IInstandyFukashiso could be one of the loveliest accommodation that I have ever stayed at. The staff were very polite, attentive and extremely helpful and courteous. The place itself is so beautiful and quaint. Traditional garments are provided as an option if you want to dress up for dinner. Made for great photo ops! The Kaiseki was the most beautiful equivalent of a degustation I’ve tried, and it was served in a lovely separate intimate dining area. During dinner Nobu-San a fourth generation family member of the owners greeted us which was a lovely touch. Soba was freshly made at the accomodation. We stayed two nights and the Kaiseki menu was different each time. Breakfast was a nice assortment of Japanese and Western options and the coffee machine was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the onsens, there are two public ones that switch locations for men and women and a private one. They were well equipped and relaxing. Our room was on Level 1 with a private bathroom, seating area and little garden view. Overall this place is highly recommended. For a traditional ryokan experience, it was so nice. Even after we checked out, the receptionist gave us a little gift, and even walked us outside to where our car was parked. Such a warm and lovely place. Stay here for sure!

Oolgakay92It was awesome! Recommended for female solo traveler who need privacy yet doesn’t feel to be “alone” My choice was capsule with private space and it big! Free towel, face towel everyday. They have public onsen (I didn’t used it) and full of amenities! Not really far from station, and you can found discount food and groceries at Alpico store just about a min walk! So cool!! I end up eating sashimi and bento everyday because it was so close! Love it!!

EExoyThe hotel is really convenient. Close to train station, bus station and Alpico plaza. And there were so many amenities like facial wash, toner, cream and etc. But as a solo traveler I want a quiet place to rest but hotel room wall is so thin that I can hear the noise outside! And the pillow is weird, It’s not comfortable to sleep. Overall it’s a good place to stay

AAngieBooked this place near Matsumoto city for my family to have a ryokan experience. It is about 15mins drive from the city and easy to find. There is also a Lawsons across the hotel if you want to get any snacks. But we didn’t need to as there was a welcome tea and snack and more tea and biscuits in the room. We had the family room which fit the 5 of us perfectly. There was the main room which can fit 3 and 2 more in the smaller room. The 2 toilets also made it convenient. Only downside was that we could hear water gushing through the pipes above in the night. We enjoyed the kaiseki dinner and morning breakfast. We were also allowed to reserve a 40min private session on the rooftop onsen. It was relaxing to have a hot soak in the cool night. Overall an enjoyable stay with excellent food and service!

GGuest UserSimple hotel with good price. All the required amenities and service available. Hotel seems to have a long history. Simple set breakfast is well appreciated. Hotel entrance could do with a ramp for ease of carrying luggage.

GGuest UserIt’s about a 10‑minute walk straight from the station to Dormy Hotel. Getting to Matsumoto Castle or the Art museum from the hotel is really convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants around. I had more luggage this time, and the hotel staff kindly helped me bring it up to my room. Both the breakfast and the late‑night snacks were pretty good. I highly recommend this hotel.

MMinnie8899Outdoor temperature was around –3°C, but the ryokan felt even colder because some sections were open to the outdoors. The walkway from the rooms to the onsen is uncovered, so there’s no way to avoid the cold. I had to wear my winter jacket just to walk to the public bath. There is a private bath option, but the one assigned to me was far too hot — I couldn’t even step into the water. The public bath is a very small indoor pool, probably suitable for 2–3 people at most. There is no shower in the room, so using the public bath is unavoidable. The room itself was very cold. On top of that, I had to carry my own 25-inch luggage up three floors as there is no lift, so this place is not suitable if you can’t manage your own luggage. Dinner was disappointing — just soba and a simple soup with pork and some vegetables and mushrooms.

Rretired traveller to beRenovated lobby area, onsen lacks of ryokan style of cleaning essential. This hotel run by Chinese people so did not feel that they paid attention to the detail of service. Dinner kaiseki meal were underpar. Breakfast even horrible. I can tell they did not serve freshly made salmon, they were very hard to bite. Most item are heated from frozen like suimai and xiao longbao which I didn't expect to have as Japanese breakfast. Miso soup was the same leftover from dinner. Coffee not hot at all. I don't think I will stay there again.

GGuest UserIt seems like it has recently been renovated, so some of the basic parts are still old, but it was well-maintained and the facility was clean. I think the meals were well-balanced without being too heavy on meat. The bath is said to come from a hot spring source, but it was so hot that I had to be careful to get into it. However, I think the power of the hot springs is that I was able to stay in light clothes until the morning without getting cold. If the changing room is dark, you will not feel safe, so I think it would be better if it was a little brighter. I think the distance between the staff was just right, but since my luggage was heavy, I wish I had an elevator.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel located in good location, with walking distance to the city center area where you can find shops, restaurants, or even Matsumoto Castle. Parking lot provided with fees but it’s quite convenient. The most favorite from this hotel is there’re plenty of amenities – shampoo, conditioner, shower gel from a lot of brands that you can select by yourself at the lobby.
