"Checked in around 2:20pm for a 3pm check-in — understandable, so we waited. Came back at 3:10pm to find only 1 of our 3 booked rooms ready. We asked to wait for all three so our family could check in together. The receptionist (Aina) promised to call once all rooms were ready — we waited in the lobby, but the call never came, and we watched guests who arrived after us get their keys first. When we finally went back to the desk, a different staff member, Airina, discovered Aina had gone off shift without handing over our pending check-in. Airina took ownership immediately, stayed patient and empathetic despite our frustration, and got us checked in quickly. Bottom line: Poor handover and communication at check-in let the experience down, but Airina’s service recovery deserves real credit — she turned a frustrating situation around professionally. Also, we found a used towels stashed in the wardrobe at the corner. As a 4-star hotel, I expected a better upkeep service. A little disappointed but generally still a pleasant stay nonetheless."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful stay at The Shore Hotel & Residences. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It was well maintained and equipped with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable, and the room offered a beautiful city and river view, especially at night. The location is one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. It is close to many popular attractions, shopping malls, restaurants, and local food spots, making it easy to explore the city without spending too much time traveling. The hotel facilities were excellent, including the swimming pool, fitness center, and other recreational areas. Everything was clean and well organized, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and their hospitality made the experience even better. Overall, The Shore Hotel & Residences offers excellent value for money with comfortable rooms, great facilities, and a fantastic location. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Not far from Jonker Street, it's about a 10-minute taxi ride. There are convenient stores and Malay food stalls nearby, which is very handy. The price is affordable and includes breakfast, which is really good. Great value for money."

"Check-in was super easy, and the property is very accessible with a convenient location near town. The place is also quiet, clean, and well-maintained. One thing to note during check-out time: since many guests check out around the same period, it’s better to take the lift up first before going down. Otherwise, you may end up waiting in a long queue depending on the crowd and traffic 😅 Overall, it was a great stay, and a big thank you to the host for being so attentive and responsive throughout."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. I was especially impressed that the room had a Smart TV, which allowed me to enjoy watching the FIFA World Cup match between DR Congo and England during my stay. It really made the experience even more enjoyable. The motorcycle parking was convenient and easy to access, and both the check-in and check-out processes were smooth and hassle-free. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Melaka."

"a great budget hotel find for anyone looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. the room was really cozy. got upgraded for a bigger room for f.o.c and it came fully equipped with a tv, iron and kettle nor mineral water. as a muslim travelers, they also provide a clear qibla direction sticker. the aircond was superb too, really cold and perfect for a good night's sleep. the bathroom was the best part, it was clean and the water pressure was really strong which makes showering so refreshing plus most importantly, it has a bidet hose, which is a huge plus. the elevators are okay so no long waits. the staff are very friendly and welcoming also theres plenty of parking space, not to worry about finding a spot for parking. hotel location very strategic & located in the middle a city & convenience store for restaurants, i have to walk a little bit, but it’s a manageable distance. one minor downside, the room soundproofing isnt the best, i can occasionally hear noise from the hallway or outside the room. if youre a light sleeper, you might want to take note of that. overall i highly recommended for those who want comfort on a budget"
