Good location relatively close to the fortress and on the way to the wall. Plenty of food options around and more within 1 Km around.
The staff at the reception were so helpful. No English spoken but with all the apps communication is not a big issue. It just take more time 🤔😅
The room was big. Great bathroom. A lot of space and storage available. Good air conditioning system.
Breakfast was simply delicious and every day there were different items available. Not much western food but anyway Chinese food is healthier. Staff there was lovely.
The fitness area is a bit minimalist.
Self laundry is available and works great.
I will return for sure.
A Personal tip to people visiting Jiayuguan: I suggest getting to the wall first thing in the morning after breakfast. Taxis is the only option.In July 2024 the price I paid (Meter as usual) was 26 Yuans. After visiting that place take a taxi to the fortress (Jiayu pass) as it is on the way to the city anyway. The cost was 11 Yuans and it is very close to the fortress unlike the main ticket office located 2 Km away (where the bus nr 4 stops).
Further tip if you like HotPot restaurants the NanjiaXiang is a great choice at a very reasonable price. It is 800 meters away from the hotel.

Wwomai1I've always been a fan of Orange Hotels, and this stay at the Jiayuguan branch was just as satisfying as usual. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is also very convenient, with a famous BBQ restaurant nearby. The laundry room is equipped with LG machines, which are highly efficient – washing and drying both take only half an hour. While the breakfast selection isn't huge, it offers a good variety: fruit, bread, side dishes, fried rice, and Chinese pastries. The oatmeal porridge was particularly good. They also keep the fresh fruit well-stocked and replenished promptly. The dining area for self-service is kept clean, and all the plates, dishes, and cups are warm, showing excellent attention to detail.

CcathrryThe room is comfortable, clean and sanitary. The service of this hotel is unmatched by many five-star and super five-star hotels. They took the initiative to call us to ask about the specific time of the show. After the show, they took the initiative to call us to tell us the time of arrival. The air conditioner was turned on when we arrived at the hotel, and the fruits were delivered to the room. Such thoughtful service is the best experience of our trip to Northwest China. Special mention to the front desk manager, Mr. Niu, who is really responsive and thinks of the guests first in everything. You must experience the Colorful Hotel when you travel to Zhangye Colorful Danxia.

GGuest UserDon't let the facade of this hotel fool you. While the frontage is a 4-floor building, majority of the hotel rooms are located at a much taller building behind the frontage.
The reception has a free coffee machine for guest, which is a rarity for Chinese hotels (especially if not 5-stars). I wish the reception was more brightly lit.
There is a Halal restaurant next to the hotel, so if you must eat Halal food, this hotel is perfectly located.
The room has adequate space for 2 person to put 2 big luggage, with plenty space to hang the winter clothing. The insulation is good, heater is warm, water pressure is strong with sufficient hot water when you need it. There's one odd thing about the heating in this hotel. The floor is heated, which is good prima facie, but the guest cannot control the temperature. So if the window is closed when you sleep at night, the heated floor ended up radiating heat all over the room to the point it feels like a 30C charcoal sauna when you wake up in the morning.
One special mention must be made about the breakfast. The dining area looks relatively spartan but the dishes would surprise you. It serves Salmon, Fish Eggs and one Cantonese delicacy ”Buddha Jumping Over the Wall”, which was a total surprise as we didn't expect a Cantonese dish to be served here so far in the northwest of China. I appropriated 2 bowls of Buddha Dish for one morning, enough said. I would absolutely come here for breakfast again. If the hotel could fix the control for the floor heating, that would be great !

It was all I needed to rest up well and Alan at the counter spoke great English and spent a good deal of time explaining details for my self-tour of the wall and fort. He also helped me sort out some app issues on my phone and bonus, installed a Chinese translator app which is much better than Google translate. I was able to wash some clothes and they dried super quickly in the brick courtyard.

The location is very good, with a bus stop and restaurants nearby. Also, note that you can leave your bags at the reception before check-in and after check out. Overall, a good option when visiting Jiayuguan.

AAust ReidGreat location near the lake, an easy drive to the three major Great Wall attractions and the food street is just a block away with some amazing restaurants, bars and even an 8 ball hall. The staff at the hotel were great and very attentive, especially with breakfast. Beef noodles were a great start to the day and the chef makes the hand-stretched noodles in front of you. The hotel manager had his honey moon in Australia and took time to introduce himself and make us feel welcome. Free easy parking underneath too. Rooms were clean with a good view. If we come back this way we will stay here again!

GGuest UserI've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel. I just stumbled upon these beautiful photos from a previous stay in my album today and couldn't resist sharing them. Every time I walk in, I'm drawn to the authentic, down-to-earth vibe. The front desk staff are always so welcoming, eagerly greeting us and helping with our luggage. The rooms are spotless and incredibly comfortable. But the absolute best part is the snow outside the window. Waking up and drawing the curtains to a pristine white landscape, with snowflakes gently drifting down – it instantly puts me in a fantastic mood. I also have to rave about the hotel's pour-over coffee. The freshly ground beans are so aromatic, and the coffee itself is rich and smooth, not bitter at all. A warm cup in the morning, enjoyed while gazing at the snowy scenery, is pure bliss. The service is also exceptionally thoughtful; any request is met quickly and efficiently. Next time I'm in Jiayuguan, I will definitely choose this hotel again. I genuinely recommend it to everyone!
