Mountain View Hotels in Yamanakako

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We arrived at midnight, and it was so dark we couldn't see the tiny 'P' sign for the campsite. We ended up parking at the bank's lot just ahead and dragging our luggage over, and my hands were freezing. Later, I realized the camp hotel had sent me a map with the location and room code – all that suffering for nothing! Luckily, the room was exceptionally clean, with a gas stove, microwave, and BBQ grill all fully equipped and neatly organized, ready for us to use. What was truly a special surprise was that the host had even pre-filled the bathtub with water for our arrival. The next morning, when I stepped outside for a walk, I discovered Mount Fuji right behind us – it was absolutely amazing! Many thanks to the host for providing us with such a wonderful experience. Driving to Oshino Hakkai the next day only took about fifteen minutes.

Booked last minute the night before. Great price and location. Low price was the main reason for booking. The shock and big surprise was the 11 out of 10 service and TLC I got from the owner Marie. I stayed in a room with its own bath shower toilet. Best customer careI have ever had even compared to a high end hotel for $200 a night. Yes you read that right. Something about these smaller hotels and the quality of service can't be matched. Very clean and very cute stay for exploring the Fuji mountain area. She speaks Chinese, Japanese and some English. And an amazing cook. Wow I was thankful I chose to eat at the hotel and not out somewhere else. My Bed was also very comfortable. Great sleep. It was More comfortable than the Disney Hilton Tokyo bay for $200 a night. Terrible beds.

Since all other room types were unavailable, we stayed in a 6-person room. It was incredibly spacious, and pretty much every room offered an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji (weather permitting). The bathroom was huge and even had a private onsen and a sauna. Each room type came with dinner (BBQ) and breakfast for two. The portions were decent, though don't expect too much from the breakfast. The location is great, very close to Lake Yamanaka's attractions, only about a 10-minute drive away. There's also a fairly large supermarket right next door, just a minute's drive, which was super convenient for restocking. However, due to the glamping site's location, you can't see the sunrise with Mount Fuji in the same frame. I had planned to wake up early to catch the sunrise, but it turns out the sun rises on the opposite side. Overall, aside from being a bit pricey, everything else was perfect. The staff were very nice, and their English communication was excellent.

This was my first time visiting Mount Fuji, and I decided to experience a traditional guesthouse. I chose one closer to Fuji, in Lake Yamanaka. Transportation: Very convenient, whether by bus or train. On the way there, I took the Fujikaiyu from Shinjuku, spent some time in Kawaguchiko, then checked the schedule and took either the A1 or F1 bus to the entrance of Hana no Miyako Park, a 3-minute walk away. For the return trip, I took the highway bus from Yamanakako Station (I bought tickets in advance, choosing the Japanese option to get this stop). Environment: Lake Yamanaka is incredibly peaceful, with very few tourists. We stayed in room 202, which offered a view of Mount Fuji. Although the room didn't have a private bathroom, the shared onsen (hot spring) and shower facilities felt much more authentic! They were very clean, and the hot spring was wonderfully relaxing! Just note that the onsen closes at 10 PM. Food: Supermarkets, convenience stores, and 100-yen shops are all within a 10-minute walk. Scenery: The guesthouse offered electric-assist bicycles for rent. I don't quite remember the price, but the bikes were easy to ride and saved a lot of effort. I highly recommend cycling around the lake! Minor drawback: The soundproofing wasn't great; I could hear the alarm from the next room at 4:30 AM.

The cabin was very clean and well maintained, with all equipment and amenities in excellent condition. Everything felt new and thoughtfully prepared, making the stay very comfortable. The self check-in and check-out process was easy and convenient. The highlight was definitely the beautiful view of Mount Fuji — waking up and seeing Fuji so clearly was unforgettable.

Admittedly, the facilities are quite old, so while the hygiene is acceptable, it can't compare to a standard hotel. However, the location is absolutely superb. The old gentleman running the place is very kind and even recommended local eateries and bike shops. For this price point, it's an ideal choice, and I'd definitely stay here again if the price remains the same.

Definitely one of the best stays during my Japan trip so far. The host Leslie was super friendly and welcoming, he walked us through everything we needed to know and even gave us a little tour of the place. The highlight for me was definitely the three different types of onsen (something I was really looking forward to!), and the rooms were clean, spacious, and really comfortable. He even drove us to the nearest convenience store when he found out we hadn’t had dinner yet, which was such a kind gesture. Breakfast the next morning (Western-style) was amazing too. Would 200% come back again!

I have enjoyed my stay and have a pleasant time in hotel mifuji, I feel family warm welcome while staying here and have an unforgettable experience as they organize new year celebration during my stay here and enjoy the mochi and soba . Thank you for the hospitality and “happy new year 😉”

I love Yamanakako and have stayed around the lake 5 or 6 times over the past 4 years and at various different places. For me and my needs, this was the best place that I have stayed at so far. Reasonably-priced, with a great, lake-side location (and Fuji-san views behind) and easy (walkable) access to restaurants and convenience stores (7-11 is the nearest). Our tatami room was nice and clean and although it didn't have its own toilet, the shared facilities (toilets and separate bath) were also very clean. The staff were friendly too. I like to try staying at new places but would happily (and most probably will) stay at Lakepia Angel again. That would give me the opportunity to try the food, which I didn't experience this time. From the room, you can see Mount Fuji. It is very fast to go to the shore of Hirano. If you want to see the morning sunshine in Jinshan, you can open the curtains to see the clarity of Mount Fuji today and then decide whether to go downstairs. There is a private bathroom in the room. The room is large and the hotel is not new overall. You have to carry your luggage upstairs without elevator. It takes7-8 minutes to drag your luggage from Hirano bus station to the hotel.
