Guest houses in Lisbon

The most remarkable and important thing to stay at LR Guest House was the staff Including Antonio and Diego. They were excellent in many ways including serving us good breakfast everyday and it was really delicious. The room was clean all the time and gave us great room service as well. I specially like to thank to Antonio and Diego who help me to make reservation of Fado restaurant in Lisbon so that we could enjoy Portuguese traditional Fado music at the final day of our stay. And also Diego help me to have a private tour to look around Cascais and Cabo Da Roca which was wonderful as well. I have stayed 4 nights from 20th of Sep to 24th of Sep 2023. I definitely like to comeback again to stay at LR Guest House with my children in the future.

I had a wonderful stay at Dear Lisbon - Palace Chiado Suites from August 11th to August 16th, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. What makes this hotel special is the people. The staff are incredibly kind, warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. From the moment I arrived, I felt very comfortable and almost as if I were staying in a beautiful home rather than a hotel. The atmosphere is peaceful, friendly, and truly feels like a home away from home. I especially appreciated all the recommendations from the staff — they were always happy to help and suggest places to visit, restaurants, and things to do in Lisbon. Their advice made my stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared, with a lovely selection of options to start the day. My room was also very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made the stay even more pleasant. I am very grateful to the entire team for their hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail. Dear Lisbon - Palace Chiado Suites is a wonderful place to stay if you want to experience Lisbon in a warm, welcoming, and authentic atmosphere. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

This was a fantastic stay! Every staff member, male and female, was incredibly friendly. During check-in, there was a very difficult guest in front of me, but the staff handled it all with a smile and true professionalism, defusing every complaint and challenge. The hotel is surrounded by amazing restaurants, with a breakfast spot and an ice cream shop just around the corner – absolutely delicious! All the sights are within walking distance, and there's a subway station just a block away. It was a truly perfect experience. I only have two minor gripes: there's no elevator on the ground floor, you have to go up to the first floor to access it, and there's a curfew after 10:30 PM, where you need to contact another hotel to get the door opened.

I chose a room with a bathroom, which is actually the master bedroom of the house. It's quite spacious and has everything. The location is also very good. There is a subway station downstairs, and there are many supermarkets, restaurants, etc. nearby. The kitchen at home is also very easy to use and has everything. The parking situation is not clear. It may not be easy to park on the main road. Comparing the beds in the youth hostels nearby, the price was about twice as high as that in the youth hostels, but they were much more comfortable and comfortable, so I decided to change and did not continue to stay in the youth hostels. Although the landlord is not good at speaking English, he is still very enthusiastic about using translation software to communicate and help. Thank you very much. All in all, it is a very cost-effective choice. If you feel uncomfortable staying in a youth hostel, this is a good choice and highly recommended. (Note that the owner has more than one house, so different house types may not be in the same location. The two houses are not too far apart on foot for four or five minutes. Since there was no phone call in advance and the language was not well understood, the location on the map It’s just one of them, but it’s not where I live, so it doesn’t matter if I wait for a while. The specific arrangement is subject to the landlord’s arrangement)

The hotel has a fantastic location, right next to the city center, subway and bus stations, and a 4-minute walk to the train station. The customer service staff were polite and helpful. We stayed for three days, adding a third night to our room, and they were able to arrange our itinerary for the other room – very kind of them. The room was neat and comfortable, with a terrace overlooking the city center. The evening view was lovely, and the two of us could sit on the terrace and enjoy the scenery. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have stairs; you have to go up two floors to the front desk, then up another two floors to your room on the fourth floor, where you have to use shared bathrooms and toilets. However, these are very clean and hygienic, each bathroom is private and secure. The bathrooms only have shower gel, and towels are provided in the rooms. The soundproofing is poor. There are many shared spaces, and there is a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and toiletries.

In terms of location: I would give 12/10. It does get busy but we were happy we selected this hotel as a first time traveller. Tram station is right outside the hotel. Lady at the reception was very helpful. She gave us lot of tips on Dos and Dont's. Ensuite bathroom is small but you are welcome to use the shared bathroom which was nice and clean. There is a small kitchen incase you want to heat up your meal or anything. Only compalin I had was the Aircon: it felt like it was not working properly and the room didin;t have any fans. We were luck it was not THAT hot but in peak summer I would have my own fan to get the ventilation going. Apart from this I would rate the overall stay as 8/10

A short stay in a small but clean and comfy room. The room was on the top floor but fortunately the manager gave me a hand carrying my suitcase up to the top as there are no lifts. Kitchen is small but clean with most things you need for self catering. I slept great which was what I was looking for 2 previous poor nights sleep. There is a little table with chairs to sit around to eat and work on your laptop in the kitchen area if necessary. I would have stayed an extra night but would have had to move down a level and on that level the so called ”desk space” is really just a shelf with some seats so only really large enough to eat food from rather than work on a laptop. The area is a bit out from the centre but if you want to visit the castle and some of the city views from top of Alfama it's ideal and you can get the creaky but quaint 28E into the centre so you can cross that off your bucket list too

You can't really beat the value of this centrally located hotel in Lisbon. Services really good. Some of the rooms are showing their age but it appears that some are being renovated (seems at least the fifth floor has renovated suites)

The boss was so kind and friendly and lovely:) It was a little far from downtown, but it was great that there was a department store right in front!! I wanted to go shopping and buy wine cheaply at a big mart and buy everything. Oh, it can be a little noisy, so I don't recommend it to sensitive people. But if you want to sleep well, the single room was good for a cheap price, and it was nice that you could cook. There's also a ramen restaurant right in front. I enjoyed the food.
