Travelodge Bilbao Sestao ★★★
"The front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and very new. A significant plus is the 24-hour cafe."
Quartier Bilbao Hostel Casco Viejo ★★
"It was okay, but my roommates snored too loudly."
Silken Gran Hotel Durango ★★★★
"The hotel is very nice, the staff is very attentive, and the food is very good and reasonably priced. It's located about 300 meters from Durango's old town. It's an older hotel that could use a bit more maintenance. The spa costs €18 per person and is shared with gym members. Parking is also extra and costs €15 per night. It's ideal for exploring the fishing villages along the Cantabrian coast and having dinner in Vittoria (the prettiest town in the area)."
Hotel Balneario Orduña Plaza ★★★★
"The hotel's location is very good, centrally located in an iconic building. It's very well-maintained, and the rooms are very comfortable. The spa is very good, with a variety of pools, and the massages are very pleasant. It also has a very well-equipped gym, far exceeding the average found even in much better hotels. Room for improvement: the in-room safe is broken, and the closet should have doors, much better than a curtain. But above all, the service at breakfast could be improved. The guy in the kitchen the morning I was there was very unfriendly and rude. I asked him if they could make me some scrambled eggs (because the truth is that the healthy breakfast options were very limited), and his response was to slam the door in my face. Very unpleasant; it really has tarnished the rest of his colleagues' work."
Holiday Inn Express BILBAO by IHG ★★★
"Good for business travellers but not for tourists due to the location. Very inconvenient to get there from city center, especially at night time. Free breakfast and shuttle bus service to the airport included."
NYX Hotel Bilbao by Leonardo Hotels ★★★★
"Top-notch hotel, excellent location. It allowed us to easily get around Bilbao, with the metro, bus, and parking all nearby."
Hotel Naval Sestao ★★★
"The service was very friendly and helpful, they gave us several very useful recommendations."
Hotel Puerta de Bilbao ★★★★
"The experience was good, the room was spacious and clean. Really nice time there."
Hotel Luruna Palacio Larrinaga ★★★★
"This is an amazing hotel. It has been renovated to an incredibly high standard. The rooms are well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom has some of the best towels I have come across in a hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff made us feel so welcome and were super helpful. Our waitress at diner was so lovely. The food was amazing, the quality and the presentation were first class. Don’t eat too much too early in breakfast as choices kept coming and were freshly cooked. It was a wonderful experience and comes highly recommended."

Hotel Palacio Muñatones
"Stayed here for one night prior to Bilbao - Portsmouth crossing. Hotel looks really good on accommodation websites, has lots of positive reviews. It has a restaurant which is useful when arriving after a long day travelling. On arrival we were told the restaurant was not open though tapas was available in the bar. The hotel is not difficult to find using GPS and is close to the ferry port. It was difficult to get inside as all gates were closed You need to ring a bell for admittance, even at 5.10pm. What is not clear from photos or mentioned in the description is that the hotel is right next to an enormous petrol refinery. The air smells very strongly of fumes meaning you really cant open windows unless you want to fill the room with fumes. The room was airconditioned but the lowest temperature was preset to 25 degrees. Way too hot for a night time temperature for me, though it may be fine for others. Rooms in the main building may be lovely but we had a room in a wooden annex. The room was large and clean with a comfortable bed and decent linen. Toiletries were provided in the bathroom which again was large with a good shower. What was really strange was there was no door separating the bathroom from the bedroom only a flimsy shower curtain! Not great for privacy. We paid extra for breakfast which was plentiful in quantity if a little dull. As we were getting in the car to leave the owner came running after us shouting that we had not paid for breakfast. I went back inside to show the booking to explain we had infact paid. I found this really embarrassing and annoying especially as the owner did not apologise for his error instead just stomped off. Admittedly there is not an abundance of accommodation near to the ferry port but I found this place overpriced and would not stay again."
Palacio Arriluce Hotel - the Leading Hotels of the World
"Stunning view, kind and professional staff, excellent food, good wines, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful exterior and interior, precise location."
Hotel URH Palacio de Oriol
"Not being able to check in until 3 PM, arriving at the hotel at 11 AM, which was empty, and not even being given the opportunity to leave our luggage, made us lose many hours that could have been used to visit the city. Furthermore, if pets are not allowed in the room, this should be communicated, as we stated it was a cat and, obviously, we weren't going sightseeing with it. Despite this, the staff were generally friendly. The room temperature was far too high."
Hotel Igeretxe
"The room and bed are very big! Facing the sea! But there is a restaurant downstairs and the whole room is full of smoke. You have to open the window for ventilation! I couldn't sleep for two nights because mosquitoes came in with the window open! The TV is very small and old! It is incomparable with the same price in China! It doesn't come with a toothbrush and toothpaste! The beach is not beautiful! It is recommended to stay in Bakio. The beach scenery is beautiful! You can also hike"
Melia Bilbao
"Everything was excellent. The location is central. I really liked the lobby and the waiting area."
The Artist Grand Hotel of Art
"It's OK. It's quite comfortable."
Hotel Carlton
"This hotel is right in the heart of the city and is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. There's a 'Chinatown' street right next to it with all sorts of great Chinese food. The hotel itself is also really nice."
Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Via Bilbao
"The location is extremely good, as it is just next to the bus stop of the Bizkaibus A3247 (Aerobus), adjacent to the metro station, with a walking distance to the amazing Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. The hotel is stylish and the room is spacious. Everything are fine."
AXEL HOTEL BILBAO ONLY ADULTS
"My memories of Bilbao begin with the Axel Hotel. At first, I didn't realize it was built with this purpose in mind, but as soon as I entered the space, I realized how welcoming it was to everyone."
Hotel Palacio Urgoiti
"Very good! Noble! Elegant! Very aristocratic Worth coming again"
Occidental Bilbao
"This is a lovely hotel and very central , the staff are supper amazing and we even got a room upgrade when we complained that we didn’t have a room with a view"
Balneario Casa Pallotti
Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia
"Met a really nice front desk agent, and their English was good too. Very impressive."
Hotel Miró
"The room had a view of the Guggenheim Museum. I visited the museum in the morning and in the evening in the rain. It was a wonderful view. It was a small, cozy and stylish hotel. The breakfast was delicious. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I want to go again."
Hotel & Spa Etxegana
"Really nice hotel in a beautiful location. The interior is very cosy and the outdoor areas are very pleasant as well. Breakfast choice was rather limited, but all that we tried was of a very good quality. Food in the restaurant was very tasty as well. The only thing we did not like was the room we got. It was right over the entrance and with a view on the parking lot, which made it very noisy. Add to that very thin walls and you end up with not so relaxing experience. Parking at times was full and it was difficult to find a spot for a large car."
Catalonia Gran Vía Bilbao
"The facilities are good, worth staying one night, and there's a wide variety of delicious food."
