The hotel is an oasis of calm and luxury amongst the busy noisy city of Kochin. The food and coffee are excellent. The chef even came to our table and explained the local dishes and prepared some dishes that came directly to our table."

"Had booked a room . Saw the condition when I reached the property and decided to not stay. They didn't refund the whole booking amount as well. Decent location but the basic room is a little substandard with a weird dishwashing wash basin in the bed room. The bathroom also doesn't have a privacy near the window. Had to request for room freshners as they don't provide by default. Johnson at the property is welcoming. Vishvam the incharge isn't very approachable and difficult to get in touch with and not cooperative. Would overall not recommend."

"I stayed at Alfred Place two times already. First one was late Nov 2024, this 2nd time for two weeks between late October and early Nov 2025. The staff is very warm and generous. I particularly like the Kerala breakfast that they serve on some days. I chose this hotel because of the pool and the garden, as well as the wooden Kerala furniture / architecture . After returning to Kochi many times, this is by far my favourite place to stay."

"Best location. Nice and interesting building. Good room, but facing alley - loud talking people at night and an occasional motorcycle. IMPECCABLE service and attention, smiling and doing their best for perfection. Hotel offers a free guided tour at 7 am. Receptionist botched my wakeup call, but they arranged an afternoon one. Two suggestions: Put one of the complementary water bottles in the fridge, so arriving guest can have a cold drink. Have guests register the day before for the tour."
