Amazing
AAnonymous UserAt present, the best hot spring hotel experience, all aspects are very satisfied, especially the bath space is really great, the bed and pillows are also a good sleep until dawn; the bar is also medium, breakfast is better than dinner, it is recommended to at least 2-3 night is a better choice.
But it is recommended that the dining space can strengthen the ventilation, winter meal because the heating is very strong, the smell of teppanyaki oil smoke is very heavy and difficult to breathe, this should be the only place we feel that needs to be adjusted.
AAnonymous UserWe had a wonderful stay at the Mampei Hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed inside and out, the staff are fantastic, and the meals we had for breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all delicious, as were drinks at the iconic hotel bar. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again.
薯薯蛋頭夫人The hotel is located in the old Ginza Center. A taxi ride to the hotel at night cost us about 1100 yen.
The lobby is on the second floor, with restaurants and shops on the first floor.
We arrived at night and took the elevator to the second floor to check-in.
The staff were all very enthusiastic. When we asked for dinner recommendations, they eagerly suggested places and even offered us hotel discount coupons.
The lobby's decor perfectly matched the charming cabin style, creating a very comfortable ambiance.
The cabin-style room decor was beautiful and cozy. It felt very spacious; we could open two 28-inch suitcases on the floor without any issues getting around.
The room had a shower, no bathtub.
We stayed in D6, and the view outside the window was lovely. It wasn't too close to neighbors and there wasn't much disturbance.
We tried the hotel's Japanese breakfast one day, priced at 2200 yen per person. It was very exquisite and delicious.
Opposite the hotel is the red-roofed St. Paul's Catholic Church.
If you want to go to the Prince Hotel Outlet, it's about a 30-minute walk or a 7-10 minute taxi ride.
Staying at this hotel is more convenient if you're self-driving or using taxis, which is what we did for transportation. A taxi ride to the Christmas illumination event next to Hoshino Resorts cost about 3500 yen.
RriiryThis was a really great place to stay! Even with four of us, the spacious room felt very comfortable, and for the price, it offered excellent value for money. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of utensils, so we were able to buy groceries from the supermarket and cook our own meals. For breakfast, there were options like Japanese, Western, and Dashi Chazuke. I chose the Japanese breakfast, and there were so many delicious side dishes that I almost ran out of rice! The staff were all very kind, making for a pleasant stay. Thank you!
MmtQBringing the dog to stay together, very satisfied in all aspects. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Karuizawa Station, and there is a free shuttle service, which is very considerate. The hotel facilities are very clean. Although it is a pet hotel, the rooms and public areas do not have any unpleasant smell. Both indoor and outdoor are equipped with a dog run and a dog salon where you can take photos. It was fun to communicate and play with other dogs in the public area. During the stay, you can also soak in the hot springs, and adults can also relax and enjoy. In short, it was a very satisfying experience. Next time I go to Karuizawa, I still want to take the dog!
GGuest UserWe spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere.
I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience.
The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery.
The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge.

I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!
YYuerkezhenduoyaThis was my second stay here. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, or a 1000 JPY taxi ride. Kumoba Pond is also within walking distance. The hotel is nestled in a resort area surrounded by pine trees, and the room size, especially compared to Tokyo, is incredibly spacious. The Japanese breakfast was exquisite and delicious. This time, I accidentally left a sweater behind. When I contacted the hotel to pick it up on my way back from Kusatsu, I saw staff members in the rain wiping guests' suitcases with towels – very impressive! 👍
GGanmeirenRecommend one night and two meals. You can choose Japanese and Western breakfast. I choose one a day. French dinner🤩, hahahaha, the service can feed me.
Hygiene: clean and comfortable, the room is large.
Service: Whether it is the front desk, the station or the ski resort shuttle bus🚌, it is available at any time✅
Environment: ٩(๑^o^๑)۶ It is so beautiful. It is very close to the station. It would be perfect if there is a hot spring. Walk to take the bus and go to the Stone Church and Yuntang Pool.
Facilities: You can rent ski equipment at the hotel. It is also okay to return it later. You can put it in the drying room by yourself.
GGuest UserI initially planned to book a two-night stay but was hesitant due to mixed reviews about the hotel. Instead, I opted to book for one night to see if it met my expectations, intending to decide later whether to extend my stay.
After dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I made up my mind and chose to extend for an additional night.
The reception staff spoke good English, making the check-in process smooth. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the restaurant staff being polite and attentive. I must commend the chef for the effort in creating varied menus for both dinner and breakfast each day of our stay.
The onsen was quiet and peaceful during my visit around 5 PM.
The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable; however, the lighting was too dim for my preference.
The only downside of my stay was the weak Wi-Fi signal, not just in the room but throughout most areas of the hotel.
PPupaeBWe stayed at Karuizawa. The accommodation was reasonably priced and comfortable. They have various room types, but we chose a ryokan-style room which involved sharing a bathroom, but there were plenty of facilities and it was very convenient. Regular rooms also have private bathrooms. It's conveniently located for walking to nearby attractions. The only thing we didn't have was hot water. They actually have an onsen (hot spring), which would have been perfect if it had hot water especially with the single-digit temperatures like that, I highly recommend it to anyone interested.
