GGuest UserWe just had a very nice two-night stay here while visiting all the diaolou of the area. The location is excellent, about 2km from Zili and walking distance to Li Yuan. Other diaolou clusters are 10-20 mins away. The service was friendly and so helpful during our whole visit. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We enjoyed beef noodles and tea eggs for breakfast the first day and then a simple buffet breakfast the second day of congee, sweet potatoes, noodles, corn. The room was really nice, very high tech and comfortable. The beds were a little hard for us. That was the only negative. We loved the outdoor space with lots of room to hang out during the day and evening. Overall, an excellent stay in Kaiping.
MM781640****I booked this guesthouse randomly and was so pleasantly surprised! The room was exactly like the pictures, even more exquisite in person. The custom furniture had a unique charm, and the tranquil view outside the window made sitting on the balcony with the breeze incredibly relaxing. The cleanliness was exceptional; I couldn't find a speck of dust on the tables or even in the window sills. The sheets and duvet covers were spotless, and the mattress had just the right amount of support, perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day of sightseeing. The soundproofing was excellent, and the double blackout curtains ensured a perfect night's rest. The air conditioning cooled quickly and silently. The staff were incredibly friendly; they not only prepared welcome snacks but also thoughtfully provided travel tips. The location is about a ten-minute walk from the main attractions, with restaurants and small shops nearby, making it convenient for both getting around and shopping. It's absolutely perfect for couples or solo travelers – a true hidden gem of a guesthouse, highly recommended!
2203692****Facilities: The facilities are very complete.
Cleanliness: The room is clean and tidy.
Environment: The overall environment is excellent, and the common areas are quite spacious.
Service: The staff are very enthusiastic, and the breakfast is exquisite. There are also bicycles provided for getting around nearby. Liyuan is right next door, very close, and Zili Village is not far, about a 15-minute bike ride. The guesthouse itself is very unique; it used to be a temple and a school in the front, and residences in the back. Staying in a Diaolou (fortified multi-storied watchtower) feels like a dialogue with time and space – truly a great experience, highly recommended!
AAnonymous UserThe room was nice, and the facilities for children were excellent. My only minor gripe was that for a room costing over a thousand, there weren't any complimentary snacks. Everything else was great! I was especially delighted that they provided children's pillows!
The hotel's breakfast was quite average, not particularly tasty. We went on a Saturday, so the breakfast area was incredibly crowded.
The hotel is split into two buildings and also has playground facilities, which is a nice touch. Everything in the hotel feels new, and the cleanliness is decent. However, we stayed on the first floor, and our balcony was right next to the road. If you didn't close the door, privacy was quite poor. There was no frosted glass or anything, just plain transparent glass.
I'll share some real photos to give you an idea. I'd definitely choose this hotel again! I hope my review helps you with your decision!
KKitty Y.S.K.The room is spacious, clean, and most importantly, the staff is friendly and generally satisfactory. The only problem is that the location is a bit far from the city center, and there are no convenience stores/shops nearby, which is a bit inconvenient.
Because we stayed for two nights, the toilet paper was not replenished after the room was cleaned on the second day, and the cleaning cloth was left in the room; there were not many types of breakfast, mainly Chinese style, no milk tea or coffee, only soy milk and fresh milk. More choices would be better, but this is a little bit to be improved.
GGuest UserThis is the only family-friendly hotel in Jiangmen's Chikan Ancient Town. I looked around for a long time and finally decided on this one. The reviews on Dianping seem pretty good. Personally, I think the hotel's ambiance, cleanliness, and location are all fine, but the service is terrible. When I checked in at the front desk and asked questions, they basically told me to scan a QR code to check. When I asked where the fireworks were, they said, ”Scan the QR code to check.” Then, when I asked what time, they said, ”Scan the QR code to check.” Completely irresponsible responses. I know I'm too lazy to ask, but I just broke a nail and asked if they could find me a nail clipper. They said, ”Go upstairs and get it if you meet the lady.” Such a perfunctory response. What if I don't meet the lady upstairs? I still have to go to the front desk. And then there's the bed guard I reserved in advance... And then there's another important issue. The lady delivered something to the room, knocked on the door, and then just used the room card to open the door herself. I was shocked! It was the first time I'd ever encountered something like that. A friendly reminder: Don't be naked when you check in, remember to close the door when you shower, and especially don't mess around in the room. Auntie will be watching you do it.
Also, the outlet in the middle of the room is raised and hidden behind the carpet, so be careful. I tripped and fell a few times.
CcivillawliThe room was clean and tidy. The air conditioner was turned on in advance, and it felt cool and comfortable as soon as I entered. There is a big yellow orchid tree in the yard, and the flowers are fragrant. The view is the green fields, which is pleasing to the eye.
The restaurant's food tastes good, but the reception capacity needs to be improved during holidays. It is a bit busy to handle too many people.
WWongJanThis hotel was a breath of fresh air! From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by its unique and farm house style design. It wasn't your typical cookie-cutter hotel, and that's exactly what I loved. The peaceful environment was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing for a truly relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and providing to-the-point service – no fuss, just what I needed. A huge plus was the hotel's location. Being within walking distance of so many attractions made exploring a breeze. And when I got hungry, the abundance of great food options nearby was the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.
It's in rural area and rides may not be to easy to get after 10pm. If you plan to return late to the hotel, be sure to know how to contact the hotel just in case the front desk is closed. Sorry to wake you at the middle of night boss lady!
YYangguang-baixueUpon checking in this afternoon, the front desk kindly upgraded my room for free to a king-sized room with a balcony in Zone A, which was excellent service.
This hotel is the largest in the entire scenic area, spanning four floors with over 600 rooms. Its location is superb, being very close to all the major theaters. On the bedside table, there was even a book introducing the development of Chikan Ancient Town, titled ”Jinxu,” sharing the same name as the hotel. My favorite part was the bookshelf in the lobby on the first floor, filled with thoughtfully curated books designed to inspire wisdom.
Although the breakfast offered many choices, the taste was quite ordinary.
I tried both Huaxing Claypot Rice and Baorui Claypot Rice within the scenic area. I recommend Baorui Claypot Rice; the environment is better, and the quality and taste of their dishes are superior. You can really feel the owner's dedication there. The only drawback is that you have to walk a bit further to get there.
GGloria PangAfter the renovation, the room environment is clean and bright, but the design of the washroom and bathroom is weird, the hotel is very conveniently located, as a central point all around to find food is very convenient
