wrong and the hotel couldn't find my order. A young man at the front desk of the hotel actually said it was not his fault. Who is discussing right and wrong with you? As an employee of a luxury hotel, you should patiently help guests solve problems! It is recommended that the hotel strengthen service awareness training to deserve the title of luxury hotel. The service of other employees is still good. Special praise for Ctrip's customer service, who quickly helped me solve the problem."
