San Juan Hotels with Balcony

The apartment at the Don Charlie was large, spacious and immaculately clean. It had an indoor atrium courtyard, very private and in a great area of San Juan. Very close to old San Juan and Condado Beach, restaurants in the area were very good, grocery store nearby if needed. Overall it's a fantastic place to stay, the owners were very nice and hospitable.

This is a refurbished Sheraton hotel. Everything is nearly refurbished, not lifts - dire!! Reception is on the 2nd floor which is bizarre and not sure why. The restaurant is pretentious and expensive, plenty of better dining options nearby. Room was nice but not worth the price paid. Not sure what boutique means but if it's fancy cushions and a limited coffee machine you're after, this applies. Hotel is in a weird triangular shape and hard to navigate(loads of dead ends). PR is not cheap, and this hotel is in a great harbour location in old San Juan, however in my opinion very overpriced. Breakfast was OK but spoilt by unnecessary staff grovelling with coffees and orange juice. If I can pick up a plate, I could help myself to the above. Signing a piece of paper to say we are having breakfast, when we have been checked in, 2 or 3 forms/lists checked and then shown to our table is OTT and unnecessary. Unlike to return or recommend.

We had difficulty finding the hotel at first. Street signs are not prevalent in San Juan. Once we contacted the front desk they were very helpful. The suite was comfortable and clean. The pool was warm and the hot tub suitably hot. It was not crowded at night. The onsite restaurant was very good. The staff were very helpful with getting taxis. The only negative was some early morning noise from the construction site next door.

Manny who was on reception when we arrived was very helpful and the person in the morning was the same but I forgot his name. Stayed one night to get cruise next day. Hotel reasonable standard but not as reflected in pictures however for the price I paid, cleanliness and helpful staff I would stay again. Thank you I have no complaints

Check in process requires a pin code to enter the room. However my pin code did not work so front desk attendant needed to come up with me to change the pin from his phone. After that it worked. There are no elevators in this hotel, I was on the second floor and the attendant offered to help me bring up my suitcase. The room itself is very small. Barely enough space for the bed. There is a door that opens up to the room next door. It is very thin since I could easily hear the person next door moving her bags and coughing. Two pairs of earplugs and two eye masks were provided in the room. Air conditioner worked. Unlike the listing, there was no window in this room. The towels were very dirty. One of them had dozens of dark spots on them, the other had red marks. Also, the last guest left a bottle of shampoo behind the shower curtain which was not removed. This means that cleaning is not very thorough since it would easily been seen if the shower curtain was moved. Fixtures and furniture in the room are quite basic. In the shower it looks like they did not even install a shower enclosure so the water simply sprays on the painted wall. Overall I would not stay here again but depending on the price you might be willing to live with the cleanliness and noise issues.

A very average hotel, but with local prices a good value for money. Quite clean, air conditioning, comfortable bed, breakfasts are not very varied, there is not even tea, there are pancakes and other pastries, some fruits. In general, it is ok. There were some really bad reviews, that people even refused the room. We were worried about this, but it turned out to be quite ok. There is a closed parking lot on the other side of the street, you need to ask the staff to open it.

We had a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It's a short car or bus ride from the eastern-side forts and Viejo San Juan, and they had a lovely pool (the second photo was the view from the pool area overlooking the lagoon) and exercise room. We had breakfast at the hotel during our stay, and the food was solid in terms of both hot and cold options (but unfortunately there wasn't any variety between days); we enjoyed the made-to-order omelets very much. The highlight included amenity of this hotel was the beach umbrellas and chairs at the Playita del Condado, which was a calmer beach and away from the ripcurrents; we were also able to use the pools at the Condado Plaza.

La Terraza is a nice boutique hotel in old San Juan and located great. We had a balcony suite, and it was surprisingly clean and spacious. We had to ask for towels each day, but those at the desk were very kind about getting us what we needed. The pool looked like a large infinity in the picture, but really it was a tiny wading pool...the rooftop terrace was lovely and inviting for a midnight rendezvous. We wish the bar was open or the drink machine worked, and it would've been nice. The breakfast was delightful and homemade...and there was always coffee or tea available. I would definitely stay here again for its quaintness and location. We had a fine stay.

We were put in a third storey room and there was no elevator. There was no one around to assist with carrying our luggage up the stairs. I strained my knee doing it myself. Then I had two days of having to go up and down those stairs every time I wanted to go out. Before my vacation was over, I ended up buying a cane. Not a very good way to start a vacation. The air conditioning in the restaurant was freezing cold. The location being so close to the beach was great. There were some restaurants within walking distance.

The room service is not good, the floor with coffee splash is not cleaned while the bath towels replaced. The laundry is a headache, no coins available and I waited for 40 minutes but the person responsible for the coin exchange is nowhere, and finally the manager  exchanged some coins for me somewhere else. The location is good and easily go to to the old San Juan and airport, many restaurants nearby and gift store options.
