Scenic Hotels in Sokcho-si

"I visited with my 18-month-old baby. I chose this room because it didn't have a bed guard, which was perfect. The location was excellent, and the view was fantastic. Being right in front of Sokcho Beach, we could easily go for walks, and parking wasn't bad either – it was all wonderful. We were able to lay down a mat in the living room and sleep with the baby. There was plenty of bedding, which I was satisfied with. I didn't have high expectations for cleanliness, so it was decent. The ocean-view side elevator was also not bad as it was mostly used by fewer people. I'd probably go again if I get the chance."

"Ramada boasts truly stunning ocean views. The location is superb, ideal for a leisurely stroll after a meal. We decided to have breakfast on our last day and were pleased to find they've added pho (rice noodles) to the menu. My mother, who had been craving something warm since morning, absolutely loved it and ate it all up."

"The hotel is conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from Sokcho Jungang Tourist Market. It was great to be able to buy food from the market and enjoy a meal on the 3rd-floor terrace while admiring the Cheongcho Lake night view. The breakfast was also excellent, and the night view from the 20th-floor rooftop was a definite highlight!"

"The room feels like a studio condo: spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. Amenities are available at the front desk for purchase. The air conditioning is centrally controlled, and while the temperature is acceptable. The room offers sea views, though the view can be partially blocked by nearby high-rise buildings. The hotel is well located near the Sokcho bus express terminal, with the bus stop of No. 7 and No. 7-1 for Seoraksan National Park just across the street. A variety of local restaurants and convenience stores are nearby, and Sokcho Beach is about a 10-minute reach—very convenient for travelers."

"While clean, the room was much smaller than I anticipated. Check-in took an incredibly long time; I waited for three hours! They claimed to be following check-in numbers sent via KakaoTalk, but this wasn't actually the case. Someone making a lot of complaints was prioritized, and the whole situation was just chaotic. The room was surprisingly small and looked nothing like the photos. I was assigned to Building A, but the pictures on Trip.com were completely different from the room I received (I suspect they were of Buildings B and C). I initially wondered if the hotel had given me the wrong room, but upon re-examining the photos, the very last one did seem to be of Building A. Honestly, I feel deceived, having chosen the room based solely on those initial, misleading pictures. The swimming pool also incurs an additional charge of 80,000 KRW per person (I didn't use the pool). There's a bakery area, and its lobby is so close to the pool that everything is visible from there. While waiting for check-in, I had coffee in the lobby, and it felt rather awkward seeing people in their swimsuits so close by. Breakfast is divided into two time slots, so you must arrive at your allocated time. The coffee service, where staff pour it for you, was also quite inconvenient. Normally, one would get coffee from a self-service machine, but here there's a dedicated 'coffee zone' where you have to place an order with staff. When there's a queue, you end up waiting with your food in hand, which is truly inconvenient. And the coffee wasn't even exceptionally delicious. Despite having three staff members at the coffee zone, the whole process felt incredibly inefficient. The breakfast food itself, however, was tasty. Oh, and a quick note: Netflix isn't available in the rooms, haha. I honestly think the Lotte Resort, where I previously stayed, is far superior. Their rooms are much more spacious, the pool is complimentary, and it definitely has a more luxurious vibe. Breakfast at Lotte is also tastier, in my personal opinion (and you *can* watch Netflix there!). To sum up, Cassia offers breathtaking scenery. The breakfast was varied and delicious! However, I feel they haven't made effective use of the hotel's interior space. It's genuinely vast, and as you wander, you encounter tables, uncomfortable chairs, and very large art books on display, but it all feels a bit forced and out of place. I never felt like sitting down and relaxing on the chairs, which were also uncomfortable. The overall interior design felt somewhat unkempt and disjointed. It's a shame such a large space wasn't utilized more thoughtfully. Next time, I'll probably opt for Lotte Resort over Cassia."

"The gentleman at reception named Eden spoke fluent English and provided excellent service. He even remembered my last name, which was a nice touch! Location: It's close to the bus station and only a 5-6 minute walk to the beach. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and it's close to Oy and Daiso. The bus stop is right around the corner. The decor and cleanliness are top-notch, comparable to Banyan Tree standards – very comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again next time. Perfect!"

"1. Poor Room Layout and Lack of Consideration for Female Guests There is no dressing table/vanity. Without one, there should at least be a mirror positioned where I can sit down to apply makeup, but the only mirror is located by the entrance (where you put on shoes). I tried using the bathroom instead, but the lighting is so poorly placed that it reflects off the mirror, making it impossible to see my face clearly. Furthermore, the hairdryer cord is so short that I can’t even look in the mirror while drying my hair. The lack of consideration for female guests is appalling. 2. Unreasonable Trash Disposal Policy Guests are required to sort and dispose of their own recycling. I don’t understand why a guest staying at a hotel is expected to do the housekeeping. To make matters worse, the trash disposal area has no roof, so if it’s raining, you have to either hold an umbrella or just get soaked while throwing away the trash. 3. Unmanaged AV Room There is an AV/Game room, but no staff members are stationed there to manage it. This means if one team decides to monopolize the equipment and play for hours, there is no way to intervene. There is clearly no oversight or system in place to ensure all guests get a fair turn."

"Overall, it was an average stay. The cleanliness was what I'd expect for the price. My main disappointments were that getting to the beach required walking around the building from the main entrance due to a fence at the back, and the elevator usage was very inconvenient. With four elevators operating in total, it would be better if one side operated for odd/even floors, another for the basement up to the 12th floor (not going higher than 12), and another for the basement up to the 24th high floor (skipping floors 2-12)."
