"Recommended for central location if you want to walk to all the 'must see' sites in Lisbon. The room was compact, yet still reasonably spacious, and I was only there to sleep anyway. The room is clean and the bed comfortable.
Unfortunately, there was a mild sewage smell coming from either the sink, toilet or shower (couldn't figure out which!). That wasn't great when you're trying to get to sleep. I suppose I could have asked for another room but, not only was I barely there, the receptionist from mid/late afternoon to evening shift wasn't customer-friendly at all. He definitely shouldn't be front of house! So I didn't feel I could ask for another room basically.
Aside from this, I would still recommend this hotel as a good, clean, comfortable and central base. I also thought it was right for the price."

"Although the building and room look and feel old, it had everything a budget traveler looks for. A big bed, private bathroom, and plenty of space. However, the mattress wasn't soft or close to new. It is located five minutes from a metro station and a bus stop. Every place is easy to get to from here, but without the tons of tourists in this area, though close to Ave de Liberdade."
