Guest UserSince we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences.
The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it.
The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying.
The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills.
Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

IefuygnehcI booked the Yunshu, room F02, and I highly recommend this room type. The location is absolutely perfect, right above the Meili road sign. Personally, I think the view of the snow-capped mountains from the room is even better than from the Feilai Temple viewing platform downstairs. The floor-to-ceiling window next to the sofa in the room directly faces the Shennü Peak, and you can also see Kawagebo, though unfortunately, the weather wasn't good on the day I was there, so I missed out on that. The room also provides a tripod, which you can set up on the balcony for photos.
The afternoon tea was also great; I absolutely loved the sour tamarind iced Americano. We also had dinner on the first floor (basement), and the food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were all very friendly and even gave us a special souvenir, a cute little cup, when we left. It's a shame we didn't get to see the 'golden mountains in the sun' due to the weather. I'll definitely come back in winter. See you next time, Meili Shiqi! 🤜

HongerlangjunxiaochaorenI've been wanting to visit Ji Xia Shan for five years, and I absolutely love the overall design style. It was just as I imagined, and the service was incredibly warm; everyone was smiling and friendly. The rooftop bar has little notebooks where you can write your own stories and read others' thoughts. It's a shame that it was foggy these past few days so I couldn't see the magnificent snow-capped mountains, but I look forward to seeing them next time.

This was the most satisfying accommodation during my trip to Yunnan, offering a relaxed and cozy feeling, like staying at a friend's house.
Room: We stayed in the 'Reding' room type. It was spacious and warm, with exquisite design details everywhere.
View: Our main purpose for visiting Deqin for three days was to see the Meili Snow Mountains. The hotel's restaurant and cafe face the 13 peaks directly, offering an excellent view. As long as the weather permits, you can gaze at the snow-capped mountains all day long, and there's no need to jostle with crowds to watch the sunrise (P.S. The cafe also provides tripods for guests to use for photography).
Food: Far exceeded expectations. Breakfast was served until 1 PM, with a wide variety of options, perfect for enjoying the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' and then going back for a nap before eating. The room also came with fruits and snacks, followed by afternoon tea, 'stove-boiled tea' (围炉煮茶), and late-night snacks. It's worth mentioning that the main meals were also delicious. In such a remote place as Wunongding, you really don't have to worry about food.
Service: The butler and all hotel staff provided attentive care. When my family member experienced mild altitude sickness and a fever, the butler brought pot after pot of brown sugar ginger tea and fever patches. Other staff members would also offer caring greetings every time they saw us. Although the weather was cold, the warmth of the hospitality was truly heartwarming.

Guest UserExtremely satisfied with my stay! The hotel's location is superb; you can see the snowy mountains right from your bed. The front desk upgraded our room, and the view from our scenic room was completely unobstructed. Waking up to the golden sunlight hitting the mountain peaks in the morning was absolutely breathtaking! The viewing platform on the 5th floor offers an even more expansive view, perfect for amazing photos. The ground floor restaurant also has floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can enjoy breakfast while gazing at the snowy mountains – truly a double treat for both sight and taste. The service was also very warm and welcoming. I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit!

Guest UserThe room was fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised to find disposable face towels by the sink. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels that didn't offer this, so I really appreciate this thoughtful detail. It's also perfect for catching the sunrise over the 'Golden Mountain' (referring to a scenic view at sunrise). If you can't get out of bed, you can just open the curtains with the controller next to the bed and enjoy the view as soon as you open your eyes. Afterwards, you can close them and go right back to sleep. The hotel offers many experiential services. I booked a sachet-making workshop; you can make as many as you like, and they're beautifully crafted and smell wonderful. My family loved them when I brought them home. The BBQ was also delicious, and the restaurant offers an incredible view for dinner.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area.
The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

It’s a warm and cozy stay, making you feel at home at upper yubeng. Hotel is located just right by the start of the ice lake trial, so it’s very convenient. You’d get to enjoy the snow mountain view right outside your window! It gets cold at night during winter but there is an electric heater, floor and bathroom heating so you’d stay warm. There’s some hearty Cantonese dishes for you to order for dinner. Our stay comes with free breakfast and it’s a huge portal — enough to fuel you up for your hikes. They also provided us a sandwich to bring to go and eat on the hike! They also provide hiking poles and crampons if you did not bring them. Highly recommend for your stay at upper yubeng!
