"I never expected to find such a wonderful guesthouse on this island. The landlady was incredibly kind, like family. She prepared a delicious breakfast for me every day and readily agreed to let me get up early, getting up at 5 a.m. to help me out. I was truly touched. The room was spotless and made me feel incredibly safe. Unfortunately, the weather prevented me from exploring properly this time, but I look forward to my next visit. I accomplished everything I wanted to do; it was a very smooth and fulfilling trip. This guesthouse brought me good luck!"

"We had a lovely stay at Sea Cliff Hotel for May 1st break. This is what I liked: - buying ship ticket for May holiday was mission impossible, starting with Tickets App not accepting foreign passports. Hotel helped me with arranging the tickets both ways, even after there were no tickets online (sold out in 20 min) - they arranged a pick us up on arrival and brought us back to the pier on departure - hotel has an excellent sea view location, very silent and sea centric rooms, same for restaurant - everything is modern, I specifically liked ability to share Apple screens on TV in the room, great way to review photos and watch own movies in the evening - good breakfast 8 to 9AM, you can come 8:45 and enjoy a late breakfast as well; we also had late lunch in hotel restaurant on arrival, great food, great to seat outside, flexible working hours (not closed 14-17!), actually I liked their meals more than what we had on the main beach top restaurant, finally reception can brew you a coffee though bit hot - there is 20 min walk from the hotel for a great bay and coffee place to watch sunset, excellent experience and no need to wake up early - hotel was always online on WeChat to address any issues or questions, including how to organize a day, fantastic services! - hotel has own beach area, looks like good to swim, I will consider for summer, water is clean on the island, and this is just couple of hours from Shanghai - small drawback: fishing boats pass by from early morning, this may disturb your morning sleep ;) - other thing the bed is a bit too hard for my back, but where did you see soft beds in China? Overall: highly recommended!"

"Perched on a cliff, the views from this guesthouse are, of course, incredible. The only minor workout is the uphill walk back after exploring, haha. To the left of the guesthouse entrance, you'll quickly reach Xiyang Bay, boasting super beautiful scenery. Turn right and head downhill; a short walk following your navigation will lead you directly to the town center. The large swimming pool features a swing chair, perfect for sitting in the evening, enjoying the sea breeze, and watching the sunset. It's incredibly relaxing, as the platform offers wide, unobstructed views. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The only slight hiccup was the balcony door; I couldn't figure out how to open it for a long time, and the front desk eventually had to come up and show me. Otherwise, everything else was perfectly fine. Each room receives two complimentary drinks; just ask the bar. They also provide a convenient free pier shuttle service. All my photos were taken within the guesthouse grounds. There's no need to even step out; you can easily spend hours capturing beautiful shots right here. The lower level, in particular, has a wonderful Moroccan vibe. On checkout day, the kind lady at the bar noticed me waiting for my driver and thoughtfully brought me a complimentary slice of watermelon."

"Overall, I am very satisfied. The homestay environment is especially suitable for my lazy holiday travel. GGuest UserThe location of the B&B is very convenient. You can take the 302 tourist line from Shenjiawan Passenger Terminal for 10 yuan per person and get off at Gaochangwan Bus Station. The B&B is under the bus stop. It is also very convenient to transfer to other buses. I came on June 12. The location of this B&B is about 7 minutes' walk from Gaochangwan Bathing Beach (Tianyuewan Resort). The original ticket was 50 yuan. Because I live in this village, the owner of the B&B gave me a ticket. It only costs 30 yuan to enter the beach, and I can also get a wristband. I can enter and exit the beach at will within one day. The limit is one day. I think that except for living in Gaochangwan, other B&Bs must not have this treatment. This beach should belong to this village. This beach is very large and long, with fine sand. You can take a bath when it is hot. It is a sister beach with Jihu Beach behind the B&B mountain, separated by a mountain. The B&B is very new. The owner said that it will be repaired every year to keep it brand new. The decoration style is all related to the sea, very warm and comfortable, the accommodation conditions are impeccable, and the owner's house design has a large terrace on the 4th floor, where you can cool off, drink tea and watch the scenery. In one of the rooms, you can see the sea and the beach by opening the curtains, which is very comfortable. I looked at the B&Bs around, and there are very few with such a large terrace. During the period, I also went to the Donghai Fishing Village mentioned by my friend. There are more people there, but it looks very messy, and the design of the B&B is not very good. The Donghai Fishing Village is lively, and there are many food stalls. If you want to be quiet, Gaochang Bay is really quiet. Also, it is recommended to let the B&B owner cook seafood if you want to eat it, which is affordable. The 700 yuan we ate outside was not as much as the 500 yuan the boss cooked, and it was a bit of a rip-off outside. The boss was very kind and talked to each other. The yard of the B&B and the roof are full of succulents, which are very beautiful. The only regret is that the weather was not good when I came, it was gloomy, foggy and rainy, the sea water was not blue, and there was haze, which was the biggest disappointment. RRares MAn excellent stay on Shengshan Island. Before we even arrived, the owner already contacted us on WeChat with information about our stay and gave us very comprehensive tips for our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the boat port, the main entry onto Shengshan, and it is just across it. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and helped us get our luggage. They have a very convenient luggage lift which means that you don't have to lug anything up the stairs. The hotel feels clean, luxurious, comfy and homely at the same time. It is a family run hotel and the reception is very warm. Our room was very clean and everything that was needed was provided. The view was spectacular from our room (image provided). The bed was very comfy and the lounger was perfect for watching the sea within the comfort of your room. The pool downstairs is great to cool off after a day out exploring. The breakfast provided was very nice and simple, some youtiao (Chinese fried dough, similar to churros), soy milk and sweet and savoury buns. All in all an excellent experience, and we thank the hosts for everything.
