Giselle LuI extended my stay for two more days after the first night, and I'm extremely satisfied! Besides the excellent facilities and environment (honestly, for this price and quality, it's incredible value for money), the hotel also helps with SPA bookings and offers free airport transfers. The service is truly thoughtful. I slept wonderfully. The breakfast is delicious, and the daily in-room snacks are a special touch (they're different every day). If you want a comfortable, quiet stay in Chiang Mai, this place is definitely worth it.

Even though I had seen pictures beforehand, I was still pleasantly surprised when I actually checked in, and my family was even more delighted. Everything from the facilities to the service was impeccable. The amenities were well-designed, and the service was attentive. I completely disagree with the comments saying breakfast wasn't good; it was actually quite enjoyable. For dinner, you could even order from the hotel's restaurant and have it delivered to your room, with staff setting everything up for you. The spa was also quite good, and the airport shuttle service was very comfortable. Overall, we were extremely satisfied. If my whole family comes together again, we will definitely stay here and recommend it to our friends. The only drawback might be that it's a bit far from the bustling city center, without the same rich entertainment options as Nimman Road, but it's perfect for those seeking a relaxing, 'lie-flat' style vacation.

Anonymous UserThis is my second time in Chiang Mai, and I chose this hotel again. This time, they've built a new wing, which has a slightly different style from the old one. The rooms in the new building are newer and offer more privacy. I had only booked one night in the new wing and the rest in the old one, but the front desk upgraded me to the new wing for all my nights. Every staff member was very nice. I'll definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Chiang Mai.

Guest UserRight opposite Wat Chedi Luang, this hotel boasts an excellent location in the Old City and even offers private parking, which is incredibly convenient! The main entrance is tucked away in a small alley, and I initially thought it would be a small place, but once inside, it's a pleasant surprise with a beautiful garden and pool. The hotel also features an integrated commercial complex with a spa, salon, bar, and restaurant. The owner truly offers a comprehensive range of services!

Wittawat PateeThe hotel is near the walking street. The staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was great. There's no on-site parking, but the lobby staff took care of parking our car and retrieving it for us.

Guest UserI rarely write reviews, but I just had to gush about this hotel! The welcome tea upon arrival was delicious, and the overall ambiance of the hotel is absolutely fantastic, exuding a strong Nanyang charm everywhere you go – and it smells wonderful too. The room itself is incredibly spacious, one of the few that can comfortably fit two large beds, which was super practical. They even prepared a handwritten welcome card and fresh fruit, and there was a thoughtful little gift at check-out, showing great attention to detail. Housekeeping cleaned the room punctually every day, and the service was consistently meticulous and on-point. The breakfast was superb and they even offer flexible meal ordering. It happened to be my friend's birthday, and the hotel specially prepared a small cake. Plus, the room key came with a 20% discount voucher – you can tell they put a lot of thought into everything. Furthermore, the hotel's car rental and taxi services were very accommodating and reasonably priced. The front desk staff, especially one guy, was incredibly diligent and responsible. My entire experience was perfect, and I genuinely recommend this place!

Guest UserI love creating reviews and social content — especially about ryokan-style stays and onsen experiences. There may be more ryokans in Thailand now, but when a friend recommended Chez Nij Ryokan Onsen, I was genuinely impressed from the moment I arrived.
The blend of Thai, Japanese, and French influences is beautifully unique. Even more special is the history — this was once the residence of the former Governor of Chiang Mai. The house is filled with antiques, charm, and character. Stepping inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly homely. The owner, a doctor and grandson of the former governor, personally cares for guests and shared meaningful stories about the residence — an honor I won’t forget.
Location-wise, it’s peaceful yet convenient. Nimmanhaemin Road is only 8 minutes away, perfect for dining and shopping. Even returning around 1 AM, the owner and night manager were still there to welcome me. The alley is well lit, quiet, and safe, with another hotel and a tennis court next door. A 7-Eleven is just a 5-minute walk away on the main road.
I stayed in the Studio Room with onsen access — incredibly private and peaceful. The tatami design is beautiful, the bed unbelievably soft, and the air quality excellent (my usual dust allergies improved after just one night). The complimentary minibar was a lovely bonus. Direct onsen access from the room is available in the morning only. During female and male sessions, the private door is securely locked and entry is through the changing room — a very safe and thoughtful system.
The open-air onsen is stunning — inspired by the winter sea of Hokkaido and said to be one of the largest in Chiang Mai. Cleanliness and hygiene standards are outstanding. The mineral water left my skin noticeably smoother and deeply hydrated, unlike other onsens I’ve tried. The schedule is very well organized, with separate time slots and thorough cleaning between sessions. I checked in at 3 PM and immediately enjoyed the women’s session. After 5:30 PM, guests are asked to leave for routine cleaning and to dry off properly to prevent slipping — a clear reflection of their commitment to safety and hygiene. Soaking at 7:30 AM in the cool morning air truly felt like having a private hot spring.
Breakfast is served as a generous full set — so abundant I couldn’t finish it all — yet the staff still offered more. Everything was delicious, and the chef personally came to serve and chat, adding such a thoughtful touch. In the evening, a complimentary mini tea set (9–10 PM) made the stay even more charming.
I wrote this from the heart to reflect the genuine care I received. It was absolutely worth it, and I’m so glad I followed my friend’s recommendation. I’ll definitely return to Chez Nij whenever I’m back in Chiang Mai.

A beautiful serendipitous spot to relax. Staff are all friendly and have high service mindset. I asked for Khao Soi which is not on menu and they did it for me. Surprisingly the dish was so delicious, one of good Khao Soi bowls I had. All details in the hotel are so well-curated. A location is good, nearby Wat U-mong which is nice to visit by walking. Not too far to go to center of a city. Lovely experience staying there.

Guest UserHinoki Hotel & Condo is a boutique mixed use property developed by private developer group located in the Chang Phueak area of Chiang Mai, known for its distinct concept that blends traditional Japanese wellness culture with northern Thailand’s relaxed pace of life.
Background and History
The hotel construction began in 2016, and it officially opened its doors to guests at the beginning of 2018. The foundational concept behind the property was to create a authentic Japanese ryokan-style experience within Chiang Mai, focusing heavily on natural materials and traditional wellness practices.
The Inspiration of Hinoki Wood: The hotel is named after Hinoki (Japanese cypress), a prized wood historically used in Japan to build palaces, temples, and traditional baths. The property integrates the natural charm and soothing aesthetic of this wood throughout its design to establish a cozy, minimalist atmosphere that promotes relaxation.
Focus on Wellness Infrastructure: From its inception, the history of the hotel has been tied to its dedicated wellness facilities. It was purposefully designed to house authentic, separate male and female Japanese-style onsens (hot stone/public baths), a sauna, a steam room, and a relaxation garden. This made it a unique addition to Chiang Mai’s hospitality scene, targeting travelers looking for a distinct cross-cultural wellness retreat.
Modern Evolution: Comprising 43 rooms across two residential-style buildings, the hotel has maintained its original Japanese theme over the years. It has expanded its offerings to include modern comforts like a fitness center and a saltwater outdoor swimming pool that overlooks the nearby mountains, positioning itself as a peaceful sanctuary just outside the busy city center.
Stay required a refundable deposit of 500 baht cash.
Surrounded by quiet ambience in the hilly regions
Stayed at the right block facing the Hinoki Cafe.
Soaked in the separated onsen facing swimming pool and a gym upstairs having a delicious Japanese style bento set.
Toiletries self collect at front desk before going up to room

Guest User”I had a wonderful stay at Chaba CBP Chiang Mai. The hotel features a beautiful, minimalist design that feels incredibly clean, calm, and welcoming. What truly sets this place apart is how genuinely pet-friendly they are—you can feel that the team here cares about all animals from the heart. The rooms are spotless, non-smoking, and very comfortable. The staff provides excellent service with warm hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to Chiang Mai, especially if you have furry friends!”
