"Trip was for my 72nd birthday celebration. Other than some confusion on the room (we were sent to a cove view room instead of the ocean view - but that go fixed) it was a beautiful location and the food in the restaurant was very good."

Holiday Inn Express WINDSOR SONOMA WINE COUNTRY by IHG

Holiday Inn Express WINDSOR SONOMA WINE COUNTRY by IHG

📍 8865 Conde Ln, Windsor
★★★ 9.0 (105 reviews)

"Good location that is easy on or off Highway 101. The place feels old and overall used. Rooms are clean and fair. The bathroom Towels are paper-thin; I have had better towels at Motel 6, so I was not impressed with the towel quality. Could not dry myself. Breakfast was cofffee so I can say anything about the actual offerings."

Hotel Petaluma, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

📍 205 Kentucky Street, Petaluma
★★★★ 8.4 (3 reviews)

"This is a boutique-type hotel in downtown Petaluma, CA. It was once a bank building, and there are "left-overs" in the decor from that era: exposed piping, an elevator with a lot of character(!), and a very distinctive street entrance. There's a beautiful outdoor court-yard that I found relaxing. Breakfast is offered in a little cafe, and guests are given a room-credit per day. Beds, bathroom and linens are great! Only difficulty was parking, which is common in such city-settings. We didn't need to use the off-site parking, but it was offered with a pass for the car. In walking distance to food, shops, and entertainment. Stay here when you're in Petaluma!"

The Inn at the Tides

The Inn at the Tides

📍 800 Bay Hwy, Bodega Bay
★★ 9.2 (107 reviews)

"Cute and quaint stay. The hot tub and pool were still not functioning during our stay, which was a disappointment for the kids. Other nice amenities for this area were that there was cable tv in the room and Wi-Fi available which other hotels I’ve stayed at in this area did not offer. I did not realize this hotel was actually located across the street from the water so it’s not actually waterfront as I had anticipated mentally when I thought about where The Tides was located. It’s still a very nice location and very close by to The Tides, though. I would stay here again. "

"Staying on a day whwn the weather was horrible undoutably did not help this being good review as we were unable to use the pool areas or enjoy the balconies or the bikes etc but I have to say I was disappointed in the room itself given the cost. When it costs in the $600 range I expected more. 300 square feet, with one chair, a bench along one wall facing away from the TV and a work space that I can only describe as laughable is less than I expected. I confess if I had paid more attention to the pictures, they were accurate. The quality of the bedding and the towels etc were top notch as were the robes and other aids. The fridge was strange but it met our needs. The lighting was interesting. Lights turned them selves off and on automatically not always when you wanted them to, including in the middle of the night if you did not want wake your partner. When the lights went off in half the room we were startled but it seems this just might be to keep the electric bill down as when we rentered the area they came back on. They tell you the internet and parking are free but are they? They were the only two things I recieved for a $60 resort fee. On the bright side the staff was excellent though they would benifit having a larger check in area. The dinner at their restaurant was outstanding. Beware, that if you have any walking disabilities some rooms not on the first floor are only accessible via the stair way. Our designated room was one of them and we have disabilities. The staff was able to do some moving around and all was well but if you are going to stay there make sure they are aware."

"The location was good and private so my friend and I could enjoy our getaway. Also, they brought us everything that we needed and asked for. However, the bathroom had refillable, shared amenities that were in a horrible condition. The conditioner bottle had moldy growth. Disgusting!"

The Gables Wine Country Inn Hotels in Sonoma County

The Gables Wine Country Inn

"My son, daughter-in-law, and I were in Sonoma for a family wedding, and we had the great good fortune to stay at The Gables Wine Country Inn. The Victorian-era house is beautiful, the beds are good, and the surroundings are stunning. It was wonderful to sit with a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the back deck/swing/hammocks and view the mountains, a small stand of redwood trees, and the tall sunflowers growing nearby. A short walk takes you to the inn's own vineyard and blackberry bushes! And then there are the breakfasts, which were, in a word, fabulous. Pam and Larry Willis are excellent hosts who gave us good advice on where to go and how to get there. This inn is a truly magical place."

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa Hotels in Sonoma County

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

"Compared with the Fairmont brand, this hotel is a little weaker. The refrigerator has no electricity and the socket fell to the ground and was not found. The front desk asked me to pay an extra 100 euros to change the double bed and said that the room was very beautiful. After entering, it was old and gloomy. It was average."

"Stepping into the hotel felt like stepping back in time. Although the room facilities were old and had a hint of age, it didn't diminish my enjoyment at all. Because it's located by the road, it can be a bit noisy at night, but overall, I could get a good night's sleep. My only disappointment was the service at the front desk. A thin, white woman spoke dismissively and her face clearly showed prejudice against Asians. The hotel was great, and I hope to come back, but I'm also worried about having a similar unpleasant experience…"

SONOMA VALLEY INN, TAPESTRY COLLECTION BY HILTON ★★★★
"This was the largest standard twin room on this West Coast trip. This size is what a West Coast hotel should be like! The bedding was high-quality and very comfortable. The only downside was finding all the light switches – the switch for the bedside light strip was near the headboard and a bit hard to find. There was a mention of parking fees, but they weren't charged. The parking lot seemed like typical free hotels – no barriers or staff. There was no free breakfast, which wasn't really necessary, especially since there's a large supermarket across the street; you could buy a lot of food for around ten dollars. The price of under two hundred dollars is acceptable, but the cheapest option was a hearing-impaired room, meaning it was a bit noisy by the street. However, Sonoma is relatively quiet, so it's not a big deal."

Hotel Petaluma, Tapestry Collection by Hilton ★★★★
"I liked a lot about this hotel. And I liked all the staff I met. I never met the manager but I am almost certain I wouldn't like them. And for that reason I won't go back. Here's why: The strict check-in time is a huge turn-off. You show up at 1:30p, and it's $50 additional to get into your room because check-in time is FIRMLY 3pm. And at 2:45pm you still need to pay an additional $25? (And staff was trained to say, hey we are just really busy and we've got a lot of rooms to turn over -- to which I said, well that doesn't change whether or not I fork over another fifty dollars, does it? Either the rooms are available or not.) It just isn't a way to welcome someone into a hotel. What did I like? The staff are cheerful and kind, even when they have to enforce an absurd check-in policy. Hot coffee at 5am by the friendliest night auditor ever. Beds are comfortable and clean and the rooms are well-decored. Not to like? No onsite parking and you get a highly-detailed soliloquoy about parking options (none of them are ideal) instead of a nicely manicured handout. Likely you'll end up parking on the street and moving your car every two hours. No gym facilities, but you can go to 24 Hour Fitness. Do you have a courtesy relationship with them? No, no we don't. Do you have a business center where I can print out materials? No, but send us an email and we'll print it for you. What's the email? Email is uttered -- and it's long. I try and repeat it back. I mess up. They start looking for a business card and can't find one. Verdict: Super cute hotel. Houskeeping is awesome, staff are great. Management is terrible. I'm going back to Petaluma next week but I have already cancelled my reservation here because I'm arriving in the middle of the day and I want to be welcomed when I arrive and that won't happen here. I'll stay at a franchise hotel down the street where, if there's a room available, I'm pretty sure they'll let me in."
