A slight downside is that the pathway down to the dorm is a bit narrow, and there's no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage can be a bit of a struggle. It would be great if each bed had its own curtain (especially in mixed dorms). However, the breakfast is delicious with many options. You also get a free bus pass for the area, which is a great bonus."

"The owner loves Japanese culture and has many Japanese friends. The store also provides Japanese tea. I highly recommend it to Japanese friends or friends who like Japan. You will probably have a lot to talk about with the owner. But this may be a bit strange to me, after all, I am a Nanjing native who is on vacation in Switzerland to experience Japanese culture. Facilities: The hotel is clean and quiet, but unfortunately there is no coffee machine. There is a parking space at the door, but unfortunately no one will help you with your luggage, which is a bit inconvenient when it snows. Service: The breakfast is very local and welcoming, and you can order extra meals."

"It was just okay. I chose this place because I liked the room. But overall, the price-performance ratio was very low, not as good as another place we stayed at. Pros: Great location, on Grindelwald's main road, has a spa (very small, I didn't bring a swimsuit and didn't use it), cozy room decor. That's all. Cons: The room was very small (1000 RMB more expensive than the other place we booked, and much smaller). The view from the room was so-so. The service was rather indifferent, but that's typical for this price in developed countries, so it's acceptable. Overall, the main reason we chose this place was because we compared it to another place in town that was 1000 RMB cheaper and better."

"We had the most fabulous stay for 2 nights while visiting Grindelwald. Everything was a sleek new design & the staff were super helpful. I loved our mountain views & the breakfast spread was plentiful. They have coffee/teas/waters all day long out on the gorgeous terrace, or if its cold they have a fireplace & cozy corners. While it is a bit out of the town centre, you can easily get a bus up in 20 min or as we did for dinner hike back up in about 15. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to come again!"

All day have coffee and tea ready for us.. They are not allowed to cook at room but with a microwave in the small area of dining room. This is good . "Great location, just a 2-minute walk from the train station, and right outside is the bus terminal. I arrived in the morning and was able to store my luggage first. The hotel also provided a free bus pass. The room facilities are excellent, and there's even a balcony where you can see snow-capped peaks on a clear day. Breakfast was also very good. The only downside is the shower/bathtub design; the glass screen only covers about 30% of the tub, and the seal at the bottom isn't tight, so a lot of water splashes out when you shower, leaving a large wet area on the floor."

The hostel environment is great, the rooms are very clean, and the washrooms and shower areas are also spotless. The free breakfast is fantastic, highly recommended! The shared kitchen is also excellent, and there's a paid laundry and dryer room. The only downside is that there were quite a few flies, but that's a common issue in Switzerland, haha."

"The room faces a dreamy hillside, making it more photogenic than many popular spots. While you have to stand in the bathtub to shower, there's a transparent glass partition, so the wet and dry areas are well separated, not as bad as some reviews on Ctrip have suggested. The room itself is quite decent, and the mini-bar is complimentary. The breakfast was excellent, even including white wine, miso soup, rice, and chili sauce – a treat for Chinese palates! The hotel spa was also nice, but the soaking tub wasn't very big. Try to go during off-peak hours for a better experience. The hotel offers a free train station shuttle service; when we left, they even took us to the station in a Bentley… The hotel is actually very close to the train station, about a five-minute walk. However, if you have a lot of luggage, it's best to contact the hotel in advance for a shuttle, as Grindelwald is mountainous with many steep hills to climb. The hotel restaurant offers different themed set menus daily. The meat fondue, highly recommended by many, was excellent; the broth had no unpleasant taste, and the meat was incredibly fresh. However, the highlight was the unlimited vegetable refills: the juicy zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms were the sweetest and most delicious I've had in Europe – definitely worth trying. Of course, the most amazing restaurant we ate at in town was the one at the Sunstar Hotel, about a ten-minute walk from our hotel (I think its name starts with the letter A). Their cheese fondue had no unpleasant taste and was perfect for beginners; their beef stew and bouillabaisse, among other dishes, were also delicious. The hotel staff were also very friendly and welcoming; we didn't encounter any of the "discrimination against Asians" mentioned in previous reviews. They even gave us bottled water and chocolate when we left. We'll definitely come back!"
