"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of Bath city center and very close to the famous Roman Baths. There was some renovation work happening on the exterior during our stay, but it didn't affect us at all. The hotel design is excellent, with modern facilities, and the staff were incredibly polite, even proactively offering recommendations for popular attractions and itineraries, which was a huge plus! The only downside was that the room was a bit small, and a slightly larger suitcase made it feel a bit inconvenient."

"The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the Roman Baths. This hotel directly pipes natural thermal water into the property, making it very convenient to take the elevator from your room down to the -2 level for a soak. However, guests only get free access to the hot springs during two time slots: 8:00-10:00 AM and 7:00-9:00 PM. Outside these hours, it costs £70, which is quite steep. There are three pools in total, plus a sauna and steam room. Overall, it's pretty good. One thing to note: the room and service fees were already paid through Ctrip. Upon check-in, a £100 deposit was taken. At check-out, the staff tried to charge a £10 service fee. If you haven't incurred any additional charges, you can refuse this unreasonable request."

"We stayed one night at Apex City of Bath Hotel. The location is excellent, and the night‑shift manager was quick to respond when we raised our complaint, however our overall experience was really poor because of repeated hygiene problems with the beds.
It was nearly 11 pm and we were ready for sleep, when we discovered mould‑like marks on the bed sheets in our original room. We contacted the duty manager straight away, and we were moved to a different room without delay.
Unfortunately, on arriving at the new room, we found hair left on the fresh bed sheets. We were exhausted and very late in the evening; otherwise we would have asked to check out entirely. A member of staff then came to replace the full set of bedding for us.
During the bedding change, further issues were uncovered: visible yellow stains on the mattress underneath, and yellow stains also on the duvet itself.
While the staff tried their best to resolve the situation at such a late hour, it is unacceptable for a 4‑star hotel to have multiple bedding‑related cleanliness failures across two separate rooms. We felt uncomfortable for the rest of our night. We hope the hotel will carry out a full review of its housekeeping standards and mattress / duvet condition."

"The hotel has an elevator, the decoration is beautiful, very close to the station, but the room does not have air conditioning, only a small electric fan. I arrived in Bath (6/11) very hot, the room is just west, the old-fashioned windows can only open 1/4, so I slept very uncomfortable, and it was cooler until 3 am."

"We stayed here during the Jane Austen festival and had a wonderful time! The workers are super friendly and helpful, great to ask any questions about Bath. The place has an old-school style that is so very charming. There’s a bit of wear and tear, but it doesn’t feel dirty or run down at all, just adds to the classic charm of the place. We had the Executive Room with Garden View and it was just lovely! I felt like a princess. The lounge and gardens are also beautiful and fun to take a look at. Just a heads up, if you’re going into the city centre by foot, it’s best to walk down to the centre, bu take a bus up to the hotel. The walk is very uphill.
Definitely give this place a try!"

"Couldn’t fault the actual room, even though it wasn’t the room advertised or shown in pic, that was a little annoying.
The shower wasn’t very good and the room was very stuffy at night as you couldn’t open windows due to noise outside.
The location was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The noise both outside and in the actual hotel were quite annoying with slamming of doors and what sounded like moving furniture above us.
We knew there was an issue with noise as we read reviews but we thought we are pretty easy going and can usually sleep through anything, we even brought ear plugs, but recon you’d need industrial ones to block out all the noise there.
Sadly I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend to others,"

"The two young men at the hotel front desk were super enthusiastic. They introduced the hotel facilities and services in detail, took the initiative to help with the luggage, and prepared small toys and gifts for the children in the room in advance. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the city center but quiet in the bustling area. I will choose this hotel again when I go to Bath next time!"

"Small luxury hotel I feel relieved to see that it is SLH, but it is unusually understaffed. From check-in to dining in the restaurant, you have to wait, wait, wait. If you don’t understand English, please don’t come. Most of the employees look like college students who work part-time and cannot solve the problem alone. question.
The restaurant and bar are good, the room is very big, you need to take the stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom is half a floor up. The swimming pool is small and there are many people. There is a sauna, but it was useless because the temperature was 30 degrees on the day of arrival.
Charging the tram is also very funny. It took a long time to fully charge it."

Guest UserI first booked an apartment on ***********, but when I checked in, I found it was completely uncleaned and uninhabitable. I couldn't reach the host, and customer service couldn't resolve the issue, so I quickly booked a hotel on Trip.com instead.
Upon checking into this hotel, I noticed the bathroom sink was very dirty. I reported it to the front desk, and they said there were no other rooms available, so the staff member brought a towel and wiped the sink clean. However, I later discovered the sink was clogged and wouldn't drain, making it unusable.
Trip.com's customer service is much better than Booking.com's; at least they are reachable and actively try to help resolve problems.

Summerwinter .KThe location was amazing and easy by walking in town, meet the hotel standards on cleanliness, service and location. staff is very friendly with smile especially on the breakfast time, they are really helpful.
However I have booked for 2 nights with the city view queen bed room, but It’s no city view at all.
Also, this room is on the upper ground floor and nearby the storage cleaning room is not the good idea for customer especially on the early morning time. The problem is the room always has a terrible noise all the time which make me terrible and can’t sleep well when I am being on the room. I have requested the room which away from elevators and good view before booking but not get anything at all.

Perfect spot for exploring Bath, very central and easy to walk to the station, shops and attractions. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we needed, and felt secure in the lovely courtyard. We extended our stay as we felt so at home there. There looked to be a secure left luggage store which we may have used if we’d seen it earlier. Would be useful to have info about this in the apartment info pack.
There is some noise from the street for apartment 7, partly from early deliveries to Thermae Spa which is directly opposite, and also from people wandering through the echoey passageways at night. We got used to it by the end of our stay, but light sleepers might prefer one of the inward facing apartments.

AnonAnonQuite an old hotel, which has managed to preserve it's historical rooms beautifully. I do warn that the rooms can become quite chilly at night especilaly when the heating isn't turned on in september. And the windows could barely open so you constantly have to keep them open. But otherwise it's still a very beautiful old hsitorical hotel that I could appreciate. I do admit the price was quite high, for the small room I got, especially considering it was usually supposed to be shared between two people. Not great value for money, but definetly can appreciate its history and beauty.

Guest UserWe had an amazing stay at The Bailbrook House Hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and all the food was excellent.
We had a small issue at breakfast as were quite late coming in for it and some of the fruit had gone, however having said that the poached egg and avocado on sourdough I had was to die for, and was delicious, and the full english was very good too. All in all it was all very enjoyable stay and would definitely return, and recommend the hotel to friends and family.

The only downside is that early check-in isn't an option, though you can store your luggage. Breakfast is a standard English breakfast. There's a closer train station, Oldfield Park, so remember to select that when buying tickets.

Anonymous UserOur family room was located in the basement, and the bathroom door was right next to the head of the bed. When opened, the toilet faced the bed directly. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, so after showering, the steam lingered for a long time. Since it was so close to the bed, we couldn't leave the door open to air it out; we had to keep it closed and let it get stuffy, which wasn't a pleasant experience. The front desk staff were quite indifferent; they didn't even respond when we said thank you.

Very friendly staff from the moment we checked in till we checked out. Lovely spa facilities. Beautiful hotel. Safe area as we walked to the city centre and back at different times. Quiet but safe.

This is a charming historic mansion with great character; while the facilities are a bit dated, the exterior and outdoor scenery are super nice.
Free parking makes it perfect for those driving, it is only a short drive from the Bath city center.
The traditional-style hotel bar was quiet and moody, it stays open until 11pm, allowing us to enjoy a drink even after arriving late from dinner.
The room size was decent and the heating worked well; the bathroom featured a bathtub though it took some time for the hot water to start flowing properly. Unfortunately, a false fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, which disrupted our sleep, but since we were only staying for one night and checking out early, I didn't raise the issue.
It was a classic ”old hotel” experience as expected, and the exceptionally warm and friendly attitude of the front desk staff made up for the hiccups, though my expectations might be higher if I were staying for a longer period.

Stayed at Wentworth House for one night. The location was handy — only about a 6 or 7-minute taxi ride into the centre of Bath. Parking on site was free, which is always a bonus, though spaces were limited. The shower worked fine with good hot water, and at £120 a night for three people, the price wasn’t unreasonable for Bath.
On the downside, the place is very dated and could do with some serious modernisation. Our room had a noticeable damp smell and the single-glazed windows didn’t help keep the room warm or quiet. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, but overall, it’s an okay option if you just need somewhere for a night and aren’t too fussy — though a refresh would really lift the place.
