Anonymous UserI stayed here for 4 days. It was really nice that the staff can remember my name even they don’t have too. It means that they really pay attention to the guest not only the name but also food allergies as well. I was really satisfied with the hotel staff and service. The hotel itself is really peaceful and the food is so amazing. Highly recommended 🥳

The hotel is located near Tashiro Pond in Kamikochi, quite far from the bus terminal and Kappa Bridge. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Imperial Hotel stop to the hotel. Fortunately, the hotel facilities, room equipment and catering services are all very complete, making people forget to leave. The most unforgettable thing is the view of the Azusagawa River outside the hotel gate. I also really appreciated the comfortable electric massage chair outside the large bath, which helped me relieve the fatigue from the long journey. On the day of check-out, I almost couldn't pre-check my luggage to Kamikochi Bus Terminal due to language and communication problems. Fortunately, the hotel staff immediately took remedial measures and delivered the luggage to the main station before the ideal time, so that I had enough time to walk to Myojin Pond and Myojin Bridge to enjoy the beautiful scenery after checking out. In short, the hotel service level is first-class and worth recommending.

TonleewOur stay at Poetical was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip in Japan.
From the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature to the warm hospitality of the owner, everything felt so special and heartfelt. My husband and I were deeply touched by the kindness and care we received throughout our stay.
The homemade meals were absolutely delicious, every dish was prepared with so much love and attention, making us feel completely at home.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful place filled with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable memories.
We already miss Poetical and hope to come back again in winter to see this lovely place covered in snow ❄️

TxjemI really loved my time at Park Lodge Kamikochi, it was truly magical and I can’t believe our luck in finding this place. Location is great, very near to the bus terminal and starting point for many treks. The main areas and the rooms were simple, well-designed and very comfortable. Although note that there is no air conditioning in the room as the weather is already cool. The food was the best part, a delicious variety of offerings, including a live grill! My friends and I were amazed and felt like we got great value and experience out of this stay. The staff were mostly friendly, but we were once suspected of trespassing the premises. However, it was one-off and not a problem as they might experience non-guests entering. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.

Amazing!!! Will definitely come back in the future...room rates are pricey but you get what you paid for. Food was like dining in a Michelin star restaurant. They have different types of onsen to suit your needs, from spacious onsen bath to deep bath and bed type bath.

This is my second time staying at the Awa-no-yu Hotel. I stayed there for one night last year and felt very good. I checked Ctrip and saw that there were 2 nights available, so I booked it 3 months in advance without hesitation.
We took the tram from Matsumoto Station to Shin-Shimajima Station, and then took the bus to the hotel, which was quite convenient. It's just that the cost of travel has increased now. Last year, the tram and bus cost 2250 yen, and you can buy the tram + bus ticket directly from Matsumoto Station. Now you have to buy the tram from Matsumoto Station for 710 yen, and then buy the bus ticket for 2500 yen after arriving at Shin-Shimajima.
The hotel distribution map is for your reference. There are no toilets and washrooms in the rooms in the main building. I suggest you book the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the new building. The rooms are quite large and the conditions are very good.
The hotel's hot springs and meals are quite good, and the service staff are also very enthusiastic.
After we checked in, we caught up with a heavy snowfall. It was so enjoyable to soak in the hot springs in the snow!
Although the hotel is in the deep mountains, there are flowers decorated in many places, which is very stylish.
I would also like to thank Ctrip's customer service for helping me solve the problem in the reservation in time. It is trustworthy. I'm not an agent, I just always book hotels through Ctrip.

齐I went to Xinzhou University with my daughter and chose this hotel. The proprietress was very enthusiastic, helped with the luggage, brought the items to the room, and gave the map around. The hand-painted was very careful, telling us about the restaurants and convenience stores around. Matsumoto was really quiet at night, but the law and order in Japan is also very good. There is a public soup pool in the hotel where you can take a bath and it is very comfortable. Deferred time check-out is only a symbolic supplement to the room rate. Very satisfied with a trip, and then Matsumoto will choose to live here.

Nice stay in this little pension ! Food was really excellent and the highlight of our stay.
However the room is not really big and the bed are too hard/not confortable.
It’s a shame that we were not politely asked to leave 10 min after checkout time, we thought that being alone we could enjoy a bit more after 3 nights.
Lastly, paying for renting a towel is quite unsual when the room is in this range of price.

Honestly, I can't praise this place enough.
The owners are a really lovely couple; very welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are great - plenty of space and all the amenities you need for a short stay. The onsen is just the best - it's a private one that you can lock the door to and have to yourself for as long as you can cope with the hot water!
But the *food* - wow! The food is absolutely fantastic and expertly cooked. Honestly, I've eaten in Michelin starred restaurants with food that wasn't as good as this. On top of that, at our first evening meal, we found that the message hadn't been relayed about my wife being a pescatarian. Anywhere else that might have been a problem, but within twenty-five minutes an entire new fish meal had been prepared and served - and was absolutely amazing. We were SO impressed.
Also, what a truly beautiful location. Oh yes, and they have *monkeys*!! They wandered past the property in the evening and wandered back the next morning.
I'm trying to name anything negative and I honestly can't - the closest thing I can think of is that the property is hard to locate and you definitely need a car to get there, but if you can get there, do - it was one of two equal-best places we've stayed at in Japan.
Thank you to the owners (sorry, I never asked your names) for a wonderful stay in your home.
