"We stayed in one of the premier rooms with a so called balcony ,with a so called sea view.It cost over £600.00 for 2 nights.{Totally overpriced.] We were very disappointed. The balcony turned out to be an internal room attached to the bed room. It faced the sea but had no clear view of the sea as the view was obscured by trees. The view was of a piece of waste ground covered in rubbish, with men urinating against the wall. It was noisy with music from the local restaurants going on late. The house all though old and interesting needed some general maintenance. Don't be taken in by it's an old dutch house, it's nothing special. There were a lot of mosquito's around and came into the room through badly fitting external doors and windows. We had break fast included which was very poor served by badly trained young miserable waiters. Don't bother staying here,there are better hotels and at a fraction of the cost in the area."

"Had booked a room . Saw the condition when I reached the property and decided to not stay. They didn't refund the whole booking amount as well. Decent location but the basic room is a little substandard with a weird dishwashing wash basin in the bed room. The bathroom also doesn't have a privacy near the window. Had to request for room freshners as they don't provide by default. Johnson at the property is welcoming. Vishvam the incharge isn't very approachable and difficult to get in touch with and not cooperative. Would overall not recommend."

"We stayed there for 2 nights from 15- 17 April . It was always on our bucket list and I heard a lot about it .we had a lovely stay from Start to end . We checked in @ 8:00 pm We were warmly welcomed with the front office team a lady escorted us i don't remember the names She was very knowledgeable and helpful we were upgraded from Delux to Luxary with a stunning view . Thank you for that. The room was spacious and clean with all amenities in place. We loved the room as special mention to Anoop from House keeping who was our room assistant who was always taking care of our amenities and cleaning . The restaurant had a super ambience overlooking willington Island. Stay @ all the restaurants were fantastic. Special mention to Ajith, Jaimon , Akhilan, Chef Anoop and Subin they are all very well taken care of our food needs and service. Abhay for Bar was superb friendly with great service .Special mention to Chinchu thomas security manager who we met .he helped us with late check out till 2:00 since we had a late evening train as I was travelling with my wife . We had a lovely time . My wife especially enjoyed it this was the best food we ever had in all of taj property. Kanverjeet from the front office who did our billing was quick and helped us for a smooth time .We would love to come back again soon .Thank once again Taj malabar for a lovely time we had and A 5 star to the entire team"

"It is an old colonial building with plenty of character. The public areas are delightful and the pool is good. We had a good room, but limited views - I guess that’s the nature of the building - and ventilation. It was charming, but getting a little tatty round the edges. Breakfast was OK, but we’ve had better for the money we paid. You are located by the Chinese fishing nets in the centre of the old town - a good spot for us to stay."

"We went to Artiste at Forum Mall for dinner and honestly, it turned out better than expected. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe — good for a family dinner without feeling too stiff or too casual. Food was tasty, decent variety on the menu, nothing over the top but everything we ordered was done well. What really made the evening though was our waiter, Shivani. She was so sweet and attentive throughout, checked on us without hovering, and gave us honest suggestions when we couldn’t decide what to order. Little things like that make a big difference. Would definitely go back — the food and service were great."
