"This hotel is a beautifully converted tulou, offering a modern and polished take on a traditional structure. While it may lack some of the original lived-in charm you might expect from such heritage buildings, it still provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The service was a standout, staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, which really enhanced the overall experience. As for the room design, we were initially impressed by the split-level layout, with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom and toilet below. However, this became a bit inconvenient, especially for older guests needing to use the bathroom during the night. The shower setup was another slight drawback, as there’s no space to hang clothes or towels inside. This means you have to change outside the shower area, making it difficult for others to use the lower level at the same time. These were minor inconveniences rather than major issues, and they didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment of the stay."

"Fujian Tulou (earthen buildings) originated in the Song and Yuan dynasties and reached their peak in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, making them well worth a visit. The rooms were very clean, the service was excellent, and the hotel offered great value for money within the scenic area. For dining, there are local specialties available downstairs from the hotel. There's also a KFC across the street."

"Enjoyed our 3 nights stay in this family run hotel just next to the Tulou. Had a nice river/mountain facing well equipped room with projector TV, wireless charging side table and v.comfy beds. Boss and his 2 nephews were most hospitable and offered their utmost assistance to us. . Everyone were super friendly and sociable. Hakka food is pretty good at the hotel and they do BBQs during the summer months outside at their patio , great to chill & socialise with the locals over a drink or 2 . They even had fireworks. Highly recommend to take the hotel package inclusive of the tulou night show plus a hotel set dinner."

"Spending a night at Changdi Inn, nestled in the heart of the historic Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my Xiamen trip. The inn is located within a centuries old Hakka earthen building, and the moment you step inside, you will be instantly transported back in time. The stay offers an immersive look into traditional Hakka culture and architecture, surrounded by thick earthen walls, wooden beams, and antique details that speak volumes of the past. What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city."

"It's super close to the scenic area, the owner is very nice, he helped with my luggage, and even called ahead to give me directions because there was road construction in one section. There are restaurants downstairs, so it's very convenient to eat. He also helped me plan my itinerary. You can ask the owner any questions you may have. He's a really good person!"

"This is a super warm homestay. It is newly opened, with new equipment, clean and hygienic environment, and spacious rooms. It is completely different from the concerns and pictures when booking. We checked in on New Year's Eve. The proprietress was very welcoming and cooked a New Year's Eve dinner for us. She charged a symbolic fee, which was very warm. This B&B is owned by Zhencheng. The proprietress also took us into the building for free to watch the show on New Year's Eve. She is especially good at taking photos. At the beginning of the year, she came to cook glutinous rice breakfast for us and I gave the boss lady a big hug right away!"

"This time I stayed at the Tujiawan Hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The quilt cover and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the hot bath was bigger than mine. I expected and the Hakka dishes in the restaurant next door were also delicious. The front desk sister Jiang is also very hospitable and talkative. In fact, this time from Malaysia to Yongding is to find roots. After talking to her, she was very happy to introduce me to the tour guide. After the tour guide took me to a lot of earth buildings, I found the ancestors by the way. In the evening, I returned to the hotel and met my sister at the front desk. We talked again before getting off work. She knew my hometown and was very happy to help me. I said that there were relatives who could help me find my hometown relatives. After about an hour, I received her good news, saying that there are relatives there. I will have people from my hometown to meet later. I am so excited and excited to receive her news. I really have a grateful heart. Thank you for her so enthusiastic help. Otherwise, I will not find my hometown to find my roots smoothly. This trip is awesome. Thanks again to sister Jiang Jingqing!
