"Great location right by a beautiful lake — perfect for the scenery. The accommodation was generally clean and comfortable, and the bathroom in particular was well-maintained. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, a toaster, and microwave. However, some of the cookware could use a proper clean as there is burnt residue on them, and a few of the stovetops don’t work reliably. Cleanliness could be improved overall, as there was some rubbish under the bed. The walls are quite thin, so noise can be an issue — you can hear people walking up and down, as well as doors banging from guests coming in and out of rooms. It’s worth noting that guests need to bring their own towels, make their own beds on arrival, and strip the sheets before leaving. Overall, a pleasant stay in a fantastic location, with just a few practical improvements needed."

"The price was a bit high for the May Day holiday, at 2000 per night. We stayed in room 824, which is close to the main road of the town. When you open the balcony door, you're right across from the town's largest supermarket, and the lake view is fantastic. The downside is that it can be a bit noisy, though there aren't many cars at night. Check-in at the front desk required a $100 deposit. The room key is an actual key, and they provide a map showing where to park and how to get to your room. The room itself is quite spacious, almost like a mini-suite, with a dining table, sofa, and a fully equipped kitchen. The LG air conditioning worked very well. The 'king-size' bed was made up of two twin beds pushed together. This hotel seems to be part of the Accor group, so members likely have perks. The breakfast area also offers a great lake view."

"This hotel's main selling point is its direct lakeside location. However, guests should be aware that different room types come with varying amenities. If you're close to the main facilities, it's generally fine. But if you're further away and your room doesn't have a private shower or toilet, it can be quite inconvenient, especially needing to use the restroom at night in winter. The basic facilities are decent, though. In the evenings, if you step outside or walk up to higher ground, you can see a sky full of stars. During the day, the lake is less than a 5-minute walk away."

"The room is super new and comfortable, and it's located in a village very close to Lake Tekapo. The environment is quiet and the facilities are modern. I highly recommend staying here!"

"Lovely location, just a few minutes walk to town. Close by restaurants and shops. Easy check-in process, and the place is clean. It's slightly cold though, one of the hot showers is not hot enough. Otherwise, we had a great time staying here. Tekapo is lovely in the winter!"

"Super clean hotel with nice views and a very convenient location close to star viewing tours. Parking was easy and stress-free, which made the whole stay even better. Everything felt smooth and well taken care of. Perfect spot for a short trip or weekend getaway. Would definitely come back again."

"The night sky at Lake Tekapo was spectacular! It was only a 10-minute drive back to our accommodation, and there was parking right at the door. Stays in Lake Tekapo are really expensive, around 1500 during peak season, making it the hardest place to book on our New Zealand trip. But it was definitely worth it!"

"The service and facilities were excellent. We arrived at noon and the room was ready, allowing us to check in early 👍🏻 The kitchen was fairly well-equipped (except for cooking oil 😆), so we could go to the supermarket to buy groceries and cook dinner ourselves. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the lake, about a 15-20 minute walk."

"Motel is in a large cluster of similar establishments in the area. Room is clean, spacious and modern, with allocated carpark lots. There was no bathtub despite indicated as so. There's no daily room cleaning (they come round to topup supplies between 9-9.30am). As this is a remote/ contactless check in, we were given a keycode to unlock the door, which is easy and fast"

"Highly recommend! This place is really well-designed and beautiful. The room was clean, and it's super close to the Church of the Good Shepherd, just a short walk over the bridge to the town center. They have a laundry room, and the gentleman at the front desk was so thoughtful; he kindly helped us with change and showed us how to use the machines. Much appreciated! The Chinese stargazing tour picked us up right where the last picture was taken. The weather wasn't great when we went, but honestly, we saw more stars in the little courtyard behind the hotel than we did at the actual stargazing spot. We lucked out and got a room when someone checked out. I was initially worried that booking late meant we'd have a bad view, and there was a slight obstruction, but it really didn't bother us at all. Loved it! I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time."
