"I had quite a positive experience with Hotel Essencia. I particularly enjoyed the spacious room and welcoming staff. Location is a big win as it's walking distance to the Rizal Boulevard, Cathedral, downtown area, and the public market where the famous Painitan can be found. The only kicker during my stay was the unstable WiFi but I spent most of my time outside anyway so no big deal. I highly recommend this place!"

"Stayed at the hotel for three nights, the hotel is very new, although small but the facilities are very good, facing the beach and the sea (although it is black sand beach). Breakfast is delicious, if you don't have time to eat, you can ask the hotel to prepare a sandwich. "The hotel is located on the seafront. The grounds are cozy and beautiful. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the sea, and the sunrises were very impressive. The rooms in the building opposite reception are very spacious. The food is delicious, the portions are large, and the dishes are beautifully presented. To the left of the hotel is a small, vibrant reef with lots of fish. The hotel has a dive center on site; we booked a diving trip to Apo with them; they had good equipment and excellent organization. Diving at Apo was very impressive. We rented a car and driver and explored the sights of Valencia: waterfalls, hot springs, and lakes. We went to the center of Negros to see caves and waterfalls. We really enjoyed it. You can call a taxi or tricycle through reception to get to your desired destination. Requests: arrange for a massage therapist to be arranged through reception to the hotel."

"Great experience with the Henia hotel. Came in from Bohol and stayed the night. Great room with all the perks. Air, hot water, 100 channels on TV, absolutely wonderful staff and a super breakfast, Would have stayed longer but they had no rooms available and boy do I know why!!!"

"I would not recommend staying here as it is simply not worth the money. We found the management to be incredibly rigid, especially regarding check-in times, which made for an unwelcoming start to the trip. For the price point, the room amenities are underwhelming—the toiletries are very basic, the toilet paper is paper-thin, and the hairdryer was weak and barely worked. Overall, the experience felt budget despite the high cost. There are much better, more hospitable options in Dumaguete."

"It's definitely a ”small paradise” on the coast of the island. When we arrived at the hotel, our first impression was wow! Exotic and lush green gardens everywhere! So relaxing and peaceful environment after a long ride outside of the hotel. The staff were smiling, friendly, helpful and kind. They helped us in our needs and inquiries. In fact, they gave us a ride when we checked out. The breakfast was ok. A typical Filipino dish. It would be nice to upgrade it and add more variations. The price we paid was adequate for the services we obtained. Our room has a pool and beach access with a stunning view of the sunset. We have enjoyed our stay specially at the pool. With its sea water and infinite pool perfect for picture taking. The room was ok with basic amenities, spotless clean and functional. A bit far from the city but with public transportation it's ok. The only concerns we have are there are no lights on the street when you arrive at night and the road was rocky. They told us it wasn't the hotel's fault because it's not their property, the sink in the toilet was clogged. The water has difficulty to flow. The water on the floor stayed in the middle and doesn't flow in the hole. The shower was clogged too. The rust blocked the small holes of the shower. We found some insects in the toilet but it was ok. The hotel has a potential but they need to upgrade the rooms, toilets and its furnishings. We will definitely come back here again."

"Great place to stay in Dumaguete, the hotel has a car park, a pool, and breakfast buffet is also offered. The buffet, although not much in variety, is tasty though. The hotel is also close to some popular restaurants like Lantaw, Sans Rival, Neva’s Pizza and Cafe Racer although its location is somewhat far to the city center."

"Staff are very accommodating and friendly, nice and quiet place to stay and the location was a few walk to the ROBINSON MALL. "You can take a tuktuk from the pier to the hotel for 150peso It’s 50 peso to go to the city center The service is very good. If you have any problems, ask them to solve them.
