"The owner was incredibly kind. The room we originally booked didn't have a view of the snowy mountains, so she proactively upgraded us to a room that did. She helped us with our luggage, brought it to our room, and even turned on the heating for us, showing us how to use it. We were so lucky to be able to see the 'golden mountains under the sunrise' (sunlight on snow-capped peaks) right from our room. When checking out, she even offered a ride, even though the distance was very short.
The hotel's location is also convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the snow mountain observation deck, and there are plenty of restaurants outside, so you won't have to worry about finding food."

"We arrived at the hotel very late at night, and I was worried about parking. To my surprise, the owner was incredibly helpful and personally drove us to the parking spot. All the surrounding supermarkets were closed, so we couldn't buy any food, but the owner thoughtfully brought us two cups of instant noodles, which was incredibly heartwarming.
I was experiencing some altitude sickness, but this hotel is equipped with diffused oxygen, and the oxygen supply was very stable throughout the night. I slept incredibly soundly and comfortably, which greatly alleviated my altitude sickness discomfort. The room's amenities are excellent, with a humidifier and hairdryer readily available. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and it's clean and tidy, making for a truly fantastic stay.
The owner is genuinely warm and welcoming, and the accommodation is comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Feilai Temple. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

"This hotel is excellent and highly recommended. On the day of arrival, the owner helped me carry my luggage to the room because I was struggling with altitude sickness. Then, he guided me to parking and even thoughtfully placed chocks behind my car's rear wheels. In the morning, when my car was blocked, the owner immediately found the other car owner to move it. It wasn't until I reached Markam that I realized I had left my shoulder bag in the room. I contacted the owner, and he very kindly went out of his way to mail it to me in Lhasa from the county town. If I could give it a ten out of ten, I definitely would! Plus, the room offers a perfect, unobstructed view of the 'sun-kissed golden mountains,' so there's no need to go to a separate viewpoint. Highly, highly recommended."

"The price was quite high for the May Day holiday, but the room was excellent, so I'd say it was worth the money. The front desk staff were very friendly and even reminded us to set an alarm to see the snowy mountains in the morning when we checked in. The room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with smart home features throughout. It had all the amenities, including underfloor heating, an oxygen generator, and a huge projector for screen casting. We could even see the tip of the snowy mountains from the window 🏔️, but unfortunately, it was very foggy that day, and by the time I wanted to take a picture, they were no longer visible. It's very close to the bus stop, about a 10-minute walk, but there are a lot of uphill and downhill sections, so try not to bring too much luggage. Highly recommended, I hope everyone gets to see Meili Snow Mountain as they wish."

My stay this time was fantastic! The hotel environment is quiet and elegant, and the room was spotlessly clean with great natural light and ventilation. GGuest UserService: The butler contacted us a day before to confirm our arrival time. Since we were arriving late in the evening, they thoughtfully arranged for afternoon tea to be delivered to our room. We had two rooms booked for two nights, and they upgraded us to the Muyun King Room. Due to a sudden change in plans and a family emergency, we had to cancel one night, and the hotel staff handled the cancellation very smoothly.
Cleanliness: Very clean. Face towels and toilet seat covers were provided.
Environment: The hotel faces the Meili Snow Mountain directly. We enjoyed two days of the 'golden sun illuminating the mountain' and also saw a beautiful starry sky. Both our room and the terrace offered views of the snow-capped mountains.
Facilities: The humidifier, in-room heating, oxygen supply, and electric heater all worked great.

The guesthouse is a reconstruction of the owner's original home, and I was immediately struck by its beauty upon entering: the Western-style staircase paired with ******* paintings was exquisite and beautiful! The rooms were even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures showed, mainly due to the attention to detail, including the tea corner, the automatic sensor lights in the bathroom, and the copper sink. This guesthouse offers excellent value for money, comparable to well-known hotels costing nearly a thousand yuan. It's truly a hidden gem.
The guesthouse's large terrace is just a short distance above a bend in the Jinsha River, offering stunning views! I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Yunnan and Tibet!

GGuest UserTraveling with my parents and kids, we stayed at Snow Mountain Awaken and found the facilities complete and the hygiene spotless. But the absolute best part was the unbeatable view of the snowy mountains – right outside our door! We were also very impressed with the buffet, the sweet soup and fruit in the evenings, and the snacks, not to mention the hotel's restaurant. The butler service was attentive throughout our stay, making our choice to stay at Snow Mountain Awaken feel incredibly smart. The hotel is very close to Feilai Temple Viewing Platform, so we often took strolls there. We also enjoyed sitting at the Snow Book Store in front of the hotel, reading, daydreaming, and gazing at the mountains – that's what travel is all about! A special shout-out to Potato, Jingang, and Niuniu – these three dogs are just adorable!

GGuest UserI stayed at the Meili Podu, hoping to witness the sunrise over the thirteen peaks of Meili Snow Mountain... but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. It was rainy for days, and a thick fog enveloped the peaks, preventing me from seeing the magnificent sight of Meili's thirteen peaks! The hotel faces the snow mountain directly, so you can enjoy the 'golden mountain at sunrise' from your room if you're lucky enough to catch it. The hotel service was warm and attentive. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening desserts were all provided. Special mention goes to the breakfast, which was incredibly rich and exquisitely prepared. On the second morning, there was also a butter lamp lighting ceremony for blessings. The hotel's location is unbeatable, truly the best for viewing the snow mountain's 'golden sunrise'.

I caught a glimpse of the snowy mountains around 3 or 4 PM, but by morning, it was completely foggy and you couldn't see a thing – such a shame! Despite that, the hotel's location is excellent, and it's not too noisy at night. The cleanliness is good, and they provided a lot of complimentary items. Breakfast is Western-style and quite tasty too.

AAnonymous UserThe view in the room is spectacular. You can see the view of the snow mountain and lush green mountains while taking a bath or in bed. It was the most wonderful stay for us.
The room also came with all the amenities needed, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Smeg kettle, which seems very suitable for the price.
They also provide a free laundry service, which they will deliver clean clothes by your door in the morning. Beverages including water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included and can be provided as much as you need. They also prepared us sandwiches for us to take for our day hike.
The young lady at the front desk, who is also a barista, took very good care of us. She is always active on Wechat for any requests we may have. She also kindly helped us to arrange a van to pick us up from Ninong to Feilaisi.
Definitely a rewarding stay after long hikes!

Opening the window revealed a stunning view of snow-capped mountains and a sea of clouds – the romantic snowy scenery was just breathtaking. The room was cozy and clean, with plenty of oxygen, so I didn't have to worry about altitude sickness at all. Just sitting on the balcony quietly watching the snow was so therapeutic and lovely. The service was incredibly attentive, and even though it's located at high altitude, the stay was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it!

AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise.
Let's talk about the downsides:
1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road.
2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though.
3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

GGuest UserMy room was as described. Functional and nice and warm (with heating on) with an excellent hot shower and nice wooden wall beams.
The people who run the place are lovely and also offer nice breakfast options in the morning.
The only small note I have is that (despite best efforts and a very modern ventilation system in the bathroom) the bathroom is already moldy. I understand that it's a challenge to get under control given the climate.
I would stay again next time, and actually spend more than just one night here. There is so much you can explore here!

If you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head after a long day of hiking and are a good sleeper, this place will suit you fine.
The beds are large and comfortable. The bed heater comes in very handy and the showers are hot. The wifi signal is good. The dogs and cats are cute.
With regards to where to improve, my suggestions below:
1. It is quite hard to find the place - the name is slightly different on Amap compared to Trip.com and as it’s a small village the roads don’t exactly match up with the map. Some signage would really help as other hotels have done. When you’ve been hiking for 5 hours and are tired you need some clear direction!
2. The owners have quite a relaxed and casual attitude to hospitality and I think they could do more to make you feel welcome. It is more of a homestay than a hotel - the common area doubles as the owners living space, and while the owners go about their day (eating, playing on phone, de-fleaing their cats) it can on occasion feel like you are intruding upon their space. A little hospitality would go a long way - a smile or acknowledgment when you enter the room, the offer of a hot drink on arrival or a warm welcome after your long hike to the village for example.
3. I think the above is especially true for foreign guests- I can speak and read some Mandarin so was able to get by, but it would be difficult if you had no understanding of the language and the hosts are not particularly forthcoming with help or information. This stands out as everywhere else we have been in China hosts have been so hospitable and willing to help - translation apps are so useful here. Just a simple one pager of what you offer, the menu, kitchen hours etc translated into English is my suggestion!
4. There is absolutely no soundproofing in the room. You can hear every footstep, whisper and noise from the adjoining rooms - if you are a light sleeper you will wake up. I would really recommend that this is addressed for guests’ peace!
5. Install one non-squat toilet in the shared bathroom area, so guests who aren’t used to these can use another type of toilet!
Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit of construction going on around but there’s nothing that the hosts can do about that - it is everywhere in the village.
We weren’t lucky enough to experience good weather while we were there but I have no doubt the views would have been incredible!
