"This hotel is in a great location on a small island in Kaiping, surrounded by the Tanjiang River on three sides. The taxi driver mentioned that there were no fireworks this year, otherwise, it would have been impossible to get a room. It's an older five-star hotel, which made me wonder if all the newer hotels in Kaiping are now built in the Chikan Ancient Town. During the ***** New Year, when the breakfast restaurant on the first floor was full, guests were directed to the second floor. However, on our second day, we went to the first floor again and it was noticeably richer in variety than the second floor. It's relatively close to Chikan and the Diaolou (watchtowers). Getting to Shisanxu Street, however, takes nearly an hour. There's a great street food stall nearby called 'Zhou Pin Ji' that's popular with locals and serves delicious food; we took a taxi there."

"Nice modern room with comfortable king bed, sofa, wardrobe and kitchenette. Bathroom was clean and fixtures new. Projector TV and wifi are excellent. There’s a big shopping mall across the street and lots of affordable food options downstairs. Also 7-11 right downstairs. I’d recommend the place to anyone."

"We chose the location because it was close to visiting family, so it was in a local section of Kaiping. It was close to everything we needed. Shopping and restaurants were steps away. The rooms were clean. The staff were nice but spoke no English. It was nice having the free washer, but the dry cycle didn't work well, but we hung the wash to dry. It is a great budget friendly hotel."

"A hidden gem. I don't even want to share this review to make this hotel too popular! As a person who doesn't speak very good Chinese, the staff at this hotel were very accommodating despite the language barrier. When you first arrive at the hotel, you are greeted by a creative garden complete with outdoor dining areas, swings, a fish tank, and more. On check in, the receptionist was very attentive to all of my questions and directed me to the places I asked about through wechat. It was very easy to follow the directions. I was also offered a spread of fresh fruit to enjoy before settling in my room. The room was spacious and clean and had the most advanced toilet that I have ever used! There was a wide open window for a beautiful view of the dialou across the pond. The suite of amenities was also much appreciated, including snacks, toiletries, and slippers. A highlight of this hotel is the breakfast. They not only provide the standard Chinese breakfast fare such as porridge and pastries, but also served local kaiping specialties. They also have food you can order off of a menu but I didn't have anything during my stay. Upon checkout I was also given a goodie bag filled with local specialties and treats which was much appreciated!"

Hotel services are great with good amenities such as breakfast buffet and many small items in the lobby free of charge such as candies bandages eye glasses cleaning tissue paper. Free laundry with detergent.

This stay was quite average. While the hotel's location is convenient and the staff are friendly, the overall value for money isn't great. The room and amenities were average, clean, comfortable, and the soundproofing was barely acceptable. The biggest issue was the breakfast: the selection was limited and the taste was subpar. The freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the cooking were disappointing, completely disproportionate to the price.
Given the price range, I expected better amenities and service, but the experience was barely adequate. If you're not particular about breakfast or can handle the slightly higher price, you might consider it, but overall, I wouldn't recommend it and would likely choose a similarly priced hotel next time."

"Kaiping Hotel is absolutely amazing!
I initially chose Kaiping for the dress-up experience and the price, but it exceeded all my expectations! As a hotel, it's really well-done! The decor, right from the front desk, is very atmospheric and great for photos.
The room was an even bigger surprise. It's rare to see a bed placed in the center, facing the window. The soft bed made me feel like a Southeast Asian noble; it was so comfortable. The whole hotel combines modernity with charm. The black wood and bamboo weaving created an ambiance that made us feel immersed in the Chikan Ancient Town experience from the moment we checked in.
Especially the ****** mystery game – it was so much fun! We kept taking photos and checking in. There were puns and riddles, which really transformed the ancient town into a massive, immersive escape room experience! So much fun!
The front desk staff were also incredibly kind and gentle. They went out of their way to help us with so many things, and everything was handled perfectly. Their service is truly excellent!
I'll definitely bring my friends here next time!"

GGuest UserWe just had a very nice two-night stay here while visiting all the diaolou of the area. The location is excellent, about 2km from Zili and walking distance to Li Yuan. Other diaolou clusters are 10-20 mins away. The service was friendly and so helpful during our whole visit. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We enjoyed beef noodles and tea eggs for breakfast the first day and then a simple buffet breakfast the second day of congee, sweet potatoes, noodles, corn. The room was really nice, very high tech and comfortable. The beds were a little hard for us. That was the only negative. We loved the outdoor space with lots of room to hang out during the day and evening. Overall, an excellent stay in Kaiping.

GGuest UserBeautiful inn in a lovely tranquil location. We had a wonderful stay. The inn itself is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time just sitting in the lobby area. Service is great; they helped us with our luggage up the second floor (only stairs here). The area is nice and quiet, but convenient - we walked 15 mins to Li Yuan and it was easy to book a DiDi car anywhere. There is a free shuttle bus between Li Yuan, the other Diao Lou villages and Chikan Ancient Town which was very convenient. Breakfast was lovely and so nicely presented, and the nice lady kept telling us we could ask for more.

CcivillawliThe room was clean and tidy. The air conditioner was turned on in advance, and it felt cool and comfortable as soon as I entered. There is a big yellow orchid tree in the yard, and the flowers are fragrant. The view is the green fields, which is pleasing to the eye.
The restaurant's food tastes good, but the reception capacity needs to be improved during holidays. It is a bit busy to handle too many people.

We even got to visit again the next day, and it wasn't crowded for photos in the morning. The room was huge, with a separate wet and dry area, and the soundproofing was excellent. There's a kids' playground downstairs that kept them so entertained they didn't want to come back to the room. The hotel is close to the North Gate, so it's less than a 5-minute drive to the park entrance, and parking is free. In the evenings, you can order takeout to the hotel, and they offer a complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning.

GGuest UserThis is the only family-friendly hotel in Jiangmen's Chikan Ancient Town. I looked around for a long time and finally decided on this one. The reviews on Dianping seem pretty good. Personally, I think the hotel's ambiance, cleanliness, and location are all fine, but the service is terrible. When I checked in at the front desk and asked questions, they basically told me to scan a QR code to check. When I asked where the fireworks were, they said, ”Scan the QR code to check.” Then, when I asked what time, they said, ”Scan the QR code to check.” Completely irresponsible responses. I know I'm too lazy to ask, but I just broke a nail and asked if they could find me a nail clipper. They said, ”Go upstairs and get it if you meet the lady.” Such a perfunctory response. What if I don't meet the lady upstairs? I still have to go to the front desk. And then there's the bed guard I reserved in advance... And then there's another important issue. The lady delivered something to the room, knocked on the door, and then just used the room card to open the door herself. I was shocked! It was the first time I'd ever encountered something like that. A friendly reminder: Don't be naked when you check in, remember to close the door when you shower, and especially don't mess around in the room. Auntie will be watching you do it.
Also, the outlet in the middle of the room is raised and hidden behind the carpet, so be careful. I tripped and fell a few times.

The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and it even includes two tickets, making it quite good value for money. It's right by the river, with ancient towers visible from the window. Check-in is handled at the North Gate Hotel Service Center, and there's a shuttle bus to take you to the hotel, which is very convenient.

The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and providing to-the-point service – no fuss, just what I needed. A huge plus was the hotel's location. Being within walking distance of so many attractions made exploring a breeze. And when I got hungry, the abundance of great food options nearby was the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.
It's in rural area and rides may not be to easy to get after 10pm. If you plan to return late to the hotel, be sure to know how to contact the hotel just in case the front desk is closed. Sorry to wake you at the middle of night boss lady!

The entire hotel interior is pink, just right with the recent Barbie wave.
The service is very good. The housekeeper has been in contact with me. I like Chen Qiuyu's service. There is a shuttle bus for pick-up and drop-off, and the room is clean.
A small suggestion, the room lacks a dirty clothes basket and a luggage rack, it is inconvenient to have no place to put luggage;
The room also lacks a Bluetooth speaker, and it is not too much to put a Bluetooth speaker in this price ratio.
Special praise for the barbecue downstairs at night, it's really atmospheric
I hope that the town can have more entertainment facilities for children, and I will take the children there next time.

LLoves TravelWe were very excited at the thought of visiting the diaolous but the only bus from Shunde to Kaiping departed at almost 14:00!! By the time we arrived it was already too late to venture out to the diaolous. The guy at the reception felt our pain and gave us helpful suggestions on what to do while we were there.
The location of the hotel is superb, right next to the bus station, the riverside and the street lined with gold(shops) on both sides of the divide.
However the hotel itself had definitely seen better days.
But it was clean, the basic amenities were provided and we had a good night’s sleep. Overall the service was excellent. And the price commensurates with what were offered.
