Chennai Hotels with Pools

I stayed at the hotel from 29 May 2026 to 7 Jun 2026. Except for an unpleasant encounter with the gym staff who tailed me from the gym to the sauna/changing area on 1 Jun, I was always greeted with a bright smile and respect from the moment I set foot at the front entrance until I entered my room. I would particularly like to commend the doormen Ilayarajah, Yuvi and Loganathan, the catering team John and his team members Subbu, Suresh, Siva and Vinoth as well as Venkat and his concierge team. Regarding the gym incident, I was visiting birding sites for my Chennai trip so had to carry a big backpack for my Sony camera and sufficient water supply for the very warm weather. On the above-mentioned day, I had returned a little earlier in the evening and headed straight to the gym in my birding gear. I was annoyed when the gym staff tailed me to the sauna area and left to tell the Guest Relations Staff at the Lobby.

I spent a night in this Hotel while in a business trip in Chennai. Honestly speaking, i was positively surprised. The staff was professional and helpful. The room was top notch, well maintained with plenty of options and amenities. The food choice was also great; i tried the Kebab factory restaurant and it was one of the best meal i had in my trip. The hotel is also conveniently located near the airport and they provide a complimentary shuttle to the airport. Great Price / Quality ratio. Highly Recommended

Overall, I had a good stay, as I usually do at this hotel. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. Most of the staff were warm, professional, and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. A special shoutout to Vijay, who always checks in to make sure everything is going well. He always has great recommendations on places to visit and genuinely makes guests feel welcome. There were a couple of issues this time that made my stay slightly disappointing. Our room key cards stopped working a few times during the stay. The staff resolved the issue quickly each time, but it was still inconvenient having to head back to the front desk after a long day out. The biggest issue we had was with room service, when I ordered tea and found a fly in it. While the staff eventually waived the charges for the entire meal, the service recovery could have been handled much better. The following day, I developed food poisoning and was violently ill for the next week. While I can’t say for certain it was related, the timing after the fly incident left me slightly concerned about the food hygiene standards. I hope these were isolated incidents, as I’ve generally had very positive stays here and would still consider returning the next time I’m in India.

The hotel is good, and the service was very nice. There was a wide spread of options in the buffet. The initial room we were given had a damp smell, but as soon as I reported it, the staff promptly swapped it for a better one. Overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel's location is superb, within walking distance of the LIC metro station and the large shopping mall EA Avenue. The staff provided excellent service, explaining everything clearly and thoroughly. A great bonus for environmentally conscious guests is the reusable glass water bottles provided in the rooms – a commendable effort to reduce plastic waste in the hospitality industry. The hotel's buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and good quality food, ensuring even non-local guests (whose bodies might not be accustomed to Indian cuisine for every meal) can enjoy their dining experience with various cuisines available. Additionally, the hotel's rooftop restaurant boasts a fantastic ambiance and serves a selection of Asian dishes. While some might not be entirely authentic (for instance, the Tom Yum Goong shown in the picture wasn't a perfect balance of sour, spicy, and salty, with the salty flavor being more prominent), I believe these are adjustments made to cater to local preferences, such as increasing the salt content in dishes to compensate for the hot weather and increased perspiration.

Returning to this location after eight years, I was hoping for the same 5star experience I once enjoyed. Unfortunately, it’s not quite what it used to be, and the property is beginning to show its age. On a positive note, the staff were warm and courteous throughout—from the reception to the restaurant team. Their professionalism and friendliness was a highlight of the stay. The restaurant manager Nazim was helpful. However, the room was disappointing. Upon entering, there was a strong musty odor. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told all the rooms have this smell and that it would dissipate in about 10 minutes—but unfortunately, it lingered. It seems guests may simply become accustomed to it over time. Not me.. lol. The Colony restaurant offered a decent breakfast, though dinner not that much. It felt overcrowded and cramped, and the buffet menu was not the greatest, with food quality was just average. The key strengths of this location remain its convenient setting, friendly staff, and ample parking. With some updates and improvements, it could once again live up to its former reputation.

Location: Excellent Facilities: Good Service: Unsatisfactory 1. There was no one to greet us upon arrival 2. Our suitcases were unattended and we had to carry them to our room ourselves. 3. Mosquitoes everywhere. 4. We had to request for mosquito repellent. The hotel staff should be more attentive and ensure rooms are stocked with essentials. 5. The food we ordered for in-room dining was not even warm (forget hot food). We only ordered some fries and a sandwich - not sure if the fries were prepared and shipped from France 😂 Will never opt this place again.

This hotel scores highly on airport proximity and overall value for money. While the interior and facilities are a bit dated, it's thankfully clean with no noticeable odors. Airplane noise from takeoffs and landings isn't an issue, ensuring a good night's sleep. It's a great choice for transit passengers looking for a budget-friendly option.

We felt super welcomed and well taken care of from the moment we alighted our transport from the airport. The staff were all pleasant and warm, making the stay really comfortable and cosy. Room was comfortably sized and clean, toilet was also clean. There were many channels to watch on the TV. Breakfast was great, we especially loved the live stations where we can order dosa and scrambled eggs. Loved the chai.  Our room was also facing the river and we could raptor watch quite close from our window! Super exciting watching Black Kites swooping around.  The only down side is that soundproofing wasn’t the best and amenities look a little aged, but we aren’t too bothered and still enjoyed our stay.
