The tatami room is a great experience! Check-in can be done before 3 pm, which is a great experience, and they can also book taxis for guests for the next day."

The paid parking lot on the left across the street isn't the hotel parking lot."

"I booked a double room for my solo weekend trip. It was around 7000 yen, but for that price, it was incredibly clean and I was very satisfied. The only downsides were that the nearest convenience store is about a 5-minute walk away, and it's a bit far from the airport, so taxi fares can add up. It's also a bit of a distance to the southern tourist spots. However, if you have a rental car and are staying for a few days as a base for your travels, I think it's a great option."

"Worth every penny! My friends and I rented a car and drove to the hotel. At first, I thought we had taken a wrong turn, but the hotel is actually tucked away behind some farmland, right by the sea – and it's huge! I was pleasantly surprised by the valet parking service. Every day when we picked up the car, there were two ice-cold bottles of water fresh from the fridge, which was incredibly refreshing in the summer heat. Another rare find in Japan was being able to contact the front desk via a messaging app, which was very modern and convenient. Getting a buggy to various places around the resort was astonishingly fast, and the hotel has staff who speak multiple languages. I asked the hotel for some tape, and they didn't have any initially, but they specially prepared some for me later, which I really appreciated. The night sky was absolutely stunning, filled with stars everywhere you looked – it felt so blissful. This Rosewood is truly wonderful and beautiful. I hope to have the chance to visit again!"

"This hotel is truly top-notch in terms of facilities, cleanliness, breakfast, and service. The smiles and kindness shown by all the staff were especially outstanding. I had such a wonderful experience, thanks to the exceptional thoughtfulness and kindness of an employee named Daruma. If I visit this area again, I will definitely stay at Shigira again. The only minor downside was that the parking lot was a bit far, so we had to use the shuttle. While we could get on the shuttle right away, it was a slight inconvenience."

"This hotel just opened at the end of April, and the lobby and rooms have a strong smell of new renovations. I strongly advise against staying here anytime soon. The courtyard in front of the balcony is still under construction, and the air conditioner unit is right on the balcony. It's rare to see a 5-star hotel like this. The hotel service was very good."

"The rooms were large and comfortable, each with its own bathtub and washing machine. Family and friends could chat at the outdoor dining table in the room. Dinner was average. The resort covers the entire area and provides shuttle service to other parts of the resort, which was quite convenient."

"Probably one of the better hotels on this island, as the island itself is quite simple and plain. Though it is a close 5 min taxi ride from Shimojishima airport, costs 900-1000 yen. If you’re not driving, you can ask the hotel to book taxis for you in advance. The view from the room was great, you can see 17End in the distance, nothing blocking your view of the ocean and all its glory, basically all rooms have the same view since it’s a “one-sided” hotel. Breakfast wasn’t fancy, but it did the job. Free coffee basically all day."

"We stayed there for two nights. However, upon check-in, we were told that breakfast wouldn't be available on the second day because the café was closed. Upon check-out, I saw three couples having breakfast there. When I asked why we weren't offered breakfast, all I heard was "sorry, sorry." The bed in the room is terribly hard! The wooden floor squeaks with every step. I don't recommend this hotel."
