Ranah Resort Anji, a collaborative effort by Peter Rich, laureate of the Lifetime Architecture Achievement Award in South Africa, and founder Jin Weiping, took twelve years to complete. Constructed with hundreds of thousands of tons of natural stone, the resort spans approximately 1,800 acres and stands as one of the few Chinese works selected for the Venice Biennale of Architecture. Its inclusion stems from its profound exploration of stone architecture and symbiosis with nature, aligning with the Biennale's artistic vision. It has been acclaimed as the "Chinese version of Gaudí Park."
With over 120 suites nestled within stone-built spaces, the resort breathes in harmony with mountain breezes, streams, and morning mists. It is not a conventional hotel but a reconstructed rural haven for urban dwellers—a place to return to nature and rediscover authenticity. It is also a natural playground for children to connect with the wild. Coming here is not merely an overnight stay; it is coming home.
"Very happy to stay at the hotel for 3 days and 2 nights and give a free dining package. I was too good to choose. At that time, I saw that the hotel was not much evaluated, but it looked very special. I chose a package. Not only a room can accommodate 4 people, but the sofa can also add a quilt for free and sleep one person. We can bring our parents and our family of three and five people.
The hotel service is very good. After the reservation is made, I will call some things. There will be a housekeeper to add WeChat. If you have something to WeChat, you can ask at any time. The housekeeper Vicky has also been very enthusiastic and patient. For example, we determined the time of our arrival at the hotel in advance. Someone came to receive the luggage and sent it to the room. The weather was cold. The air conditioner was also turned on in advance. The room was very warm. The combed bed that the child had to sleep was also laid in advance.
Because it was Thursday, there were very few people in the hotel, and there was a feeling of a private room. When we put our luggage in the room, we went to take the awning boat and looked at the small lake at any time, but took the swan food from the hotel and the leek leaves. After sitting on the boat, the black swans swam over and waited for the vegetable leaves. It feels particularly fun, the boatman slowly rowing up the boat, the swans grabbing food by the boat, and it is quite fun.
Next, I wanted to go around nearby. After a while, I found that it was a bit big. I called the hotel's battery car to take us around. There is a bigger lake in the distance. You can also have wild and camping. The stone-style building is close to the hotel. Take pictures.
There are paragliders around the hotel. We came because our son had to climb the mountain. The father and son set off to climb Longwang Mountain at 5 o'clock the next day. It was still very difficult. It took about 10 hours from beginning to end. It took 12 kilometers and climbed more than 1200 meters. It was a big challenge. I went back to the hotel to take a shower at 4 o'clock.
The accommodation package also sent a 2-3 meal, and 5 of us added a dish, because there are fewer dishes to choose from, but the package is very good, the ingredients inside are very fresh, and the vegetables are fried cabbage are too delicious.
The hotel facilities are very good, the bath water is still relatively large, not very cold, but also prepared children's exclusive toiletries, very cute, that is, my son is already very big, have to use adult, told the housekeeper, the hotel waiter also sent it soon. The next day, the housekeeper and we made an appointment to clean the room. The waiter cleaned it very cleanly and quickly. Then the pillow was a bit soft. I asked the housekeeper if there was a buckwheat pillow, and it was delivered quickly.
The overall feeling is very good. I really want to say that the fly in the ointment is that the toilet in the toilet is not a washlet, so it is really a bit ice to sit down. If you can prepare a good disposable toilet pad, it will be fine."
