HHanghangjiangTen thousand thumbs up! If you're in Yubeng during the rainy season, you absolutely cannot miss this hotel. You get a direct view of the snow-capped mountains, and in the morning, you can watch the sunrise illuminate them from your room. The soundproofing is excellent, and there's underfloor heating throughout. The design is simple but blends perfectly with the scenery – they really put a lot of effort into it! The bed was incredibly comfortable. But the best part was the service. When I ran out of water at night and went to buy two bottles, the owner just gave them to me for free. This reminds me of a crummy hotel in Feilai Temple that charged 600 RMB and then even charged for water. Compared to that, I feel like guests at Muchen are so lucky!

PparaworldThe room was spotless, and the 1.2-meter single bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of options. The hotel staff were all warm and professional. The staff on the 4th-floor viewing platform, in particular, were outstanding; they taught us how to capture beautiful photos of the scenery. The butler service group was incredibly responsive. The hotel is located near the Wunongding viewing platform, so you don't have to brave the early morning cold to see Meili Snow Mountain; you can see it directly from the 4th floor. We were so lucky this time, from January 25th to 27th, we saw the breathtaking 'Sunrise over Golden Mountain' (Rizhao Jinshan) of Meili Snow Mountain for two days, as well as the 'Sunset over Silver Mountain' on the first day. The two documentaries shown at night, ”Kawa Karpo” and ”The Salt Road,” were fascinating. The small gift we received upon check-out was lovely. However, the dinner selection was uninspiring, and the portions were small. For instance, the stir-fried Pipa pork with matsutake had very little meat and mushrooms, but a lot of green onions. I hope they can improve this aspect!

GGuest UserSince we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences. The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it. The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying. The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills. Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

GGuest UserThis was the best place we stayed at on our trip, both in terms of decor and service. **Decor:** Both the hard furnishings and soft furnishings were top-notch. Hansgrohe shower, Duravit sink and toilet, Dyson hairdryer – it made for a very comfortable stay. **Room:** The hotel wasn't full, so they upgraded my room! It faced Meili Snow Mountain directly. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, so I didn't get to see the 'golden sun on the mountain' phenomenon, but the view was still absolutely stunning. Snacks and drinks were complimentary, and the room even had two oxygen panels. **Service:** The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The ******* people were so kind and open, often chatting with us and introducing us to their culture and local travel routes. The experience was truly fantastic! **Food:** We had dinner at the hotel. Although there was a minor hiccup, it was resolved wonderfully. Late at night, we even received a yogurt and fruit bowl, packed with tons of blueberries, strawberries, and more! Delicious! It was like a dream come true for a sweet tooth like me. What truly sets this place apart are the various ******* activities offered, such as: * Morning Sang burning (for blessings) * Handmade ******* incense making * Prayer flag rubbing These activities made the trip more than just sightseeing and sleeping; they allowed me to understand the local culture much better. Highly recommended!

MM240122****I traveled thousands of miles to Deqin just to witness the majestic beauty of the snow-capped mountains 🏔. I'm so glad I booked a room with a snow view at this hotel. It was a very cost-effective choice for a solo traveler. When it's time to enjoy life, you should go for it; you only live once. Let this brief freedom be a seasoning for an ordinary life, giving yourself the courage for a better one. The hotel service was excellent; everyone was very attentive to me since I was traveling alone, and they even gave me a small ornament when I left. The room was spacious and elegant, very comfortable to stay in. The diffused oxygen supply also worked well, although I tend to get nervous easily and still went to the hospital to breathe some oxygen for a while. Actually, there's no need to be too afraid of altitude sickness; most symptoms can be relieved at the hospital. Most importantly, the hotel's 5th-floor observation deck is fantastic. You don't need to crowd with people at the Wunongding viewpoint. I left my camera at the hotel to shoot a time-lapse and went to take some portraits. Plus, watching the starry sky and waiting for the sunrise with friends from all corners of the world at the hotel was truly a romantic experience. Finally, regarding the mountain views, this was a completely successful trip. From sunset to high noon, I was honored to witness the diverse charm of Meili Snow Mountain. On the first evening, as the vehicle drove out of National Highway 214, I caught sight of the thirteen peaks of Meili. Clouds drifted slowly, and the sun gradually set. Soon after, the Milky Way hung low above Mt. Miancimu, and Comet Lemmon descended towards Mt. Bawu Bameng, creating a starry night. Under the stars, the Winter Triangle appeared even more captivating, adorned with the Taurus meteor shower, making the night sky seem like a dream. As night deepened and the moon rose, the crescent moon stubbornly illuminated the snow-capped mountains, casting a faint pearly white glow. Until dawn, the sky transformed from blue to pink, heralding the arrival of a new day. At daybreak, the first ray of sunlight illuminated the peak of Kawagarbo, and the legendary 'Sunlight on Golden Mountain' passionately displayed Meili's grandeur. Once the golden light covered all thirteen peaks, the contours of the snow mountain were clearly outlined, and the most beautiful snow mountain finally revealed its perfect form. The mountain doesn't speak, but people have wishes; Meili just stands quietly, inspiring endless imagination. After the crowds receded, the snow mountain returned to its pristine white, and strolling through Wunongding, watching the mountains, listening to the wind, and playing with cats, offered another kind of pleasure. People say that seeing the 'Sunlight on Golden Mountain' brings good luck for the whole year. A year is too long; I only know that at this moment, I have captured the happiness of life.

GGuest User🏔️Meili Podu | 24 Hours of Healing with Snow-capped Mountains, ******* Incense, and Afternoon Tea in Wunongding ✨ I'd heard for a while that Meili Podu was the 'must-visit' hotel pinnacle. I'd stayed at Tengchong Podu before and found it rather ordinary, but this time I finally decided to go for the Meili route. The 4-hour drive from Shangri-La wasn't short, but the moment we arrived in Wunongding – it was totally worth it! 🤍 🌄 Environment We stayed in the White Pagoda Room. Although it didn't face directly onto the main peak of Kawagebo, the window view was still tranquil and therapeutic. Wunongding is quiet with few people. In the morning, drinking hot tea on the balcony and watching the clouds drift among the mountains brought such peace to my mind. 🍰 Snow Mountain View Afternoon Tea for Two I never expected to find such photo-worthy and delicious afternoon tea at such a high altitude! The pastries were exquisite, and the coffee was surprisingly good. Just staring at the snow-capped mountains, taking photos, and sipping tea – it was the ideal vacation scene! 📸 🛌 Room Experience The complimentary snacks and drinks in the minibar were plentiful. They even thoughtfully provided a large cloth bag, fearing we couldn't carry everything. The room was warm and clean, and bathing while enjoying the mountain view was absolutely divine. In the evening, we immersed ourselves in making ******* incense and painting Thangkas, truly experiencing ******* culture. Time here became soft and precious. 💁 Service with Full Attention to Detail Upon entering, we were presented with a Hada (ceremonial scarf) and welcome tea. The service throughout was warm yet restrained. When we checked out, the front desk gave us a prayer wheel and handmade soap. Leaving with such blessings, it felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being a guest at a friend's home for two days. If you're also looking for a quiet place with stunning views, culture, and thoughtful details to heal your soul, Meili Podu is worth the detour. #MeiliPodu

DDongfangkuaiche. This was the best hotel of our Yunnan trip! First off, the service was incredibly warm and welcoming. The concierges were super responsive to messages, and they provided free oxygen pillows during the day. In the evening, the hotel had centralized oxygen supply, which was a huge plus. The facilities were excellent, and the room was spotlessly clean and tidy. The environment was great too; the fifth-floor viewing platform offered fantastic photo opportunities, and the hotel's design was really stylish!

XXueshuquanweiGetting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

GGuest UserI stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserA lack of budget options in Yubeng has left this place somewhat complacent in its upkeep, and general care-factor. If you can’t find any staff for afternoon check-in, you can try checking behind the desk to see if there’s one asleep there, like we did. The room had an oil heater and electric blankets which was great. The beds were clean and comfy, and the make-shift plumbing produced lots of hot water. There was an AC unit installed as advertised, but it was not able to be connected to the electricity outlet. When asked, a staff member informed us that AC was “not allowed” and that the unit did not have a heating function anyway. The view from the rooms is oriented down and across the valley, rather than towards the snowy peaks. You would pay a lot less for this standard of accommodation elsewhere in China, but given that it is in Yubeng, the remoteness necessarily increases its cost. both Upper and Lower Yubeng are experiencing a huge construction boom, no doubt in anticipation of the upcoming opening of the upgraded road to Xidang. The future situation might well increase competition in the future.
