"This village is all about beachfront holidays, and its pros and cons revolve around that. **Pros:** The private, secluded cabins offer unbeatable ocean views. You can lie on the terrace lounge chair at night, accompanied by the sound of waves and sea breeze, under a sky full of stars. During the day, various fish and birds keep you company. It's a diving resort, with both scuba diving and snorkeling available. I heard the diving is good, but I didn't try scuba. The snorkeling right off the beach near the village entrance wasn't great. So, we hired a private boat to go snorkeling elsewhere, which was excellent; we saw multiple sea turtles. **Cons:** What made it great also made it less so. The cabin is drafty on all four sides, and the air conditioning is really weak and blows directly onto the bed, almost making me sick. However, it was still better than opening the windows. The ocean waves in the morning were definitely louder than a bus downstairs. The most bizarre thing was that only the terrace had curtains; the rest of the cabin didn't. So, the morning sun shone directly onto the head of the bed, which I guess is due to its orientation. These are points where opinions might differ. Most frustratingly, aside from scuba diving and snorkeling, there are no other entertainment options in the village. Under the tropical sun, everyone just retreats to their rooms. Plus, scuba and snorkeling are handled at separate locations. I have to complain about the somewhat old facilities. You can see sea fish through the gaps in the wooden floorboards. The bathroom had various issues: the toilet needed two flushes (and I, being an engineer, still can't figure out why), the overhead shower only produced about a third of its normal water flow, with the rest squirting out horizontally onto the partition. Luckily, there was a handheld shower that worked for one day. The next evening, the handle broke off when I tried to turn it on, and water started gushing out. So, two security guards came, both claiming they were just security. The last time, around 11 PM, I was already in bed when three people arrived, again stating they'd fix it tomorrow. The next day, both showers were repaired... The food was... edible, I guess. In short, this village is a matter of personal taste."

"This hotel is more like a hostel. The front desk is tiny, and the conditions, facilities, and service are on par with a budget motel. The worst part was the breakfast; aside from eggs, bread, and plain congee, there was hardly anything else to eat. Even if the hardware can't be changed, for a several-hundred-dollar room rate, couldn't they offer a better breakfast? I can only say the owner is incredibly greedy! It truly doesn't justify the 900+ per night price! To be fair, the room hygiene was decent. If the room rate was 300, these conditions would be acceptable, but for a star-rated hotel price, it's completely misleading and infuriating!"

Plus, it's only about a 10-minute walk to the seafood market. The owner is a very straightforward and friendly guy from Northeast China. We even bought some seafood ourselves and the hotel was able to cook it for us. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends when they visit next time."

"A magnificent experience. A simple, clean hotel in an exceptional location. The best sunset I've ever seen. A local hotel, with no entertainment for foreigners, which was appreciated. We were able to enjoy karaoke with other Malaysian guests. Perfect if you want to relax. Local food, especially fish and crabs in the evening. The water is crystal clear and you can see fish, even turtles. There's no coral. Perfect if you want peace and quiet in a simple place to rest. You can buy lobster or seafood from fishermen who come ashore and they'll cook it for you at the hotel. We went snorkeling and saw many coral fish, including Nemo. Good guides."

Perhaps due to the materials used in the renovations, you could hear everything going on upstairs. This definitely needs improvement, especially considering it costs 700 RMB per night. "

"1️⃣ The location is about 1.2km from the pier, a 20-minute walk or a hotel shuttle bus. However, the road there is very bad, with no sidewalks, making it somewhat dangerous at night. 2️⃣ The hotel is located in a courtyard. Check-in and hotel staff all work in the courtyard. If someone is talking outside, you can hear them inside, as there is virtually no soundproofing. Similarly, conversations inside can be heard by passersby outside. Those seeking privacy and quiet should think twice. 3️⃣ The rooms are very basic. There are no curtains, only Roman blinds. The bathroom doesn't even have curtains. 😰 If you stay on the first floor, there's practically no privacy at night. Why didn't they even bother with curtains? It's really unpleasant. 4️⃣ It's very noisy at night. There are all sorts of insect and bird chirps, motorcycles passing by, and a constant, inexplicable mechanical humming outside my room. It was incredibly noisy. Then, at 4 AM, they started chanting prayers through a loudspeaker next door. I basically spent the whole night surrounded by noise; it was torture! 😩 5️⃣ Breakfast was just an egg and a bowl of noodles. After that, you could go island hopping. In short, I wouldn't recommend staying here at this price. It's just too noisy. The most important thing about staying in a hotel is rest, and the room lacks privacy without curtains. It rains frequently here, and there's a musty, watery smell on the first floor. It's a very average hotel, not worth the price. Personally, I think if you're going to be noisy anyway, you might as well stay near the pier."

You should definitely try all the complimentary activities; just be sure to communicate your preferences. A special shout-out to the slimmer, quieter guy who was great at snorkeling, and the guy who used a DJI drone for filming."

"Standard Room is very small and dated. There's loads of plastic and other rubbish on the beach and just behind the hotel's fence. People living nearby were running some engine or generator so there was a constant laud noise. Often they also burnt something, so there was also an unpleasant smell. The food at the restaurant is at best mediocre, but more often simply disgusting. We hardly ate there. I also got upset stomach for 2 days out of 3 of our stay. Some staff speak very limited English so they give you either wrong information or just ignore you (e.g. not brining more pancakes). The restaurant seems to run out of food at meal times and no-one is bothered to bring more, until they are asked to. Staff at the Divers Bar is not present or simply indifferent to customers. There's occasionally some extra rubbish between villas, seemed only cleaned every few days. I can't imagine ever going back to this hotel."
