PPHUONG ANH PHAM LEThe hostel is good overall. The staff are extremely friendly, warm, and attentive. I had heavy luggage, and one of them helped me carry it upstairs (there’s no elevator) without me even having to ask the second time—really appreciated.❤️
The room is modern and clean. The cleaning lady sweeps the floor and takes out the trash every day. The location is excellent, very close to Subway Line 10, which covers most major tourist attractions, so there’s little need to change lines. Overall, it’s great value for budget travelers.
The only downside is that the bunk beds are quite squeaky. My first upper-bunk roommate moved a lot, and every movement felt like I was being shaken. Luckily, my second roommate was much gentler—she spoke softly and was very careful when getting into bed. That part really comes down to luck. You can still feel the bed move whenever the other person moves. If you’re a light sleeper, this might not be the best choice for you.

GGuest UserThe moment you step into this hostel, you're greeted by a clean and tidy atmosphere. The common areas are spotless, with floors so shiny you could see your reflection. Sofas, tables, and chairs are neatly arranged, with no clutter, which really brightens your mood. The hostel's hygiene is truly impeccable! You can see staff diligently cleaning the common areas every day, from the stair railings and hallway walls to the bathrooms and washrooms – everything is kept remarkably clean.

The room was clean and spacious, well-equipped with comfortable bedding. The soundproofing was good, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. Great value for money, I would definitely choose to stay here again.

PPato LuI stayed for one night at Dengba Inn and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The location is excellent—just a few meters from the Zhenxin New Village subway station, which made it very easy to find and convenient for getting around Shanghai.
The hostel has a spacious common area that’s clean, well-lit, and perfect for relaxing or socializing with other travelers. It gave the place a cozy, welcoming vibe.
My room was also larger than expected for a 6-person dorm, with plenty of space to move around and store luggage. The bed was soft and comfortable, and although I had to make the bed myself (which was a bit unusual), the bedding was clean and neatly stored inside the locker along with ample space for my belongings. Once set up, it felt very homey and private.
Bathrooms and shared facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the whole place had a relaxed, backpacker-friendly atmosphere. Staff were polite and helpful, although I didn’t need much assistance during my short stay.
For budget-conscious travelers or those looking for an easy, comfortable place to stay near public transport, I’d highly recommend Dengba Inn. It offers great value for money, with clean rooms, a fantastic location, and a chill vibe that makes it easy to feel at home—even if just for a night.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just seven or eight minutes from the subway station. If you're coming from the train station or heading to Nanjing Road or the Bund, I recommend taking bus 930; it's less crowded, close to the hotel, and only one or two stops away. The lady at the front desk was very kind; there was an available room, so I was able to check in early. Thank you. The facilities are comprehensive, with a double-door refrigerator, a bathtub, a shower, a smart toilet, and high-end brand air conditioning. Even the hairdryer is a reputable brand worth several hundred yuan. The experience was truly great. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I'll definitely choose this place again when I visit Shanghai in the future. The only downsides were a bit of dampness and some noise from the construction work going on outside the building. That was a bit disappointing. However, it wasn't an issue at night as they stopped working. Overall, it was still perfect. Getting food delivery or groceries was also very convenient.

GGuest UserThe location was in a lively part of Jing'an, although a little far from Jiangsu Road Station. I enjoyed the bicycle ride to the temple nearby, as it was a pretty neighborhood.
Unfortunately, that is pretty much all the good things I have to say about this place. The facilities, the entire place in general, was old and run-down. I was assigned a bed at the far end of the room where my cell service cut off. Not really the establishment's fault but something worth mentioning in my opinion as the wifi was often slow. A section of the wood of the opposite bunk bed was black and seemed to be rotting. The air smelled moldy. The bed was huge though, which was nice. The place did not seemed to be getting the love and care it needed. The bathroom facilities were tiny with two shower stalls and a toilet (plus another separate one some distance away). It wasn't dirty necessarily but it wasn't exactly clean either. I did not feel comfortable using it however. None of the staff I interacted with spoke English (my fault for not learning some basic Chinese at least). I was disappointed by the quality I was met with since this is apparently the flagship? It wasn't cheaper compared to other hostels either.
I felt bad but had to shorten my reservation and moved to a different place. But your standards might vary.

The overall environment is clean and hygienic. The communal tables are generally clean, though the white one could be a bit dirtier.
There are several restrooms. The one near the mirror in the women's restroom can sometimes be a bit dirty, but the others are all very clean, as are the sinks. Just note that no disposable toiletries are provided, and the room itself is quite small, making it hard to fit luggage.

The dormitory beds have curtains for privacy, a mirror, and charging sockets. The shared bathrooms were clean. Overall, I had a great stay.
