"I did some research before heading to Semporna, and all the reviews mentioned that the accommodation in Semporna town wasn't great. I kept managing my family's expectations right up until we arrived at the hotel. But the moment we stepped into our room, we were incredibly satisfied – it truly exceeded our expectations! As a family of four, we booked the Deluxe Suite with a street view. It had two king-sized rooms, each with its own bathroom, and a central indoor patio with natural light where we could sit and have tea. There was also a large balcony outside, perfect for hanging our swimsuits to dry after our daily boat trips; they'd be ready by the next day. The room was quite spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and ample moving space. The hygiene was also good, clean and tidy. The hotel's location is excellent too, just a 5-minute walk to Dragon Inn, the main gathering point for Semporna diving. Downstairs, there's a Starbucks, Pizza Hut, a milk tea shop, a grocery store, a convenience store, and seafood restaurants. After a day out at sea, we could wash up and then just head downstairs for food if we didn't want to go far. This was especially great after getting ripped off at the famous Ah Cheng Seafood Restaurant; comparing it to the Hailong Seafood Restaurant downstairs at the hotel, the latter was so much better! The hotel also offers Chinese-speaking staff, which made communication very convenient. We could just WeChat the hotel butler with any questions. The only minor drawback was that the hotel breakfast wasn't very tasty, but everything else was great."

"Although this hotel isn't located directly in town, they thoughtfully provide a shuttle service, so transportation is absolutely no concern. The customer service response time is incredibly fast overall, and any questions are answered promptly. As a new hotel, all the facilities are brand new and well-equipped, including smart toilets and smart curtains. The rooms are spotless and tidy, making for an excellent stay. The only minor issue is that the pool water was a bit cloudy. After booking, a butler proactively adds you on WeChat and provides detailed check-in instructions in advance, which is a very thoughtful service. Considering our early flight arrival, the butler even requested an early check-in from the owner for us. The front desk staff are gentle and friendly, and there's a Chinese-speaking butler available. Any requests made in the group chat are quickly addressed, ensuring seamless communication. We didn't try the hotel's dining this time, but browsing the menu, it's clear there's a wide variety of food options. The only slight drawback is that the prices are a bit high. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay, highly recommended!"

"The room was very new and clean. I chose this hotel because I saw that it was renovated in 2026, which immediately caught my eye. Although it's a 10-minute walk from the town center, it's very clean, tidy, and quiet. There's also a place to dry clothes and you can store your luggage, so overall I was very satisfied. My favorite part was the hairdryer; it was super powerful and convenient. I even took a picture of the brand and found out it's from Flyco, a Chinese brand. Plus, you don't need an adapter; our plugs work directly. I forgot to take pictures inside the room. Overall it's clean, and the service is good. What kind of tree is this in the hotel courtyard? There are bougainvilleas everywhere."

"Compared to the noisy, crowded hotels in town, these individual wooden cabins offer spacious, immaculately clean accommodations, free from any damp or musty smells, and with comfortable bedding. It's tough to maintain greenery in a seaside, saline environment, but the bougainvillea, jackfruit, and longan trees in the resort are all thriving, clearly showing excellent daily care. The shuttle runs continuously to and from the pier, so you don't have to worry about getting to your boat tours or buying supplies. The air conditioning works perfectly all day, and the soundproofing and insulation are excellent. I feel that whether for a short vacation or an extended stay, the comfort here far surpasses any other hotel in town."

"I was really disappointed with this hotel experience. (The staff were very friendly, but the hotel facilities and soundproofing were poor.) The bathroom facilities were extremely basic, and the overall room amenities felt cheap and ordinary. Perhaps due to the materials used in the renovations, you could hear everything going on upstairs. This definitely needs improvement, especially considering it costs 700 RMB per night. 🫪"

"Let's start with customer service: For two days, I tried to find out which pier the boat to the hotel departed from. Luckily, they eventually mentioned there's a Starbucks nearby, and locals at the pier told me to look for guys in orange t-shirts. We arrived quickly and comfortably. Check-in was fast. The bungalow is well-designed and thought out: sea view, veranda, direct access to the water. But the execution is poor: signs of repair, no lights on the terrace – just wires sticking out of the wall, cracked tiles on the sink, dirty floors and table on the veranda, the books and radio are just props, and the flowers by the front door are plastic. We saw a cockroach in the room… the fan didn't work – they said it was decorative 😆. They brought the kids a mattress which they just put on the floor. Unfortunately, there's no fridge or wardrobe in the room. The terrace is spacious and comfortable, on the sunny side, but it's impossible to be there during the day: there's no umbrella or awning for shade (there was an umbrella in the photos). There were no beach towels either. Food was monotonous and sparse, very few fruits: mostly watermelon and melon. Strange drinks and bottled water, no tea or coffee, but you could buy beer and other drinks separately. Activities: Snorkeling – practically non-existent, nothing to see. SUP-boards and a transparent boat – the kids had fun using them 👍. It's nice to sit in an armchair or lie in a hammock on the terrace in the evening as the sun sets 👍. If the wind comes from Semporna, bottles and other trash will float by in the water 🫣. There's construction nearby; the hotel is expanding. The staff tried their best and were always ready to help 🙂. The hotel is good for photos by the water, but not for a comfortable stay. I didn't like it. The hotel is not cheap and not worth the money paid. I cannot recommend it."

"Five stars, full marks! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. Front desk staffer Xiao En was quick and efficient, and getting around was convenient. Xiao En speaks Chinese, which was incredibly helpful and attentive. He was able to handle any issues we had, and the service was excellent. The hotel is newly opened, so the hygiene is top-notch. There are plenty of food options nearby, right by the seafood market, and it's super easy to get to the pier. The overall experience exceeded expectations. The facilities were complete and worked well, the WiFi was stable, and both check-in and check-out were smooth."

"I chose to stay at the Elf Resort for one night before my flight. The environment was very comfortable and quiet at night. The butler could help me with all my travel questions, including airport transfers and pier pickups. Anything I needed, the butler knew, and the service was excellent! Even though it's not in town, it's not a problem because there's a pier shuttle service, and it only takes about 15 minutes to get there. Plus, the environment is much better than in town. There were also rambutan trees all around the property, and they were in season with some already red. The butler even let us pick some, which was my first time seeing rambutan trees – the kids were so happy. Overall, I highly recommend Elf Resort – it's fantastic!!!"

"The hotel was exceptionally clean and quiet at night. I've noticed that many hotels are located on busy streets with constant traffic noise, but here I slept wonderfully. The balcony was perfect for drying clothes, and there's an elevator. The staff were all very welcoming, the air conditioning was strong, and there was plenty of hot water. Both the room door and the balcony window could be securely locked, which made me feel very safe. The town isn't large, so it's convenient to walk everywhere. When checking out to go to the water bungalow, it was raining, so I took a taxi to Longmen Inn Jetty for 4 MYR, which was just the minimum fare. I was extremely satisfied with my choice of hotel this time."
