aaronholdawayAn absolutely beautiful stay in a wonderful place. My room was incredibly modern, had steps built into the furniture to a private balcony area, was incredibly clean and comfortable and I was really well looked after throughout. It was affordable, and one of the best places I've stayed. The passion for the local area really shone through from the moment I arrived, with a map on the front desk and friendly knowledgable service throughout.
It's not far from the main central area of Catania, and on a single road from the centre (more or less), so very easy to find your way from and to. There are shops nearby for water and snacks too.
At breakfast, I was looked after and had a range of toast (which was prepared for me to order), pastries, yoghurt, coffee and juice.
I feel very privileged to have found it and would have no hesitation going back or recommending. Outstanding.

Guest UserVery convenient location: a quiet street, 15 min walk from the central station. A large local street market (not the fishy one, so no smells) opens every early morning just a few quarters away. My flat was spacious and very clean. No problems with facilities, the kitchen is very appropriately equipped. For longer stays, you will probably miss a washing machine. Also, there are no real wardrobes, so I had to put all on open shelves. This can be inconvenient for longer stays too. The communication with the hosts goes via WhatsApp: fast , friendly and adequate.

It was very nice to stay at a Palazzo. The room is very beautiful and clean and the location is great! You can see the sunken ruins of an ancient Roman Amphitheater, the grand marble Monument to Vincenzo Bellini, the bustling daily street market of Fera o' Luni, and walk straight onto the famous shopping street, Via Etnea. And also catch the bus 434 to go to the very beautiful beaches of Giovanni Li Cuti, Aci Castello, Acitrezza…
Andrea was fantastic and always helpful. Highly recommended!

Sicily's fourth stop Catania, this time the hotel is on the pedestrian street like Palermo, on the second floor of an old building, the hotel is newly renovated, very clean, that is, the elevator needs to be carried all the time, the little sister who checks in is very beautiful, Also very careful and careful introduction of the hotel's various facilities and requirements, breakfast time. The breakfast waiter looked at a capable Italian woman, very capable and very enthusiastic, asked what juice is needed? What coffee ☕️? Do it well and the breakfast is very rich.

Guest UserClean and neat, very close to the bus and train stations, and close to all restaurants and bars (there is one that opens 24 hours right downstairs). If you plan to go to Mt. Etna, this serves as a nice base for your trip as you can meet your A.S.T. bus in 6 minutes. The only thing is that they ask you to check-out at 10 am, which is quite early, but it is written in your reservation and you should be prepared. Also, there is no front desk and so don't you plan to leave your bags for the remainder of the day.

Papali was on the first floor of a very old building, so expect to walk up a few steps with your luggage, because there's no elevator ... But, the Signore who welcomed us was very friendly and even went downstairs - while I already could go into our room - to help my husband find a parking spot on the street nearby.
We had a very good night in a simple, but super clean and quite big room, comfy bed as well ... Bathroom was nice and clean with plenty of towels ...
The first picture I took in the morning after our night at Papali out from the balcony, the second was taken in the morning when we had our breakfast served kindly in the little dining area ...
Btw, Papali is located wonderfully - it's an easy walk to all the main sightseeing spots of Catania! I added some pictures of our evening walk ...
Summary: Papali is a great choice locationwise and if you do not want to spend too much, but still want to have a cozy night at a simple but friendly and nice place.

Guest UserSet in a historic building in the centre of Catania, this B&B stands out for its traditional style and the quality of its service. Despite the lively atmosphere of the neighbourhood, the rooms are quiet, full of light and – hey! – the ceilings are frescoed!
The owner is always available via WhatsApp: he brings breakfast to your room at the agreed time and was very helpful in letting us leave our luggage in storage early in the morning and check-in, even though the room wasn’t ready yet, so to let us enjoy the city.

The building’s exterior is rustic and shows its age, but the room inside was clean, bright, and pleasantly modern. High ceilings, ample natural light, and comfortable furnishings made the stay enjoyable. The room was well-equipped with air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and a small workspace. Overall, a comfortable and updated interior within a historic building.
Guests who value interior comfort and don’t mind an older façade.

Everything is top-notch. The rooms are new and everything is in excellent condition. The staff is very friendly. The only issue that might be annoying for a visitor is that the room is very noisy, meaning you can hear very clearly if your neighbor is watching TV or having a conversation, for example. This can be annoying under certain circumstances. But apart from that, everything is actually perfectly fine. There's a market in front of the hotel every day from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. – it's worth being aware of that. This means that between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m., no cars can drive or park there, and everything is closed off. Fortunately, there's a large parking garage right next to the hotel where you can park your car 24/7. It's secure and the parking garage costs €12 per night (as of July 2025). Conclusion: If you're looking for a solid, minimalist, and simple hotel room in a good location and at a fair price, this is the place for you.👍

Something fabulous. Bungalows right on the beach. A wonderful sunrise. Beautiful view of Etna. Clean tidy. A very nice employee - a great person. The breakfast was modest but the coffee was delicious. 12 minutes to the airport. Open 24 hours. I am very satisfied. This place probably benefits in the summer, during the season. Nice infrastructure. Cottages in a wooded area, sandy beach, parking, 24-hour service. Just go there.
