Smile Hotel Miyakojima
8.9 (127 reviews)

Smile Hotel Miyakojima ★★★

📍 225 Hirara Nishizato, Miyakojima

"I took a taxi from the airport. The Smile Hotel was so well-known that even the driver knew about it. There are no photos of the hotel interior. Located in the bar district, it's convenient for arriving in the evening, allowing you to enjoy Okinawan cuisine and leave your luggage there. The PIN code is provided in advance, allowing you to open and close the door."

Apartment Hotel 11 Miyakojima

Apartment Hotel 11 Miyakojima ★★★★

📍 Matsubara-558-3 Hirara, Miyakojima

"The tableware was unclean, and the cookware had peeling paint; I'm worried my child will get diarrhea from eating it. There were absolutely no housekeeping staff to ask questions, which was very inconvenient. The hotel location is convenient, and the parking lot is well-designed and easy to navigate."

Hotel Locus ★★★

📍 Shimozato-338-40 Hirara, Miyakojima

"The sheets and bed had mold in several places; the space was cramped; the walls were covered in stains; the suitcase couldn't be opened; the toothbrush was difficult to use; and they charged extra for two extra bottles of water, even though the price was already HKD 1200. The value for money was extremely low. Choose carefully."

Hotel Seabreeze Coral

Hotel Seabreeze Coral ★★★

📍 Miyaguni-974-3 Ueno, Miyakojima

"I was very pleased with the friendly service at check-in and check-out! It was close to the beach, so I could walk to snorkeling. While it wasn't a busy area, there were plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops nearby, so I had no issues during my stay. The room was in decent condition. There was a separate laundry room and I could pay via app, which was very convenient. I also liked that they provided free ice! I didn't go in the pool, but it looked fun with the exciting music and lights! Thanks to them, I had a great trip!!"

Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts
9.3 (256 reviews)

Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts ★★★★

📍 Yonaha-914 Shimoji, Miyakojima

"Of the seven ocean-view hotels I've stayed at in Okinawa, this one boasts the most beautiful and bluest waters (all photos were taken with my phone without any filters). I was immediately struck by the stunning ocean view upon entering the room. The hotel has two convenience stores and souvenir shops, as well as a self-service coin-operated laundry room, providing a one-stop solution for all your needs. There are also glass-bottom boats available for convenient use within the hotel. The hotel consists of two buildings, an older and a newer one. The Ocean Wing is the older building, with slightly outdated facilities, but it's still well-maintained. However, the ocean view is closer and more direct. The Coral Wing is the newer building, a bit further from the beach than the Ocean Wing (not by much, but the ocean view is slightly less impressive). I stayed in the Ocean Wing. However, perhaps because it's the older building, the Wi-Fi signal was extremely poor, often only one or two bars, and sometimes even when it showed a connection, the network wasn't actually working and frequently dropped. For some reason, the toilet in my room always made the sound of running water every ten minutes or so, which could be annoying and disruptive to sleep for those with sensitive nerves. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my room or the overall plumbing system."

Hotel Risingsun Miyakojima ★★★

📍 Kugai-1063 Hirara, Miyakojima

"The environment is very good, the room is clean, and the service staff is friendly. There are restaurants and shopping malls near the hotel, which is very convenient. I will come back again."

Hotel Atollemerald Miyakojima

Hotel Atollemerald Miyakojima ★★★

📍 Shimozato-108-7 Hirara, Miyakojima

"Pro’s: - big rooms - nice sea view - convenient location if you are diving (located right next to harbour) Cons - very dated rooms. In fact, the whole in interior was - its located near to the town, but there isn’t a lot to see or do. - our primary reason for booking this place was because it had a pool, however the swimming pool is only open from April to September. This was not evident when we made the booking. We could have saved a lot of money had we stayed at an alternate hotel that did not brag to have a pool. Even though we arrived the first few days of October with blissful skies and sun we were still unable to enjoy it. When we explained our disappointment to staff they seemed clueless and unhelpful. They did however try to “help” by printing off an extensive list of other hotels that have swimming pools. All while telling us refunds were not allowed. Was a bit odd. It was like paying a premium for an all inclusive food and drink hotel only to be told “sorry food and drinks were included last week but not now. Anyway here is a list of local restaurants you can visit instead. Oh, and sorry no refunds”. Id give it 2 stars. Not horrible by any means, but definitely very over priced for what you get."

HOTEL R9 The Yard Miyakojima
8.9 (48 reviews)

HOTEL R9 The Yard Miyakojima ★★★

📍 750-1 Hirara Higashinakasone, Miyakojima

"Basically, it's a row of container rooms, but the insulation is excellent. Even when it's 33 degrees Celsius outside during the day, the air conditioning keeps the inside very cool. Facilities: There's a simple vending machine and a washer-dryer combo available. Location: It's a bit far from the city center, about a 6-minute drive. Parking: Each room has its own parking space. Food & Drink: A meal voucher is provided daily, which can be exchanged for one microwaveable meal, two microwaveable rice balls, or a bag of ice. There's also a free coffee machine available."

"The hotel was older than I thought, and the elevator smelled bad. However, the building was cleanly managed, and the room was clean. You can also use the other hotel pool for free by shuttle bus, so it seemed like a good value for money."

Marine Lodge Marea Hotels in Miyakojima

"Contrary to my expectations from the photos, the hotel turned out to be a disappointment. First of all, the information on Trip.com does not match reality. The site stated check-in from 2:00 and check-out until 11:00. In fact, check-in is from 3:00 and check-out is by 10:00. The staff gave no explanation for this discrepancy. Secondly, the site confirmed a room in the new building. However, I was placed in the old building, which, judging by the exterior, looks like it was built in the 19th century. The room matched the condition of the building. All the furniture was very old and worn out, some even with mold. The view and access from the window was onto a shared balcony, which meant that to maintain privacy I had to keep the curtains closed at all times. The noise isolation was terrible — neighbors were loud from 7 AM to 11 PM, making it impossible to sleep. Speaking of the beds, the mattress was extremely hard and the pillows were stiff and uncomfortable. As for breakfast: not only was it limited to 7–9 AM, but the website had advertised a buffet with both European and Japanese options. Upon arrival, it turned out that there were no European options at all, only a fixed Japanese set meal. The only good thing was that at least coffee was available. The hotel has no beach, despite being close to the sea. There is only access to a rocky embankment, where swimming is unsafe. I used the coin laundry service, paying 300 yen just for my clothes to be rinsed in water. There was no detergent provided, nor was it sold at the hotel — I had to go out and buy it separately. The dryer only partially dried the clothes, so I had to finish drying them in the room. If you plan to come by car, keep in mind that there is no lighting in the surrounding area, so driving in such darkness doesn’t feel very safe. Overall, if you are looking for a proper rest and relaxation, I cannot recommend this hotel at all."

UmiOto Miyakojima Guest House with Night Pool Hotels in Miyakojima

UmiOto Miyakojima Guest House with Night Pool

"It was a very clean and nice guesthouse. It was quite a solo trip without a rental car. Taxi use from the airport (2300 yen, 1800 yen for DiDi app first discount) Then I rented a bicycle and went cycling to the color 々. There are no shops in the area, but there is a supermarket within walking distance of the bicycle, and restaurants such as cafes are within walking distance. When I stayed for 2 nights, everyone was traveling alone 々 and enjoyed Yuntaku at night. There were regulars, so I was saved by telling me about the surroundings. Anyway, the kitchen, living room, shower room & The toilet is clean and calm. It was a little cloudy at night, but it was my first experience to lie down on the hammock on the roof and look at the starry sky. I would like to visit slowly in the summer. In summer, you can use the pool and I think it will be more fulfilling. The owner is also kind and the best guesthouse."

Rosewood Miyakojima Hotels in Miyakojima

Rosewood Miyakojima

"This is my seventh Rosewood property and it might be my favorite! (SBH is also highly recommended!) There are so many wonderful things to say about this resort, but I would say the beauty of the property including the stunning reef right off shore, the fresh sushi and service at Choma and the amazing spa were highlights! Specifically, my masseuse Ms. Kin Zing was the best masseuse I have ever had. I really enjoyed using the sauna and spa facilities daily. You can use them even without a treatment so some days I would pop by the sauna for 20 minutes. The treatments were outstanding and the tea service after each appointment was very special. I ended up locating the special Okinawa tea they offered and bringing some home. We had such a wonderful experience dining at Choma, the sushi restaurant, that we elected to dine there every evening. The service was exceptional. Every night they welcomed us to our favorite table and had our drinks and dinner ready without even asking. It was Rosewood service at its finest. Miko who manages the restaurant does a stellar job. And our server Shun was top-notch. Albara was also very attentive. Everyone should learn from Miko because she runs Choma like a Rosewood restaurant should be run. The food offered for the daily complimentary breakfast was also very good. I was a little disappointed in the limited pool menu and service, but this is still a relatively new Rosewood, and I imagine they will improve after receiving feedback. The property itself is stunning. Upon arrival you are able to look out over the entire property and see the gorgeous ocean view. We stayed in a beachfront king and were very pleased with our choice. It was short walk back and forth to the pool and the beach. Our patio and plunge pool had privacy behind the shrubbery. The ocean view rooms appeared to have excellent views over the ocean, but their balconies lacked privacy. However, I think this would be a small trade off for the view. The rooms overlooking the back beach may have more privacy as no one swims at the back beach. If we go back, I will request our same room, 65. A lot of rooms in Japan have twin beds so be sure to request a king room if this is your preference. The rooms are quite large and the bathrooms are spacious as well. This is a very quiet and peaceful property, which we adored. The rooms are tastefully spread out and the property is quite large. The pool area was classic Rosewood and happily not crowded. (It captured the serenity of Las Ventanas without the crowds.) We spent part of each day in a gorgeous and extremely comfortable sun bed adjacent to the pool overlooking the ocean. This was a perfect place to watch the sunset. There was always plenty of room at the pool. There are no chairs on the beach and they weren’t necessary because the pool chairs are directly over the beach. We swam and snorkeled daily in the gorgeous clear water and had the ocean to ourselves. This may be because we brought our own "

"This was our second stay, and it was still fantastic. However, the receptionist at check-in didn't seem very clear on how to explain the facilities—we spent two nights here without ever figuring out how to turn on the hot water for a shower... Also, the room rates during the summer break are way too expensive, and having to scramble for a breakfast reservation every morning is a huge hassle!"

Watermark Hotel Okinawa Miyakojima Hotels in Miyakojima

Watermark Hotel Okinawa Miyakojima

"Watermark was a perfect location for us on a couple’s getaway. Since we were flying into Shimojishima airport and rented a car, we found it to be a very convenient location—only a six minute drive away. Although we could see the runway in the distance, we hardly noticed the noise of air traffic. On top of that, we enjoyed that it was in a remote area and not in the middle of town (like Miyakojima) or in the midst of a major resort area (like Shigira). We didn’t mind exchanging more driving time for more serenity. I could go on about the location but if you are looking for a quiet place on the water, I highly recommend this hotel! The staff were always polite, which is expected in Japan, but there was also a kind of relaxed warmth that I haven’t always felt from staff in other Japanese hotels. The facilities also struck a perfect balance for us. Not garish, not too plain; just enough island flavor but not too much. I was refreshed every time I walked through the lobby. The breakfast buffet area was clean, fairly well organized and offered a great view of the ocean. We enjoyed our breakfast times daily. We used the laundry facilities and found the machines easy to use—glad to have had this option. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from both our room balcony and the rooftop pool. We loved our room. It was simple but had everything we we wanted, including a balcony. If you’ve ever seen a modern Japanese one room apartment, it feels much the same, without the gas range. It was perfect for our stay."

"The location is great; there are supermarkets, convenience stores, Nishimatsuya, and Daiso nearby. Life amenities are very convenient, and the room was very clean. However, due to a typhoon, the public bath was closed. Furthermore, I was asked to extend my stay for another night, which felt like being overcharged (they quoted me for two nights). This was very unpleasant."

"The hotel offers great value for money, is quiet and comfortable, and is located within the resort. Restaurants and souvenir shops are right across the street, and there's also a Little Sheep Hot Pot restaurant nearby. A shuttle bus service from the resort is available. A ten-minute walk will take you to a food stall where you can enjoy a meal while watching a performance."
