My first Yubeng trek was a rush, and I unknowingly missed out on Yeyu. For my second journey to the snow-capped mountains, we deliberately saved the most special and gentle night of the trip for Yeyu. While planning, I learned that there was construction around their first branch, so after careful comparison, I chose Yeyu's second branch. I have to say, Yubeng's top reputation is truly well-deserved. The hardware, software, and service details were impeccable throughout. The day after booking, the butler proactively contacted us. All our communication needs before check-in were meticulously met. From the moment of reservation, we felt a strong sense of care and reassurance. The butler personally escorted us to our room. The moment we opened the door, we were instantly captivated by the clean and soothing mountain scent. I absolutely loved this cool, relaxing herbal aroma. I promptly bought the same essential oil diffuser before leaving, wanting to bring the scent of Yubeng back home. The room's quality far surpasses many five-star hotels. Soft, warm lighting, plush bedding, and a double pillow setup offered maximum comfort. The full set of toiletries had the same therapeutic scent, the toothbrush felt premium, and a Dyson hairdryer was provided. Even the drinking water was filtered mountain spring water, with a sweet, refreshing taste. The attention to detail was truly touching. Our room's view was the luckiest part 🌄 At 7 AM, without rushing, I could witness the Meili Snow Mountain bathed in golden sunlight right from my bed. The moment the golden light spread across the snow-capped peak, all the fatigue from trekking instantly melted away. For breakfast, the rich variety of Chinese dishes included freshly cooked rice noodles, savory and flavorful, perfect for replenishing energy after a hike. (Slight regret: the sticky corn was frozen and boiled, which gave it a slightly stale taste.) The most thoughtful touch was the extended afternoon tea on the third floor, open until 10 PM. They truly understand the exhaustion of Yubeng trekkers; even late arrivals can enjoy a relaxing and healing moment. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows offered direct views of the snow-capped mountains, allowing us to drink tea and admire the scenery in peace and tranquility. Guests at the second branch can reserve a spot at the first branch's popular floor-to-ceiling window for free. The butler assisted with all arrangements; the view was stunning, making every photo Instagram-worthy. The biggest surprise of this trip was seeing the Milky Way for the first time in my life 🌌 Returning to the hotel at night, I looked up, and the vast starlit sky cascaded over the snow-capped mountains, leaving me speechless. Upon learning we wanted to capture the stars, the butler proactively brought over a tripod, gentle and attentive. Four days and three nights, over 60 kilometers of Yubeng trekking, climbing steep mountain paths with 60-degree inclines, my body was extremely exhausted, yet I was healed by Yeyu's tenderness, the romance of the snow-capped mountains, and the endless starry sky. My first mountain and sea adventure in 2026 will be Yubeng. The best gentle mountain retreat will be Yeyu. See you next time in Western Sichuan 💛

What you see is what you get - or even more! This place is truly a sanctuary designed and curated with great intention. We rested well after coming back from our yubeng hike. we arrived late at 930pm, however I managed to order my dinner with the hotel via WeChat, and they heated it up for us after we arrived even though the kitchen closed at 730. we had the chicken mushroom hotpot, a Yunnan classic and very well done there. The staff offered us hot milk for the night too :) The room is beautiful and comfortable and spacious. there is a tub which we could have a good soak after hiking. Breakfast was great too with options for coffee and butter yak milk. we stayed through the morning in the lobby area, browsing their books and merchandise. The staff also patiently introduced us to the various linden centre projects, various wines that is produced in the region and let us try some before we left. Knowing that we were taking a train to lijiang, she even checked if we arrived safely. Highly highly recommend. So value for money :) can't wait to return!

I was quite disappointed with the service at Ji Xia Shan. Their proactiveness is severely lacking, and their service awareness is simply not enough. When they mess up and upset a customer, all they do is apologize and ask for understanding, expecting the customer to just swallow it and deal with it themselves. There's absolutely no action taken, it's like knocking someone over, only saying sorry but not helping them up. I booked Ji Xia Shan several days in advance, but by almost 8 PM the night before check-in, no one had contacted me to add a butler's WeChat. I had to call them to ask if they even had a butler service. The hotel said they did, and that they had simply overlooked me. Later, they called back to explain that they had tried to call me around 3 PM but no one picked up, and then they asked Ctrip to send me a text message and didn't follow up further. I checked the Ctrip information, and it didn't say the hotel couldn't reach me, and with so many text messages, I wouldn't check every single one. Furthermore, when checking out, the front desk had absolutely no farewell gift prepared. As I got into the car and was about to close the door and leave, I asked the bellboy who had helped with luggage: ”Didn't the package say it included a farewell gift?” The bellboy then realized and said, ”Wait a moment,” and went in to get a keychain. This is unlike other hotels where farewell gifts are readily given out during check-out. Another thing I'm particularly unhappy about is: definitely do NOT book the Yunling room type in summer! It was advertised that we could see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Meili Snow Mountain, but due to lush vegetation, the snow-capped mountains were completely obstructed! See pictures one and two; I felt deceived! It would have been better to book the cheapest room type and go to the 4th-floor cafe observation deck to see the snow mountains. I ended up wasting over a thousand yuan! Also, this hotel has no elevator. To get to the observation deck, you have to climb stairs. Every time I climbed to the fourth floor, I was out of breath. If you have altitude sickness, I'd strongly advise against it. The only thing to praise is the young woman working at the 4th-floor cafe. She was all smiles, and her photography skills were excellent. When I asked her to help take pictures, she was genuinely enthusiastic and patient. Ji Xia Shan is considered a relatively well-known hotel in the Meili Snow Mountain area. Many places try to imitate Songtsam, for example, serving ginger tea and hot towels during check-in, or using keys for all door locks. However, it seems they've only copied Songtsam's superficial aspects; their service is worlds apart. And for Songtsam's snow mountain view rooms, you can truly lie in bed and face the snow mountains directly, being able to admire them from your bed (see picture six). The price of over three thousand yuan is well worth it. But Ji Xia Shan's snow mountain view rooms, which are even more expensive than Songtsam's, offer absolutely no view of the snow mountains. And the difference in service is even greater.

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. The hosts treat you like family, always smiling and going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Honestly, leaving this place is the hardest part! It’s hands down my best stay in Yunnan. If you’re heading to Deqin for Meili Snow Mountain, this is a must-stay. Highly recommended!

Location and Environment: We chose room 402, 'Jian Shan' (Mountain View), which had a large, unobstructed terrace. The view was almost as good as from the rooftop, so there was no need to climb up there; we could just sit on the balcony and wait for the snow-capped mountains to appear. We were incredibly lucky! The day we checked in, it was raining with a lot of mist and clouds, and we thought we wouldn't see anything. But to our surprise, the next morning, we miraculously saw all thirteen peaks! The hotel's location is excellent; you can see everything clearly from the balcony, no need to go to the Wu Nong Ding observation deck. Facilities: The room was well-equipped with underfloor heating, an oxygen concentrator, and a humidifier. The only minor drawback was that the humidifier didn't look very clean, so we didn't dare use it, which made it a bit dry at night. It definitely needs better cleaning. Food: Dinner was excellent. We ordered a small hot pot with yak meat, and the 1.5 jin (approx. 750g) of yak meat was plentiful and came with several vegetables. The yak meat was tender, flavorful, and incredibly fragrant. The server was also very attentive. We also received complimentary welcome snacks, fruit, and drinks. Service: The hotel also recommended a driver to take us to Ninong the next day, which we greatly appreciated! I highly recommend staying here because the location and environment are simply superb!

The room was fantastic, with a balcony directly overlooking the snow-capped mountains. They thoughtfully provided two foot bath tubs. We were quite tired upon arrival at the village, and soaking our feet completely refreshed us, making us ready to head straight to the glacial lake the very next day – what a thoughtful touch! The chicken soup noodles were delicious, and the packed lunch they provided for our journey was great too. The resident cat was adorable!

I've been home for a while, but I still feel compelled to leave an honest review. First off, there was construction going on outside when I arrived, and I was completely shocked. I had really been looking forward to the big lawn, but as you can see in the picture, it looked nothing like the promotional photos. I had no idea when I booked. If it's going to look different from the pictures for a while, shouldn't those display photos be taken down? Secondly, when I asked the guesthouse owner about it, there was no apology whatsoever. The first thing they said was, 'This room originally costs 580.' What kind of attitude is that? Do they think I can't afford the original price or something?… The prices on product listings are set by the sellers themselves. If the pictures had been accurate and I liked them, I still would have booked. Do I need to do a background check every time I book a room? If they had just told me beforehand that there was construction and that's why it was discounted, I wouldn't have been so angry. However, in all fairness, you can tell the design is quite good. Looking past the exterior, the interior of the house, its facilities, and environment are all excellent. It has a smart toilet, an oxygen generator, a humidifier with heating, a skylight, and so on. It's also very clean. So, you can tell the guesthouse aims for a high-end experience. It's about a ten-minute walk from Feilai Temple Observation Deck, and breakfast is provided. So, overall, the stay was still OK. Therefore, I still suggest that if there are such significant discrepancies between the hotel and its promotional photos or advertised services, it would be helpful to prepare guests mentally beforehand.

The hotel is in Upper Yubeng and it offers nice views to the moutains for the sunset and sunrise. However we were dissapointed with the people from the hotel. Since we are not chinese, is more difficult to get information and no one told us the way to go to Yubeng from Xindang was close (the hotel could have send a message informing that..). So, we took a taxi, spent 1 hour trying to find the way and then someone told us it was close. Finally we contact the hotel and they afirmed, they call a taxi and we had to pay a lot (150 for 15 min) to go to Ninong, where it was open. When we arrived, the lady from the hotel didn't received us in the most pleasant way since we didn't speak chinese.

The road to Upper Yubeng was under construction, so it took a while to walk. They arranged a great triple room for us with underfloor heating that warmed up quickly. After hiking to Ice Lake on the first day, we asked the owner for foot-soaking tubs, which were incredibly relaxing. The hotel's location is excellent with unobstructed views. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yubeng.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!
