To be honest, the moment I walked in, I could tell this hotel had been around for a while, so I wasn't really expecting much. But our stay was full of pleasant surprises! 1. The river view is stunning. 2. The room has been renovated and is super comfortable. 3. They actually have a NIO battery swap station – a huge surprise for car owners! 4. We even got a free Chikan Ancient Town fridge magnet."

"The B&B is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the room is clean, comfortable, and very modern. The service was excellent; the owner and manager were incredibly warm and generous, making us feel right at home. They even offered unique local souvenirs. A special shout-out to the self-service breakfast, which had a rich variety of dishes, including many local specialties. It was a truly enjoyable stay."

The room is spacious, not at all cramped, and the best part is the amazing river view from the window! The cleanliness is impeccable, making for a reassuring stay. The self-service breakfast is decent and meets basic needs. Overall, it was a great experience, highly recommended!"

"It was really pricey because of the holiday, but the interior design totally made up for it; the ambiance is great. However, I have to point out two things: 1. This is the most expensive hotel in the whole scenic area, yet there's no dedicated parking. Finding a spot was a nightmare (it's best to contact the front desk beforehand and ask them to open the back gate). 2. They seem to be understaffed, and some employees' service attitude was just so-so (though the guy at the door when we checked out was very good). And the person who showed us to our room didn't offer to help with our luggage once – it was quite annoying 😑. 3. The carpet in the elevator looked a bit cheap and ruined the designer's consistent style. I hope they'll replace it."

The wooden flooring in the bathroom was clean, and the mattress was super comfortable – even I, who usually struggle with new beds, adapted instantly. The front desk service was incredibly attentive, and the complimentary coffee was delicious. The indoor parking was very convenient, so no worries about getting wet in the rain."

"Checked in on March 1st and left on the 2nd. I was hoping to avoid the crowds and bring my elderly family to experience the New Year's atmosphere in Chikan, but the hygiene issues at Jinxu Hotel significantly impacted their experience. We arrived at 1 PM on the 1st, and the hotel gave us the room early (our booking stated 3 PM check-in). We were happy to enter our room (balcony twin room), but found the tabletop uncleared with large oil stains, the floor was also uncleared with hair and debris everywhere, and the bedsheets were messy with signs of use. Since we had a show booked for 2 PM, we quickly called a staff member. When we returned to the room in the evening, the tabletop and floor had been tidied up a bit, but still weren't clean. Even more ridiculous, when we opened the balcony door, there were used beverage bottles and cigarette butts piled up, as shown in the picture. Speechless. If you don't mind the hygiene, then go ahead and book."

Specially STEVE, a great member of the staff who speaks English and who helped me since with all the necessary informations (and translation!) to arrive to Chikan village. He helped me with the taxi driver when I arrived and when I departed. Great member of the staff! I am really thankful to all the help he gave me. Great experience."

I never thought that one impulsive decision would lead me to revisit it, especially after hearing it had undergone a complete transformation. While browsing hotels on Trip.com and comparing a few, I ultimately chose Kaiping Guild House. We were truly amazed upon arrival; the nostalgic atmosphere immediately transported us back to the ambiance of a century ago. Moreover, the front desk service, room decor, and cleanliness were all highly commendable. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, less than 150 meters from the south entrance, and the nearby attractions made exploring even easier. This hotel is definitely worth recommending to everyone! [smiley face]"
