Inns in Kyoto

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Miya Townhouse by Reflections. We particularly loved the Miyagawa-cho area; it's very conveniently located for visiting many spots in the Higashiyama district, and the neighborhood itself is well worth exploring. The entire townhouse was fully equipped. Upstairs, there was a bedroom and a beautiful lounge area with a TV and a coffee table. Downstairs, you'd find the living room, dining area, a well-appointed kitchen, another bathroom, and an open-air hot tub. The space was generous and very comfortable. The Kyoto-style breakfast was absolutely delicious. I'm quite particular about how my eggs are prepared, and the staff went out of their way to purchase free-range eggs and other ingredients I needed before our arrival, so I could cook them to my liking. This thoughtful gesture deeply touched us. The concierge and housekeeping teams were both outstanding. They also arranged excellent restaurant reservations, including some hard-to-book sushi establishments and fantastic Omakase restaurants. We were delighted with every meal throughout our trip. From check-in to check-out, the service was consistently attentive, and numerous thoughtful details made us feel right at home.

The old two-story house is built, the courtyard is small and exquisite, and the environment decoration is very good. There is a living room and two bedrooms on the first floor, twin and queen beds, two fully equipped bathrooms, and a small kitchen that can simply heat food. A small living room and two bedrooms on the second floor are also twin and queen beds. The area is much smaller than the first floor, but the important thing is that there is a toilet on the second floor that cannot be washed and bathed. This is the most imperfect place in this suite. People who live on the second floor have to go to the first floor to wash. So here is suitable for family and children. Breakfast is in the **** clubhouse about 10 minutes drive from the place where you live. The taste is first-class. The variety is slightly single. There are two Western-style packages. The quantity is small and exquisite. It is completely suitable for our small appetite. In short, this stay has been praised by the whole family 😁

I had a wonderful and comfortable 5-day stay. Although the shower, bath, and toilet are shared, there are multiple units so it was never crowded, and I could use them whenever I wanted. The bathtub, in particular, had great water pressure, which was wonderful for washing away the fatigue of the day. Every corner was spotless, and the hospitality was exceptional. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but taking the bus makes it easy to get anywhere quickly. The surrounding area is a quiet residential neighborhood, so it felt as if I were actually living in Kyoto. There is a shopping street nearby with local restaurants where you can try regional dishes. I would love to stay here again. The faint background music playing softly was also a nice touch. I truly enjoyed the Kyoto vibe. Thank you very much.

In short, I redeemed the Ctrip voucher for accommodation, so the price/performance ratio is very high. The advantage is that it is very close to Kiyomizu Temple and Kamogawa River. It is very convenient to walk. The check-in front desk staff can provide Chinese services and communication is easy. The room is large and the hygiene is OK. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and drinking water and other facilities are complete. The disadvantage is that there is noise interference in the room. The soundproofing of the building is poor. The air conditioner's outdoor unit will be louder. When it rains, there will be noise when rainwater drips onto the ceiling next to it. If you are a light sleeper, there may be various noise interference.

This hostel it is clean, good location, even if you are 2 km from main popular street is easy to get around. The issues: you can’t really sleep here if u get snoring people as ur neighbors rooms. I ve booked 7 days but I had to cancel the lasts 2 because was really hard to sleep and I was having only ~4h sleeping. And at 7/8 am people are already moving and waking up and because of the isolation of the ceiling(pic) is very easy to hear absolutely anything, any little move. In the first night staying here, after a person snoring so much until 2 am , it woke up go toilet and after it put reels on big volume at more than 2 am, I had to go all the way to knock at his door bcz I imagine it was a guy. The single issue with the mixed floor is this, if you put a girl with only men and they snoring, that girl can’t have any good sleep, if u put only girls and some men but they snoring, all girls will get mad bcz I wasn’t the single one after the first day. In the last night the snoring man wasn’t in the room anymore and they were more girls I ve heard. So if this hostel wants to make a mixed floor then I think they can think of putting only young people with young people and older people with older. Or maybe only 1 floor women and another men and the rest floor mixed idk. They can think of something. Also , there is water dispenser only at 5 th floor! Why they don’t have one next to reception? All the people from down have to climb all the stairs for a glass of water everyday until 5th? And there is the sharing space only at 5th floor where is the water too but again, a person that needs to talk to phone and to not destroy other peace , has to go or outside the hostel or in toilets or at 5th floor… it is a bit of a struggle these things. And for the double rooms u can put a small electric kettle for morning coffee I think and a glass and a spoon. To not get all the way up to 5th floor, if it wasn’t complicated to get all the way up I would have gone to make coffee there too but I tried one morning when I was still not awake and it was a bit of a struggle. That’s all. Oh. And the beds are really comfortable and very soft, too bad I couldn’t enjoy a good sleep in them. And after I canceled the lasts 2 days I didn’t receive back the city tax:)) is not big money at all but details makes the difference.

Плюсы: расположение, большие номера, понятная система заселения. Не верьте тем, кто пишет, что сложно зайти в отель. В 10 утра в день заселения на почту приходит ПОДРОБНАЯ инструкция, с кодом от входной двери и с кодом от номера, для получения карт-ключей. Завтраков в отеле нет. Минусы: очень грязно, мало света, нет уборки номеров, нет воды в номере
